    I finally got a chance to watch your video, Thomas. I’m jealous because I haven’t been out yet. There’s still ice on the beaches. I hop to get out on Tuesday a little farther south though. You found some really cool agates in that chilly water!

      It was a lot of fun to get out again. It sounds like we're supposed to get another dumping of snow this week, so it might be a while longer before I can get out again.

    HEY GUYS! PAY ATTENTION TO THE TIPS HE IS GIVING. People ask me how do I find my Agates, these are the best tips for anyone. I'm not sure if it's the strong melt, but I have been finding some really different ones this year too. Also don't forget some Agates are "Mottled Agates", which means no banding, but is still a LSA. One more, when I find one I ALWAYS look around and 60% of the time I find one or two more. Nice finds, great job on the video. Just fielded this video and clicked right away.

    • @99Rockhounding
      @99Rockhounding  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another great rockhounding video Thomas! How do you decide what streams/rivers to look in. I live in the Duluth area and there are hundreds of streams. Are they all likely/able to contain agates? Keep up the great vids!

    • @99Rockhounding
      @99Rockhounding  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since I didn't answer this one in the video, I just look for streams that contain a lot of rock. The more rock it has, the more likely it is to have agates and other stuff in it. A lot of the streams around me are really muddy and don't contain a lot of rocks.

    Those are all beautiful! I moved to Central MN last fall from the PNW where I used to rouckhunt every weekend. Looking forward to doing some rockhunting here when the weather warms up. I'm in Mille Lacs County so not really sure where to go that's not all the way up to Lake Superior. Any recommendations?

    • @99Rockhounding
      @99Rockhounding  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mille Lacs Lake is a pretty good starting point. There are plenty of rocks along the shore there(just be warned there are lots of crawfish and leeches there if those things bother you). You'll find agates and jasper there. Otherwise, the gravel roads in that area would be great for finding agates.
