the only major difference is the express lanes have fewer exits. if you watch the next video in the sequence (NJ Turnpike Exits 73-68, 16W), you'll see that both roadways have access to all the major highway junctions in the area
@tpir1972 route 4 is more like an "arterial" in that it has interchanges with the major roads it intersects, but still has at-grade intersections with other roads and business entrances.

I wanna drive around NYC so bad! 2020 would have been the best year too!! LIGHT LIGHT TRAFFIC!! Had 3-4 months “paid vacation” off work.. BUT DL is suspended 😿😿 No insurance NOT DUI’s before you try to judge!! Lol NYC is only 12 hrs from me (Lexington, KY) sure would have AWESOME!!! oh well maybe during the next pandemic 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼😹😹

Route 1/9 don't see a lot of treaffic north of Woodbridge, I think it's because of the Turnpike it's faster.
