Do you have difficulty finding certain cacti species in Australia? And do you find prices to be decent? Or can it be rather expensive, seeing as how most species are native to North/South America.

Yes, I’ve had a lot of trouble buying anything good locally because I’m in a regional area but I’ve joined a couple of Australian Facebook groups where you can buy a variety of different species. The only problem for me is that, because it’s just a hobby (we’ll - let’s be truthful and say an addiction!) most of the more unusual cacti are sooooo expensive! I can’t afford to spend hundreds of dollars on a single plant so I’m always looking for bargains. I have a bunch of Astrophytum seeds to try to grow because that is one of the varieties which is hard to find (and expensive!). Parodias and Copiapoas are also really expensive and rare along with variegated or crested ones.

There’s something really rewarding about growing from seeds and cuttings - I’m hoping to do some more videos where I sow some more seeds soon

Can I water the ones that go into clean soil that have roots?

If they have roots you can water them but, if you’ve just transplanted them, then it’s a good idea to leave them without watering for a couple of days in case any damage was done to the roots.
