Those are two sopping wet cacti. Good thing she rescued them from Walmart. It looks like they were close to becoming root bound soon too if root rot didn't set in soon from that drenching. But they were obviously surviving and thriving with all those pups they were growing. Nice video. I'm happy to learn about cinnamon. I didn't know it was good for my cacti and now I do. Thanks.
At first, I thought the arrangement would look too crowded. I am pleased to see that it looks well balanced and established as if it has been like this for a long time.
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Hope you are doing well. Gardening helps so much in these strange times. To watch something grow can remind you life is still beautiful and nature is moving forward 🙏❤️
The 2nd cactus with a damaged pup is Domino cactus Echinopsis subdenudata (commonly called domino cactus, night blooming hedgehog, Easter lily cactus) is a species of cactus. Good thing you kept it solo in there 😃
Hi Ana. I have a Maltipoo dog who loved watching every second of your video with me. Sometimes he gets bored with what I am watching and leaves, but not today! I told him he will need to remember everything you do, so he can remind me of what to do and how to do repotting right. I love watching you, and I try to guess which pups you will choose to remove. I guessed right most of the time! You may get me hooked on cactus, yet! You enjoy your weekend and family time. Thank you for posting. Stay safe. God bless you richly! Cheers! 🌸🌵☕☕🌼🌵
I am watching this video in July of 2021 and your words of encouragement of staying positive are still so appropriate! I always learn so much from your videos, thank you much!
Such a WONDERFUL video Ana :-D and so fantastic to see the Echinopsis pups and both the Mother plants, and they look AMAZING all potted up in the beautiful bowl, thanks so much for sharing Ana, and Hans and I are sending you an abundance of love and happiness and CAFFEINE and PLANT POWER from across the Emerald Isle to Las Vegas for a wonderful Monday today XXXXX
Hello. Good morning . I'm from Philippines. I've been watching your vlog for so long. Stay safe. God bless us ♥️
LOVE this dish garden! The Echinopsis idea is great!!!! The lighter green of the two rainbow bursts I bought back in February and it to has buds! Can't wait to see what color it is!!! Bought mine at a Lowes home improvement store. The stores were just starting to get cool plants in when all this happened. We were looking forward to our season of plant buying for the park and greenhouse but it stopped us. For the park we are starting seeds this year of many types of flowers. And I've got a lotta new pots that need to have greenhouse cactus & Euphorbias repotted into them. From Morris park in the Ozarks , enjoy your Echinopsis" Rainbow bursts!!!!🌈💥 Peace,Love,Plants!!!!!✌💖🌵🌸🌿🌹🌴
Clyde Morris, oh, I want to find out too what color of flowers you will get from your echinopsis. Yeah, I need to buy pots too for repotting but now I have to hold on some spring projects. Hope all these will be over soon. Stay safe, Clyde!

My only one left has 3 pups, and is only about a year old from an inch. (Its about 4 inches tall, and 3 or 4 wide. Mine is echinopsis eriyesii. (I gave away most of mine.) The one i have is from a huge one that has pink flowers, and tons of pups. (He always removed and gave them away by the dozens. His original plant died, so i gave him one of mine.
Hi Ms. Ana. I just subscribed to your channel. When I happen to view your latest vlogs, I have this feeling that you are a Filipina. This vlog confirms it. I love cactus that's why i subscribed to your channel. Keep posting videos. God bless.
Anna I love the Cactus bowl you made with the pops. I love my Cactuses. I've learned a lot watching your Videos. An my Daughter to. Your the Greast Anna. God Bless You 🌻⭐⭐
I mostly grow very slow growing cactus and rarely have to repot anything. I like the compact look which is similar to growing in habitat. I enjoy watching your videos.
Thank you John. It sounds like you have a good collection of cacti. 😃 I would love to see them if you can share some pictures. 👍🏼🙂 Cheers from Vegas to California! ☕️☕️
Great video Ana, really enjoyed you creating this arrangement. Loved your message at the beginning as well 🥰 And wow so many offsets on those Echinopsis, pupping machines haha. Can’t wait to see the blooms on them 😊 Good tip with the cinnamon powder as well, used it many times myself and can actually help cuttings take root also. Maraming salamat po for sharing with us Ana, from Edith & myself, be safe and well, have a wonderful Sunday 😊🌵🌼🌸☀️🏜☕️
Ganda ng arrangement, sis. Favourite ko rin ang Echinopsis/Lobivia. I just love their huge, colourful and gorgeous flowers. Working home na ako starting tomorrow. Ingat ka dyan lagi. Praying for you and your family’s safety and good health. ❤️🙏
I keep coming back to this video. Very helpful and informative as I just bought a huge Echinobivia Rainbow Burst ( half price, tee-hee ;-) ). It pays to buy out of season! Now bc of the vid, I know I will need to wait until spring to repot cause it's probably dormant right now. It has tons of pups but not big enough to remove yet. Thanks again Anna!
These videos are so helpful! Also wishing you good health at this time, I'm still locked down here in the UK too. I recently rediscovered a bowl arrangement similar in size to the one at the start of the video (4 different cacti, no idea the names but quite a variety) that I was gifted when I was 12- I'm 28 now. Sadly I had little interest in plants at 12 so needless to say, it was pretty badly neglected with virtually no care all this time (not sure if it was ever even watered!). When I found it again I thought it may have to be thrown out but I was amazed to find some life still in these plants. Goes to show how hardy they are! Still, it's going to need a lot of help to have a chance at revival and with no knowledge of cacti and succulents, your videos have helped tremendously in allowing me to understand what to do. Hopefully I'm able to perform a miracle resurrection on this small bowl but if not, I believe you've sparked an interest in me to have a go at growing some new ones too! Side note - Does anyone have any recommendations for new cacti/succulents to grow from seed? Such a variety to choose from I don't know where to start!
Wow, what a survival story! 16 years of neglect and there is still some life to them?! 😃 That is one thing great about cactus. I can get lazy at times and they still thrive! I can go for a vacation and not worry about them either. 😉 Welcome to this new hobby! I hope you will enjoy it. 😃🌵 Cheers from Vegas to UK. ☕️
@@CactusCaffeine Thanks! Yep fingers crossed, I uprooted them today to repot seperateley and there's a surprising amount of healthy roots, even the 16 year old soil somehow still looks good (I was expecting almost dust after all this time) so hopefully there's a chance. Cheers from the UK!
Thank you for ALL of your videos. Thank you for your best wishes in these pandemic times ... I hope your immediate and extended family are safe ... from England PS leave the music off !
I enjoyed the video😌🤲🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟If you keep removing pups they become less and less as the cacti ages😉I think a cactus with too many pups makes less flowers. I also have many echinopsis with too many pups and I removed a lot😁But it does look nice with pups and a full plant. I top dress my cacti to stop my soil blowing away in windy weather and storms😉💖And of course makes the cacti look great! Have a good day🌄🥤
I don't know how I missed this. I enjoyed it. They look nice in the bowl. That's a great idea for the pups. I just removed pups from my lady finger and need to put them in soil. I don't know what I will do with them though. I don't need so many. How often should I fertilize and water? I just gave everyone tomato fertilizer for their first drink out of winter rest. And I won't water on the weeks it rains of course. It's raining a lot today and I'm worried.
Those pups at the bottom in the 2nd cactus are off colored already. didnt got a chance to see sunlight. I really enjoyed the show. At least you showed the new growers how to take out soil from the roots when its already wet. I would love to have some of those echinopsis pups.
The Myrtillocactus Geometrizans Cristata i just found at Home Depot was soaking wet and stored on a rack getting no sun. She was immediately removed from that pot, soil removed, air dried for days and then repotted in a dry cactus mix. 2 weeks later she got a drink and is doing amazing. I like to completely remove all of the store soil and do a dip. I feel completely washing and removing pests at the beginning benefits the plant in the end. Why draw out the pain!
Here in Vegas, I buy mine in the big box stores or at Star Nursery. I try to get those soil that are peatmoss free and then add more pumice to the soil.
Weed mat on the inside solves soil coming out of drain holes. As for sinking soil this can be alleviated by bouncing pot on a hard surface as you put soil in, say bounce every time you fill the pot by a quarter or halfway. You'll see soil compact as it drops a level or so. There'll be a point where it slows right down, this is where i add more soil & repeat. Your cactuses will no longer drop by much if at all depending on how much you campacted by this method. Light pressing as you fill & after bouncing will compact it even more , just depends how you want to proceed. I use the aforementioned method as i don't like my cactuses sinking as i want to use the full height of the pot
Hi Ana: Did you get the new cacti from Lowe's or Home Depot? I haven't been out of the house for weeks since I'm in the high risk group. I'm very much a home body but when it's forced of course you then want to go out. If you work in the medical field I want to thank you for being there to help the ones affected by this virus. I enjoyed seeing the re-potting and so glad you did so otherwise the poor cacti might have drowned. I hope they bloom in the near future so we can see if the flowers are different colors. Take care and stay safe.
Joan Clarke, those were from Walmart. But I filmed this video early in March, before the lockdown. I just was not able to edit and upload it right away. Don’t go out! Order plants online if you need to. Stay safe, Joan and thank you so much for always watching. 😃👍🏼

Tropical Tim In the Philippines, thank you Tim! Who knows what quarantine can do to our heads. Maybe you’ll start gardening and I’ll start drinking San Miguel! 😁
I could listen to you talk for hours! My girlfriend is a Phillipina. Try turface sometime. I use it for everything. It drains like air, holds 3 times its weight in water, and can be gotten in tan or red. I got mine from Agway. It’s used for soil conditioning, and on baseball diamonds. Give it a try. Use a chopstick to work air out of roots, and removing soil. Stick it in and moving in a circular motion trill in air pockets, and the same thing to remove soil.
As I could see your cactus soil is really good . I have not seen this kind of soil here in the philippines . I been looking this in farmers garden i don't where to find this though i have not visit some of the garden shop.
Erlinda Larbonita hope you can find a good soil. Ang alam ko po, merong pumice na nabibili diyan. That is good to mix in the soil. Good luck po and ingat. 🙂☕️
My Echinopsis pups are growing tubular shaped. They started off round!! So weird but I love that they grow like super fast!! The mother plant hasn't bloomed yet... So I'm hoping next spring I'll get flowers!!
Thanks for such good tutorials.I am amazed by your flowering cacti which I have never seen before, they are gorgeous! My cacti and succulents never bloom.I am to blame because they have been neglected.I have a couple of questions: How do I make sure the potting mix including the pea pebbles are sterilized and how often do you fertilise the cacti during summer.I live in Vancouver,BC where it rains alot.
Thanks.
Yeah, these nurseries, they don't always know how to take care of succulents. My local nurseries drown them regularly. Cheers!
They are throwing pups like that because they are stressed and trying to sustain the population
At first, I thought the arrangement would look too crowded. I am pleased to see that it looks well balanced and established as if it has been like this for a long time.
☕ I'm glad you decided to repot, because you saved them from drowning.... Beautiful arrangement, Take care!!
Lol! 😄 You are right. Thanks for making me laugh. We all need positive vibes. You take care, too. Cheers to good health. ☕️
This video is definitely an ASMR, it helped me relax and sleep and I kept repeating it.

I use black gold dirt and add extra pumice to. I also add foxfarm happy frog fertilizer.
Very Nice repotting and a great harvest😄

As I could see your cactus soil is really good . I have not seen this kind of soil here in the philippines . I been looking this in farmers garden i don't where to find this though i have not visit some of the garden shop.
Erlinda Larbonita hope you can find a good soil. Ang alam ko po, merong pumice na nabibili diyan. That is good to mix in the soil. Good luck po and ingat. 🙂☕️
@@CactusCaffeine meron hinahaluan ko ng fumice at lava rock ang soil mo
My Echinopsis pups are growing tubular shaped. They started off round!! So weird but I love that they grow like super fast!! The mother plant hasn't bloomed yet... So I'm hoping next spring I'll get flowers!!
Get an old fork and bend it into a small rake to use when removing soil from roots

Wowww ganda
Hi Ana newby here sa channel at sa cactus. Thanks for sharing. May video kaba about planting from seeds? Keep safe!🌵
I’m working on it. Just waiting for the seeds to grow a bit more. 😉
Repotting or dividing any kind of plant is much easier if you do when the soil
is almost dry.
Thanks! 👍🏼
