I wish we knew a little backstory about you guys. I'm sure it takes quite a bit of money upfront to live on your very comfortable homestead. Most people would not have the money if they decided they wanted to homestead in Alaska. You have a huge dirt-moving equipment, an ATV, and a snowmobile, just to name a few, to help you have a very comfortable lifestyle. Do you have a steadily flowing income etc?
We will do a intro video soon 😊 For us, this is possible because we took the 15+ past years slowly lowering debt, paying off homes and vehicles, and living minimal. No cable, fancy trips, ect. Learning the skills one by one in free time. Investing in tools such as ATVs slowly, saving money to buy outright. You have to be resourceful. We have done various things to support our homestead; from agriculture and herd shares, to real estate in the bush. You’ll find people in communities such as ours do a little bit of everything to make it work. There is no one solution. Subsistence fish and moose help, too!
New subscriber! Love your videos so far, and love your dog. Wasn’t expecting to see a mastiff haha we are mastiff lovers! We have an 8.5 year old English mastiff and he’s my 2nd mastiff now and we are about to welcome a new English mastiff puppy in January. Less active than yours but love to see someone with a non traditional dog breed homesteading! Great video we have watched them all up to your current one.
Thank you so much! We love our mastiff, they are great dogs! We had an English many years ago as well. Our Corsos do well on the homestead as guardians, just not super cold hardy!
New subscriber. Looking forward to your channel and journey. God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister 🙏🏻 💕😇🙏🏻
Low bush cranberries are one of my favorite autumn fruit to can. Love adding cinnamon and clove for a holiday cranberry jam. Thanks for sharing your adventure and projects with us. Looking forward to following along your journey!
