Happy Venus got the win, thoroughly deserved. It has been nice to see that Azarenka has worked on her serve over the years. She seems to be hitting her spots better and generating more pace as well. Love both players

However I also think her and her sister are just playing to play at this point. They been playing tennis for 30+ years, I think she just enjoys traveling and being on a court
Not at all. All she did was giving back the balls to Azarenka. She could have ended the match much earlier if she were to be more aggressive. I dont get Venus game plan in the 2010s. She plays too much defence. Its not like she is as fast as she was in her 20s.

Venus never changed her game that much ever since she was young. She loves to play defence and that's why her 2010s result was bad. Her giving balls back to her opponent like all the time is a very bad strategy considering that she is old already by then. Serena changed her game and looked at the results. As for power, I disagree with you. During the 2010s Venus still had a lot of power.
Venus game in a nutshell is lets just put the ball back directly to her in the hopes that she can make more errors. Lets also place the ball where she can do her dangerous backhand repeatedly. Her game was so bad in the 2010s. She didn't change her game at all compared to when in the 00s.
Henin only played Venus once when Henin reached her peak game which is starting from Roland Garros 2003. So can't really count on that stats. I also wouldn't say Azarenka is one of Serena's toughest competitor. Davenport & Hingis was much more of a challenge than Azarenka was.

It’s funny that Serena’s toughest two competitors have horrible records against Venus. Henin was 2-7 against Venus, and Victoria only beat her once.
Azarenka has beaten Venus 3 times unfortunately lol (Doha & Madrid 2015, and Rome 2020). Should’ve never lost that Doha match though

If it wasn’t for the screaming match would have been better as ruins it.. the sound and also they could play better without the screaming
