  • PO-35: The BEST Feature!
    The PO-35 is the first and only (so far) Pocket Operator that lets you select your key and scale! With this, you can play all 12 notes in the western music scale, sharps and flats included. I hope that Teenage Engineering includes this on all future PO's!

    And here I thought the Speak is the weakest. Not sure why this scale feature was not included from the very first PO’s. Also that tonic drum kit is such a bonus. Thank you very much for this video!!

      The speak is a super overlooked pocket operator, but when you look at sheer number of features it beats everything else by a long shot! I wish all the other pocket operators had the scale and key selection, they would be infinitely more usable haha. Thanks for watching! I've got a live stream concert tonight at 7pm PST if you're interested btw :)

    When I bought the Tonic Bundle from TE direct (comes with the Microtonic software and the Tonic PO) I just love the idea having the program....well
    I also bought the Rick and Morty Speak as well and I purchased the Speak because of the features you just covered.
    I had seen the video with Cuckoo and Magnus Lidstrom (who developed the Speak and the Tonic) , anyway Magnus said the Speak was a much better choice,
    than the Bitspeek. He emphasized program his preference to the Speak because it is an actual Synthesizer.
    Anyway great video, I always learn something from your daily posts. It is worth way more than a dollar a month to me
    Looking forward to " less talk and more rock" Sunday. Lol

      That interview between Cuckoo and Magnus is one of my favorites. So much energy and passion in two mellow dudes!
      And thank you, seriously, from the bottom of my heart. Your support makes it very easy to keep working hard on the channel 😁

      For Sure, that interview put me over the top in getting The PO Tonic and I wanted the software

      Hey man, what would you suggest for sampling music to make chiptune video game remixes using bass through a bit crusher loop pedal? Which operator is best for sampling with mic? Speak, Rick and Morty, KO, or the Tonic? I don't have the extra money to buy the software for Tonic, but it seems the best for customizing with the drum kit...

    I'm assuming it has pentatonic as well? That would be the most useful for me.

      Not built in, but if you know what notes you're playing you can fake it easily.

    Maybe this one is more fun than the PO 33?!?

  • @lucalone
    @lucalone 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Is the PO-137 Rick + Morty able to do that, too??

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is!

  • @Sadiquecat
    @Sadiquecat 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hmm, doesn't the po 20 have a similar thing ?

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sort of. The PO-20 let's you chain chords the same way you chain patterns. There are only 16 of them, and a lot of them overlap. So while I think you can technically play every note on the PO-20, it would be impossible to play them like you can on the speak.
