    The pad fold is my FAVORITE fold... so let’s just be real about that 😂 but if I’m securing a flat around my babies then this is my go-to! Plus it doesn’t need a closure ❤️

    I love this so much. I have pocket diapers right now but my little one STAYS wetting through them at night. I got some flats to try and I've watched this video like 10 times in a row to get the hang of it lol. I even practiced on my older kids big baby doll lol. Thank you so much for this.

    Jay, I just wanted to let you know that this fold is brilliant!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you very much for this video!! I was very disappointed with other folds and thinking maybe cloth diapers are not for us and your video was a real blessing! We use it now since about 4 months and we love it😃❤️ I shared your fold on Polish cloth diaper Facebook group and other moms love it as well ☺️☺️ Greetings from Poland ❤️

    I only bought four flats to try out since I’ve been doing the aio route. Fiancé hated them. They weren’t easy to secure around our baby the way I folded. This fold is PERFECT. Thank you 😍 I need more flats now lol this is a game changer for sure!

    Awesome 👏 when I used flats with my other baby’s I just pad folded because I guess I was intimidated by other types of folds, but I think I will like this one with baby number 3. She’s going to be here sooner than anticipated because my placenta is starting to have problems 😬 it’s twice as thick as it should be with a couple small holes and is starting to calcify. So at the latest she will be here on March 1st instead of the 13th. I’m so ready to just have her here already it’s been a stressful few weeks.

    • @JaysNest
      @JaysNest  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      stretchy flats are the best for this fold. I wasnt a fan of it with a non-stretchy. I think imagine is 2way which isnt appealing to me because my mind is having a hard time figuring out how to fold it to get the stretchiness to be on the tabs.

    • @JaysNest

      I think you get more flats with more yards.
      Off the top of my head I can’t think of the math 😂
      Maybe 2 from 1 yard? That’s probably a bad guess. I made toddler flats 30x30 in my diy stretchy flat video. But I don’t even remember how many I made. I’d have to rewatch the ending lol I think 1 got somewhere from 4-6 flats from 2 yards.

    Hi, this was such a nice video! I am planning to do cloth diapering (covers and flats) for my expected baby from newborn to potty training. It would grateful if you can help me with building my minimum stash of covers and flats for entire span including night time solution. Like what brand to buy, how many and what sizes for diaper covers and flats. Thanks in advance 😊

    • @JaysNest
      @JaysNest  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can’t tell you what will work best for you but I can give you a few recommendations! Babies need different absorbencies at different stages so just keep that in mind when building your stash.
      If you’re diapering a newborn then I have a bunch of videos about that already.
      6-8 covers for a minimum amount.
      24-30 flats for a minimum amount. You could always get by with less especially for a toddler. You’d be washing every day if you had 12-15 flats.
      Depending on your energy level and budget then either of those would work just fine.
      There are a lot of brands and they all have their pros and cons. Covers I use:
      Flip, nickis diapers, imagine, thirsties, Alva, happy Flute, Petite Crown, luludew.
      Flats I use: nickis diapers, diaper rite, green mountain diapers, geffen, nickis knickers, seed to sapling, flat bottoms, fruit of the womb. There are so many brands out there for every price range.
      I like keeping doublers for my diapers for added absorbency when my girls need it: geffen hemp inserts are great!
      I have a video on my current nighttime solution but it changes as my children’s needs change. I use geffen flats and stretchy flats for nighttime. I did make a video on it. I can’t give you a suggestion that’ll be great for you. Nighttime diapering is trial and error, but I always share what works for me!
      I did recently make a video on my nighttime solutions with flats.
      The most important part about cloth diapers are making sure they’re absorbent enough for your specific child and that it fits! And as long as you’ve got those 2 things down then you can make any brand work for you ❤️ It’ll take a little trial and error to get the absorbency right.
      I hope that’s semi helpful. It’s always hard on my end to give recommendations because I can only speak from my experience. And I know that what I use doesn’t work for everybody.

    I know this is a three days ago post but I have questions.
    How many diapers do you bring for one baby for the span of 4 to 6 hrs? Baby's age 5 to 7 months. Just starting soilds.
    For a wiggly baby do you recommend snaps or velcro? Do you like flats more or prefolds for a wiggly baby? Can you still do flats with a very wiggly baby? How or what is the easiest way to prepare a flat for on the go for an example do you do the fold before hand and keep it staff with a snappi?

    • @JaysNest
      @JaysNest  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the Go:
      I bring 1 diaper for every 2 hrs I’m gone + 1 extra because I overpack lol. I also have ran out of diapers before because of an extra poopy baby so I’d rather be prepared.
      I’m not a fan of Velcro for the longevity. It’s not something that holds well over time. Tots bots and thirsties have the best Velcro on the market. Velcro also doesn’t have a great resale. It’s worth trying to see if you like it though. I’d definitely recommend thirsties or tots bots Velcro. I prefer snaps on my diapers but I loved Velcro for the newborn stage with willow (but hated Velcro newborn diapers with Scarlett lol.. my opinion always changes).
      In general I just love flats. I pad fold them. I rarely pin them around my children, especially if they’re wiggly. Prefold are easier to pad fold. I personally wouldn’t bother with fancy folds on a wiggly baby lol. Too much energy and stress for me to do that. So team pad fold here! You might like the ease of prefolds if you’re doing the pad fold.

    Girl! Feeling so spoiled with all of the FaceTime! 😍❤️ 2 videos in a few days, say what?!?! Also, I need to find some stretchy flats! I always get all the heart eyes when watching people use them on their babies! Do you ever add a Geffen insert before putting the flat on baby or between the flat and cover?

    • @JaysNest
      @JaysNest  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know, I’m spoiling you 😜 don’t get used to it because I’ll probably crash this week 😂 you can always tell when I’m feeling creative and inspired because I put out so many videos lol. I should really space them out but who has time for that 😉🤷🏻‍♀️ #TeamBigHeadDoesntHaveTimeForThat hahah
      I do occasionally add an Geffen insert! I don’t really have a preference to where I put it though.. at least right now I don’t. I’ve put it under the flap, on top, and underneath. I’m not crazy about putting it underneath. If I *had* to choose a favorite then I’d choose putting it under the flap!
