I love the fact that they live in they worst conditions possible but they still care about what matter the most: Family & Community.
Nothing has changed In the real world for situations like this either that’s what’s sooooo sad! People in positions of power ignoring the buildings is something I notice in every episode! Fast forward today and it’s real!

@miguelvieira70 Doesn't seem brighter, but more communal for sure. Maybe it's just where you were when you first watched this show that makes it so bright. I love this show to death man glad you love it too, lol.
If it makes you feel any better projects nowadays (at least in some places) are a lot better places to live than back in the 90’s and 00’s. I live in Chicago’s west side and the projects here are way less sketchy than a lot of other parts of the city.
This is the show!!! Eddie Murphy is a comedic genius and living legend !!! I have to mention Loretta Devine, Cassi Davis, Janet DuBois, and Jenifer Lewis!!! All legendary Queens!!! This show is a straight classic ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

No. Boondocks is a complete different show with a different purpose
Both shows are very different, both are very good. They are both animated, and both focus mainly on black characters, but that's about where the similarities end. Boondocks is a bit more intense, PJs is a bit more light hearted.

When this show aired, I was a really small child and this style of stop motion animation was really deep in my uncanny valley. Now that I'm older I can appreciate the art style a lot more, especially with all the effort clearly put into animating it, but I still get that residual uncanny valley feeling when I look at some stop motion
