It's perfect for house, techno, deep and all those long, multilayered tracks that have room for experimentation. Amazing. A rotary version would be a dream.
+Max16032 You can switch it to rotary mode. The Channel faders become the wet and dry for the effects. and the effect wet and dry knob becomes the volume knob. Thats the way i use it. Really nice to punch in delay and reverb hits.
Does anybody know how to MIDI map this Mixer as a controller.. I been trying to figure it out... I read the manual and still can’t get it to map to Ableton

So, 5 months ago I purchased a A&H Xone DB4 mixer. Now, the power supply seems to be broken and A&H responds with a repair cost of 180 Euros stating the power supply unit isn’t covered in the Warranty clauses. The thing is that the mixer never left my house since I’m a beginner DJ and don’t go mobile for gigs.. Also, I don’t live in a cabin in the woods using some kind of electrical generator. So A&H, you can wave your warranty clauses as hard as you want; from a client perspective I feel that I’m not treated fairly !

Hello Rejazz, The MIDI implementation for the Xone:DB4 can be found in the user guide (p41-43). www.allen-heath.com/media/XoneDB4_ug_ap7977_4.pdf Please note, that the Xone:DB4 does not have tri coloured LEDs in most of the switches and controls. Should be a DB 10 or 8 as a minimum with digital inputs for cdjs and digital main output. Compressor on most channels effects that sync extremely well higher end sound conversion and low latency now in 2023 2024 ..and some sound broadcasting features .. midi out port clocking midi syncing with cdj’s to their grid would be ideal for the xone mixers
I love the my DB4 but...... its not even 4 months old and it froze on me twice during gig....all controls were useless and the left side gave a pitched noise... had to reboot TWICE...... the sound guy at the venue wasnt happy lemme tell you.......2nd problem ,,,,,effects on the 4th channel sometimes not working, only after reboot........and the 3rd and main problem, on the xlr output right side frying bacon noise for first 5 min after turn on........and no its not a cable problem.....sounds 10 times better than any of my pioneer mixers, but my pioneers never let me down....and i hate to say this cause i had high hopes for this mixer, and i truly love it but its far from stable........and update did not help either......,........cheers
DB4 was so far ahead of its time and 14 years on it's still an absolute beast. Sound quality and FX still hard to beat. It's an instrument.
