I love this documentary and it is nice to know what Milo is doing with her life after gymnastics. It is a shame that it was so short - that is my only regret. I wish the documentary was much longer. Glad that it is in English.

To anyone training in Romania:if you ever have acoach hit you or is verbally abusive
and he yells a lot at you and insults you please don't let him get away with it.
Some coaches in the Eastern Block countries are very cruel. Do complain
to someone you know, There is a democracy in Romania, and people can
say now whatever they want, there is freedom of speech. Don't forget that.

emmaionescu: i agree with you. In the ultra-material world and mindset of the people of the U.S.A. there´s this tendency to see things in terms of being "fancy" or not. They should check on the medal tables for gymnastics in the olympics, say, of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s to see where the "fancy trained" gymnasts of the U.S.A. stand versus the gymnasts of the former USSR (now Russia or Ukraine), Romania and the former East Germany. Guaranteed: they will be shocked to see what the results were.

IF I may answer your question on why Romanians don't win every time...there are two reasons primarily:
a)Money, we don't have enough for our gymnastics system to function at peak efficiency.
b)The number of gymnasts is too low, currently(2013) Romania has ~3000 gymnasts both male/female from kindergarten to elite, that's our entire pool of athletes.
There are other reasons too but those should suffice in answering your question.

Kamadeva01 Well, that are not the only reasons. Plus, you have to think that gymnastics doesn't only mean artistic gymnastics, but also rythmic and aerobic (and the latter becomes more and more popular in Romania). The biggest problem is that coaches are not allowed to train like 20-30-40 years ago. A gymnast will not train 10 to 14 hours a day not even before big competitions and are not allowed to miss school month in a row like before (if you try to listen some of the old gymnasts, it is terrible; not all, but some can't even finish a sentence in their own language). Now children have rights and if they think they are treated unfair, they can complain and start a big media scandal (remember Ponor's scandal? that was the reason Bellu and Bitang left). This was not possible before, they all had strict programs, what to eat, when to eat, when to train, when to sleep. So it is difficult to compete with girls from Russia and China that still do have this kind of program and sometimes even with the ones from US. True, they also have a lot of freedom, but as Bela said, before big competitions, they do train 10 to 12 hours a day. AND they have a good uneven bars coach. This is missing in Romania. Although, a very good one works in UK now. Probably why they also started earning medals. Pitty Romania can't appreciate talent.

How much do you have to pay per month for the classes
any privileges you and the other gymnasts are given? (ex:
    use of cell phones,etc.)

    @TheRomanitza
That's rights. The thing is that the young gymnasts in Romania are too scared of speaking out when coaches abuse them physically or verbally. They have to be brave and tell the authorities about it! If not the abuse is going to continue and it will never end.

Americans are on top thanks to romanian coach, only after Nadia's coach start to work in U.S..In time many romanian gimnasts move in US and coach there. Now 4 from 5 coach in US are romanians,so the best school in the world is romanian school.23 countries have romanian coach.US,Great Britain are in top thanks to romanians.Only Russia have not romanians coach. You are productive with our contribution:romanian one!

I was training at Dinamo club in Bucharest when that happened to Andriana...that idiot coach deserves life in prison and not a day earlyer. He wasn't my coach though but we all knew for sure that he has a habbit of hitting his girls. Still that doesn't mean all coaches are the same, my coach and second coach (former champion Simona Pauca) were amazing

@Chuckie1028: Nothing wrong with materialism though; its human nature. The point is Americans are the most materialistic people on planet earth. Now, about gymnastics, yes...precisely the best American gymnast during Beijing was Anastasia Valeryevna Liukin, daughter of Valery Liukin and Anna Kotchneva, do yo know who these persons are? Also you are wrong, from where do you get Americans are # 1 gymnasts in the world? At Beijing gymnastics they were # 2, behind China.

the reason Romanians don't use grips in competitions is because you have a better feel of the bar without them. However if you look at practises you will see that they (we) use grips. It is a matter of preference....look at Chinese gymnasts...they don't use grips either. So before making statements like " i know they cant afford grips" make sure you really know what the hell you are talking about
