- A great Hamfest in Adrian. The local airport hosted the event. Lots of vintage electronics, good people, beautiful weather. Had a great time, picked up a few goodies. Saw lots of nice classics. People were joining in on the video. So, get yourself a drink, sit back and enjoy the walk thru.

The beauty of going to flea markets is seeing all the equipment that you don't have to own, lift, test, or fix.
It's really nice seeing kids interested in this stuff. Keeps them out of trouble.

Talking book radio my nan had one years back she was blind in her later years don't know how it worked but remember her using it 55 years ago,what a great ham fest in Australia all those radios would be sold in the first 5 minutes.73 from vk3.

Like an Ozzie Hamfest - apart from the guns and knives obviously. Amateur Radio is an absolute rabbit hole once you get into it - so many things to do and play with.

Getting into HAM gives you purpose to having test equipment. I have a little daughter, it's very hard to get her interested in HAM and electronics. Kids these days are sadly playing games on smartphones which are addictive.
Got my novice license in 1953 used a crystal controlled CW only Eldico transmitter and a National NC125 receiver.My first contact was on 80 meters with a station in Tennessee.Passed technician test in 1954 and General in 1955.Joined the Navy as an RMSN and made RM3 in 6 months.I have many memories of Hamfests,Transmitter hunts and field days.Still active as a W8 on repeaters.
Great hobby that lost touch with young people or Vice a versa.
Always great to go to a hamfest you never know what type of boat anchors people are selling. I am a sucker for boat anchors my house has them in every room of my 4 bedroom house lol.

I used to rebuild 1950s-60s era AA5 radios and often came across tubes which were covered in TAR. I often ended up cleaning them with alcohol.
AA5's are dangerous shock hazard.

Sorry about your dog Terry. It's tough loosing a companion like that. Wish there were some nice hamfests closer to me. I would need a box truck to take all of my goodies. I like buying more than selling though.
The talking book radio is what they call a radio reader. It is a SCA radio that there will be someone reading the local newspapers and local interest magazines for the visually impaired. It is usually broadcasted by a NPR statiion. My father K9GOX Sk had one of them because he had no sight.
Да, ребята, это Мекка для радиолюбителей! Подобное в нашем регионе было в Лисичанске. Чтобы просто обойти и бегло посмотреть нужно было более часа. Купить можно было, практически, - все. Одних , хорошо сделанных усилителей штук 15 -20. Импортных TRCVR - примерно столько же. Комплектующие на любой вкус и "карман ". Там можно было и культурно выпить и пообщаться! Не говоря о том, что либо прикупить! Эх - ностальгия ! Всем добра! UR5MD

Thanks for the tour! It’s been quite a few years since I’ve been to any ham fest (Dayton 2006) since I relocated to the EU. Always appreciate these virtual tours! Hoping to get back to the States next year for the big five-0 class reunion, too bad there are not many hamfests around the July 4th holiday in central Ohio. It would be nice to kill two birds with one stone. 73 from SV9 land!

Hi from 8vxh RFDS op in Victoria Australia, wow that's an awesome lot of gear at the ham sale, thanks for the tour of the sale as for the past week we were Totaly flooded out here in Seymour as the Golben River ad flooded almost a kilometer into the township most of the shops wer totaled and the train was delayed for over a week as the entry from inbound was overcome all around the shops side, it was the Seymour lake for almost a week so it was good to view something worthwhile for a change, thanks again for the vidio, now Sunday October the 23d and it's starting for the river to decide slowly as it's still over the banks at the moment, as it normally eighty meters above see level its still around two meters over at the moment as it enitialy rose to around four meters and had peaked at around four point five over night of MondayMorning the 16th of October I liked the runaround vidio thanks fr that.!

Hate to say it but that SCA receiver is tuned to only one station with the SCA service. Those radios are owned by the reading service and are requested to be returned if they are no longer needed so they can sent on to someone who has vision or reading disabilities. They should not be sold. I service those radios for our reading service and sometimes they are retrieved from the trash or found in places like ham fests and flea markets with the labels to return them to the reading service still on them.

Sadly CB isn't being used much anymore. Find an old one and convert it to 10m HAM. Swap the crystals.
