Thank you for making the bottom of the bodice drop below the waist line. I bought a dupe of this dress along with following a different sewing pattern and both had the bodice ending just under my rib cage! I've seen a few other tutorials for this dress and I have to say yours is the most detailed I have come across. Thank you for taking the time to show us how to make this lovley dress.
Wow, thank you for such a sweet comment! I'm really glad I was able to help! And it's such a pity they were both ending at the waistline... the drop waist is one of the many details of this style that makes it stand out to me. The sillouette looks so pretty when it's lower!
did this dress myself, love this video, was super helpful, however just a a bit of feedback: try and use a smooth cord when making the back lacing, as fabric cording can be quite tough on the fabric and cause it to tear. i bought some at the fabric store and it really made my dress feel better and wear better :)
i just followed ur pleated skirt tutorial and it worked so well! gonna keep making some tops and skirts and hopefully in the summer i'll be good enough to make this dress!

Hi! Love your tutorial, everything has turned out perfectly so far… except for the zipper, my fabric is on the lighter side and I’ve re-tried a couple times now and added a stabilizing fabric as well, and I can’t seem to get rid of the waves! I’ve done so much research online but can’t figure out how to fix this without seam ripping the whole thing and starting again. Any advice? Thank you I love your channel!

How mch fabric would you recommend to use? I found the perfect fabric but I have so many other project to finish first (also it's winter in my part of the world now). So I'd love to buy the fabric now but actually make it in a few months...
I used 2 meters of fabric, but I really don't recommend getting just that. I think my fabric was also a little bit wider than normal (maybe 160cm wide?), which makes a huge difference when it comes to fitting the pattern pieces side by side. But even though it was wider, I had to place one of the skirts upside down in order for it to fit, which will not work if you have a directional pattern for your fabric. Mine was a solid color, so it was fine. But I cut the lining for the cups on another fabric, and I had no leftovers at all. It also depends on the size you make, but I think it's better to be safe than sorry.
I think you should get at least 3 meters to be safe. Because if you buy less and it's not enough later on, you might not be able to find the fabric again.

Hey Caroline! I have two questions 😅 I want to put on push up bra paddings inside, should I measure my bust just as it is like you did or should I wear my push up bra and then do the measurements? And my second question is: is the fabric stretching or stiff? I live in a non English speaking country so I can't really find the exact name for the fabric you're using therefore I'm trying to find the closest match. This is amazing work thank you so much ❤
Hi my dear! I think it's better to measure while wearing the bra! And the fabric doesn't have any stretch. Is 100% cotton. Try searching for something like cotton poplin. I think this is the correct name in English, so I think it would be easier to find the translation that way

Hi Caroline, I am about to attempt to make this dress for my girlfriend for her birthday. I have made her a dress last year but that is really the extent of my previous sewing experience. Do you have any additional advice for me before embarking, I have a singer heavy duty machine good scissors. Also what thread should I be using.

Hi Patrick! I think the Heavy Duty machine is really good. Other than what's in the video, I can't think of anything right now, but if you have any questions along the way, you can ask me! About the thread.. I just used normal polyester thread, nothing really special about it
O vestido ficou lindo! Quantos metros de tecido você recomendaria comprar? Acho que eu só precisaria fazer a saia um pouco mais longa (tenho 1,73m mas as outras medidas parecem bem similares às suas).
Obrigada, querida ❤️ Eu tenho 1,80m de altura, e fiz minha saia com uns 80cm de comprimento, se não me engano. Eu usei 2 metros no total, mas eu tive que fazer uns malabarismos pra conseguir cortar tudo. Uma saia teve que ficar de cabeça pra baixo, o que não teve problema já que o tecido não era estampado. E o forro do copo também foi com outro tecido. Não sobrou nadinha no final. Caso você não tenha muita experiência cortando tecido, acho que pelo menos 2,5m seria o ideal. É melhor sobrar do que acabar faltando depois. Qualquer dúvida que você tiver, pode me perguntar!

I would love if this pattern came in more bust and band sizes, 28 B and none of the bust sizes for the current pattern will work for me. 😩😩😩😩😩
The pattern comes with instructions on how to alter the cup/bodice pieces for bigger and smaller cup sizes, but if you need extra assistance with that you can also send me an email (contact@coralinestreet.com) with your questions and I'll help you out!

Eu usei tricoline 100% algodão em todas as versões que fiz. Nunca usei o crepe Amanda, mas acho que funcionaria também!
