The Juliana Corset Dress is a sexy, chic and romantic dress. It has a corset style bodice with boning to give extra support, and back lacing to help you cinch up the waist. It has an adjustable gathered bust with ties and thick straps, with the option to add removable foam cups. The beautiful v-shaped waistline hits lower than your natural waist, to help shape your body, and it also has a midi A-line skirt with a side slit.
It comes with 11 different size options, from size US 0-20 (or EU 32-52), fitting a wide range of bodies, and each size comes with 3 different cup options, making the fit even more customizable.
The pattern comes with detailed descriptions of each step with illustrations and images to aid you along the way, and a full video tutorial.

I really appreciate having video tutorials for the dress too! I bought the pattern but the instructions can never be as clear as a video tutorial so this will probably shorten my sewing time by atleast half

This has to be one of the best patterns I’ve ever bought! I’m not even finished sewing yet and I can tell it’s going to fit so well! Suggestion on how to make the dress more full? I want almost a circle skirt
I've got the pattern and I am planning on making a fuller skirt- I will use another pattern I have to match the drape correctly. Mostly, it looks like making the skirt angles 'wider' will work. I will get back to you if it doesn't work.
I love this type of dresses however Im 75A lol I wish I had a bigger chest it would look flattering
My chest is also very small, but I got some help from the removable foam cups 😅... but I get it that it might not be everybody's taste

which size did you use for yourself?
I made a size 34, and my measurements are: 82cm Bust, 65cm Waist and 96cm Hips. The only alteration I made for myself was to lenghten the torso by 2,5cm, and make the skirt longer as well, because I'm 181cm tall!

So I made it- Big Hint: If you absolutely fall in love with a floral gauze-like stretchy fabric and say "I'll just stabilize it with an interfacing", be prepared to do extra work on getting the bust to lay/hang right. I ended up using a ton of shirring- style nip and tucks instead of interfacing in the bust because otherwise it hung like the side of a mushroom top. It was my fault for not sticking to the correct style fabric, but it is something to keep in mind for all us intermediate sewers out there! I seem to think I can modify patterns, use different fabrics, etc. when it is clearly, in hindsight, a tad beyond my ability. However, I would point out that the corset waist and skirt came out fabulous with just the interfacing as recommended in the directions.

The pattern provides the amount of fabric you need for each size, and a cutting guide to help you place the pattern pieces properly on the fabric!

i just got the pattern and i’m new at sewing- i made a mock up without the removable cup part and now that i’m actually making the dress i’m struggling to do a zig zag stitch for the opening 🥲 any tips or recommended videos pleasee?
You mean the slit of the cups? I think it could be easier if you pull both edges untill they're making a straight line, instead of having to sew and pivot. But if it's too difficult you can also make it a hole instead of a cut, so it has a curve. Maybe it will be easier that way? Since I didn't have trouble sewing this part I'm not sure what exactly is the issue

Yes! Maybe not using the straps and adding puff sleeves with elastic at the top, to make sure they won't fall?
if we forgo making the slit in the dress is there enough fabric to comfortably step/run with the dress on? :D
I have never made the dress without the slit, but one of my pattern testers did and it wasn't an issue! And the skirt is really flared out, so I don't think it would restrict your movements at all!

Can this dress be made in Satin? What are the pros and cons?
If you choose to make it in satin, I would recommend adding fusible interfacing to the bodice pieces. Otherwise you won't get any support for the corset effect. The skirt will be more flowy and have less structure as well, which would also look gorgeous. The only issue would be the bodice, but as long as you interface it, I think you won't have a problem.

can you use flexible metal boning instead of plastic?
I only used the plastic boning to make it because it's the most easily available where I live. But I believe any type of boning would work! You just need to make them the right size for the channels and not forget about finishing the edges before adding them to the dress.
