Also most of those great rookie seasons came from a team that had a really good offensive line and a good running game. CJ had no help, he lifted that team up, unlike a dak prescott who just had a complete team that he inherited and the best offensive line in football. The low interceptions are impressive, but normally when you see a rookie with low interceptions it is coupled with check down throws and easy out routes to the flat. Stroud was slinging it and pushing it down the field from day 1.
it's hard not to say it was stroud. his play this season as a rookie with a rookie head coach, with the team coming off a horrible season was flat out impressive.
Stroud blew everyone away on and off the field. He couldn't be more likeable and genuine on top of his play on the field. I'm excited I'll get to watch him grow and mature in Houston under DeMeco who is as rock solid as they come himself

Absolutely. 3-10 team. Rookie HC. 90% new players. Rookie OC. Everyone new except Special teams coach. And made the playoffs 2nd round. Set multiple rookie records, regular and postseason. And Montana and Brady records. Hands down. The only way to top this in winning a SB I guess.
Great work love the content Jordan! Not to overly critique you here but doesn’t he have one of the best TD to INT ratios out of those rookies? That should be factors since he missed those two games and didn’t surprise lucks statistics.

When you look back at some of the records CJ broke like Most passes without INT all time not just rookie but all time , single game passing record for rookie 475 yards. The third player ever to lead in yards per game with beat TD to int ratio the other two guys was Joe Montana and Tom Brady . Most pasting yards by rookie in playoff debut and he did it against the number one defense and by halftime so yeah I’d say he had greatest rookie season ever and he missed two games
I think the turnaround in that franchise was also a lot due to Slowik and Ryans really hitting the ground running. Not trying to take anything away from Stroud but it’s only fair to also mention the other people who helped the franchise around hin

Luck achieved the better turnaround with 9 additional wins to Stroud's 7, and a lot of the Texans' turnaround came from the defense led by DROY Will Anderson. The 2012 Colts' defense improved a little from 2011, but it still was well below average. Freeney was already in decline, while Mathis was still a year away from his career best.
Dan Marino. Marino guided the Dolphins to a 14-2 record and a division crown.

Come on bro- seen this script for years now- rookie qb has a great first year then defenses adapt to his spots and speed- let’s see if he sinks or swims next year
Fair criticisms, but I’m going to play devils advocate on the defense finding his spots cause there were SOOO many pinpoint passes. For example, I remember Herbert’s rookie year and it was great, but it was a lot of deep shots and check downs to eckler and have him get some YAC. CJ was lasered on a lot of 15 yard throws and defensively there were a lot of schemes where the right defense was called, it’s just stroud found which guy slipped up. He’s as good as his playmakers allow him to be just like every QB and vice versa. I see nothing wrong with hyping him up compared to Mac Jones. Tape wise both great rookies right? But tape wise the passes of CJ are much MUCH more elite and lo and behold they found out Mac
