@@jacobconklin4418 Fuel on the water is over $4.00 a gallon x 2400+ gallons burned. I would imagine in the Bahamas it was higher than that so he probably spent closer to $12,000 in fuel.
jpat99 wow so they really just up the price cause you’re on the water? I guess it makes sense for marines... and I went off 850 miles x3.50 A= roughly $ 7,2000
let us do the math.... Let us say you buy/trade in an old boat and get 300k for it and use it as a down payment: 1) 300k down 2) 1.2 million purchase 3) 3% interest loan on 900,000k loan (total minus down payment) 4) At a 60 month term (5 years), this is a $16,112 per month payment 5) you have to do 4 trips a month at 4k just to cover the boat COST!!!!!
Yeah i did the math on fuel, with gas prices in cali where i live there and back would be about $8k of fuel. in Alabama this is more like 4-5k but still. Just for gas.
@@gavinhosler5503 Marina gas isn't even close to $2/gal here in Orange Beach, definitely not the Bahamas. It's closer to $10k in fuel, probably more given the Bahamas.
Fantastic !!! It made me nervous watching you "at speed" in darkness. Glad you didn't hit anything, even with radar on it can be a challenge. What a machine.
Michael Kallelis It's not to unusual to run in the dark offshore. I am not to able now but we did a lot of Fishing and Diving at Night for Flounder around the Liberty Ships here in the northern Gulf. Out of Dauphin Island Al and Orange Beach. Did that for years. Don't recall hitting anything at Night But there are Logs in the Gulf that come down from Mobile Bay - Rivers. Did hit a BIG Turtle one day. Lots of Diving at Night 20 miles out ! Miss it really bad !
Michael is right, you guys are not offshore yet and should not run 48mph with less then a 100 feet of visibility inside of the liberty ship. Although that radar is impressive, and that may be all that is needed to open it up at night. I wouldn’t know, most of us wouldn’t know, most of us would have towed. And that is not a 20 mph head wind at day break, maybe inside the storm it was that was 10 miles to the west.
Wow I have been out of the online boating forums loop. Invincible and Sea Hunter making big cats and Chris Bazor the Fountain and Nor-Tech king is rocking a big cat. Dayum...
We did the same trip from OBA to ALbacos back in 2018. But we were on a 33 Grady express and made a few stops along the way. Cut through Lake Okeechobee to West Palm. Definitely a bucket list trip! We stayed in Treasure Cay and Marsh Harbor.
Impressive ride and a great testament for the invincible Thanks for sharing. Your grander videos are always informative, no matter which boat you're highlighting. If I get the opportunity to go bigger on the boat I will be giving you a call.
BTW, Im here from the Haulover Inlet video, this boat is hands down better than anything Ive ever seen mph to mph! The Haulover vids are great advertisement for you, I watch them to make hull purchase decisions.
Incredible trip and incredible video! I’ll be moving to Saint Pete beach Florida soon and I’ve been curious about going to the Bahamas by water from Tampa and you did it from Alabama! So awesome 👍 I’ll be sure to look into Invincible cats when it’s time to get a boat!
I know it is far, but not sure what way you got there. I find the shortest route a bit shorter than 800 nautical miles. I find it to be around 720 and it was still not the shortest way. Nice video. Liked
I spend a good deal of time in Orange Beach (boat at Sportsman's) and I think that is your place on canal near Bear Point. I have thought of doing a version of this trip to Islamorada in my Everglades but breaking it into two days. We are heading out next Friday for a week. Overall getting the weather right is key especially since I don't have a cat hull. Very interesting to see the 0.8 consumption with quads. My buddy's 36' Yellowfin with 350 trips gets about 0.7.
I'm not going to be the one that wonders about BillyBob sitting on the back of the boat w/o a PFD on. Of course, that'd be the least of his concerns after skipping acoss the water at 50 mph.
boat holds 800 gallons? But you burned 863.6 Took on gas in Largo? Yeah now wild about bladders, always worried they will split a seam. I saw a guy run to the Bahamas with a bladder and it was jumping all around the deck in rough water. You ran on my Birthday JULY 20 the day Mel Fisher found his treasure. Born in Key West.
You dont know another vessel you could that in? How about the one vessel that all of these "new" cats are modeled off of? I don't believe i need to name the manufacturer. Overall, impressive trip and i am sure a bucket list item to accomplish.
I’m surprised you are running on plane at night. I’m out of Texas but every time I’m out in the gulf I’ve come across pretty significant debris that I’d want to a avoid. Any thoughts on that risk?
Also, Im sure you are running at max efficiency at about 60 mph, for the Bermuda race could you make it with a bladder averaging 70 if sea conditions permitted? LMK if you need crew!!
Great run! thanks for posting. Quick question, do those motors have a run-in period or can you just go hard straight out of the box (which you seemed to do). Also, did you need to check oil each time you set off? Just curious really as most motors have a heavier run-in oil (plus metal particles). Maybe these are run-in at factory?
What a trip. Goals right there, to spend almost $10,000 in fuel that’s incredible.
What kind of fuel does he run? 130 octane? Lol

They have FLIR night vision cameras
Nice trip. Good way to test the boat endurance.
That boat saw blue water, green water, fresh water and never skipped a beat. Amazing machine. Epic, epic trip.
Bet y’all can’t wait to do something similar with the upcoming Invincible 46 Catamaran!
God bless your family. Nice trip with an incredible boat and engines

Absolute machine with the vrods. Great video
Thanks 👍
Were there any crab traps near shore? Really afraid to go over them at night!
You were lucky to visit that part of the Bahamas before Dorian tore it up. It will never recover to what it used to be like in my life time.

Mercury #1 on the water.

With that kind of money spent I would have gone all the way and toured a lot of the Bahamas besides just one island.

now that's how you break the motors in.
For the average boater that is how you break the BANK. Fuel costs are out of reach for most.
That's f u money right there
Awesome! Now go to the dominican from Stuart
