- We tried #vanlife in Australia and we see how a van rental compares to our van in New Zealand and our self-converted van back in the United States. It's been really cool seeing different types of vans and I'm sure you can tell which is our favorite. ;)

I think my favorite thing about Taku is that he ALWAYS compliments Jocelyns cooking. Always. She doesn't always comment on his, and he is the chef, but he never fails to compliment hers.
It's genuine too. A lovely couple.
Happy wife, happy life
I recognize that blue boat, hoping there is a collab episode with @rokkit kit! and @outdoor chef life both my favorite TH-camrs! Safe travels guys, enjoy and have fun
Was checking the comments to see if anyone else saw his boat!
Great video Taku & Jocelyn! Great to see the differences how you, who cared, designed your van and how another was prepped for people who didn’t know the difference. Lol.
Your rice balls looked so good.
Thanks for sharing!!!
It's definitely been interesting getting to experience other vans!
Save me some! That kimchi with rice ball looks amazing!!! 😁👍🏾
I was so hyped to see you guys go to NZ as an Australian, but now your here! I am thrilled to see what your experiences and thoughts are here and hope you guys enjoy it here🇦🇺🦘
Welcome guys - hope you have a great time here :)
Thanks!
Lovely van with plenty of room space. Thumb up. Yes, can't wait to watch your video trip....🥰
Always have the epic tunes! Churr from NZ
Nice! Rokkit Kit is the best TH-camr out there

Glad to see you Down Under and I hope you have a great time .
Safe and good travels...!!!
That van is better than the red van but not as good as your van. You two did such a great job on your van. Well thought out and efficient. What a great trip you are on. So great! All the best!
Been following your channel since you arrived to NZ! Welcome to Australia!! how exciting you are here...
👍
Have a fantastic time Taku and Joce! Let me know if you're in town, near Perth!
Awesome more videosss! 🤙
You are my favorite people to watch on you tube
I’m pretty sure that camp ground you stayed it is the same one I stayed at in Hervey Bay? It’s a great place. thinking about moving there.
Dang it, knew you guys wouldn't travel so far to only go to NZ. Would REALLY love it if you did an invasive species episode on the European Carp that plagues many of our waterways especially the Mighty Murray River system. It might hopefully help convince people to try to eat them and help eradicate them, or at least lessen the amount of them.
Rented RV's of any type and size are always going to have their issues mainly because they truly get some abuse by the renters. Sadly, the crew that service those rentals do not go through them 100% and check everything for normal operation. It's usually a lot of little things, the conveniences, intermitent failures etc. that get overlooked and never addressed. Seems so simple to take a rental return that you are familiar with and prepare them for the next renter...its not all that much work and if you have a checklist to be consistent, most of these issues should get corrected before they get rented again.
We rented RV's back in the day and decided it wasn't worth the inconvenience of unloading and loading a rental every time we went on a trip. We forgot things too during that process and it was frustrating. Ultimately, we purchased our own and kept it stocked up with basics, had it set up to please us, added and remodeled items, replaced cheap parts with good parts etc. and customized them to fit our needs. That was the best process for taking trips because all was ready to go except for the refrigerated and fresh food items. Yes, we had to maintain them but that was a given from the day of deciding which way to go with RV camping. The first rental we used was a "Teardrop Trailer" which was probably one of the best little campers when it came to value and functionality. Our very first "RV" was an Apache tent trailer with a stove and sink only...the last RV was a 22' travel trailer and our final RV was a 3/4 T truck with telescoping camper. By then or 15 or so years later, RV life wasn't in our blood any longer. All great experiences though. No solar panels, no inverters, no "bathrooms"...all the technology out at those times were 12v batteries, propane, white gas etc. Power came from portable generators that maybe had 800 watts. Todays' RV's are hotel rooms compared to what we had.
Nice boat😂 I guess Rod will be on soon👍
Joclyn, your excitement @ 01:31 of the video is good to see. I know this is going to be a good show! Now, back to the show.
Those cabinet doors are marine style, just no locking device.
Sweet Van👍,well i guess not so Sweet but better than the Red one?
Enjoy your Trip.
Hope to see you soon🖐🌞.
JO JO IN VT 💞
Welcome to the land down under.. hope to bump into you guys :)
Awesome! Man I want to go so bad. You better get you a mud crab!!!!
Great awesome video and scenery of Australia ! Stay safe.
Welcome to Australia. My country home I'm from tassie eg Tasmania :) have fun. P.s traveled from experience around the country with my family the van stuff like cutlery etc moves around in the van whilst moving but doesn't fall out. My dad owns a van most vans non of it fall out and also traveled in a van on rocky roads before and nothing fell out.
Is New Zealand the new home base? Would you consider doing a travel plan video just with whatever you feel comfortable sharing? I enjoy seeing all the new places and adventures, it's inspired my travel for the summer.
It took me a long time to get used to the fermented taste of kimchi. Now I always ask for extra at Korean BBQ places.
A little helpful tip for onigiri. I'm not the best at making it either so I use plastic wrap around it. You don't need to get your hands wet and you can shape and squeeze it harder. One day I'll be able to do it the traditional way! But for now...plastic wrap
Jocelyn 😍😍😍
Cool!
Welcome to amazing diverse Australia 🇦🇺 I hope you can enjoy all the states and territories ❤
I think the extra seats are for guests
Welcome to Australia
🌴 hey you U-2 well not your regular adventure van but ! The van is an adventure by itself 😆, ya it’s probably a good thing to check the van over real good before signing the rental agreement, but lesson learned 👈🏻 it’s part of the adventure, Jocelyn was cook’n , the smoke detector didn’t go off so she did a great job 😆👍🏼 are there fishing plans for Australia? 🤔
Lots of fishing!
@@TaklyntheWorld 👍🏼😃
Loved the comment ( you and who ) lol good trip guys 👍
😂😂
How bout a topless edition?
So all I kept thinking about this whole video was this will b the last Taklyn type we get due to Taku writing HIS book. They will b going back home now to focus only on this. Very sad, had really enjoyed this traveling vlog and thought they were on to award winning status. Now that’s dead. Congratulations to Taku for the book. Hopefully all their other vlogs just don’t stop!
WHERE Australia are you at? 75°/Sunny in winter must be Relief for you guys, eh?! Here, in Hawaii, roughly the same!-lol...Safe Travels
