Just some context to the main point, The pistol brace can in no way augment the functionality or effectiveness of any firearm. It only gives the user better control of the firearm resulting in less human error.
Thank you for clearing up that distraction, you fulfilled its purpose...... .... now, let's get to the actual main point of this whole interaction between these two men. That being that the guy from the ATF, put the ban on the brace, because the Congress in previous language of legislation, classified that brace as to be "more dangerous". The guy from the ATF was just reiterating the fact that he was following what Congress passed! His opinion about what Congress pass is completely irrelevant. But people in Congress sure do like to ask a lot of dumb questions, usually technical ones, to confuse and distract the general public, when trying to pass the buck for their own BS legislation, on to somebody else who didn't write the legislation..... they're simply tasked with enforcing it.
The result of an augmented effectiveness is...... better control. Not sure what your point is. The primary issue/point regarding rifle vs pistol is the superior stopping power of a rifle caliber vs a pistol caliber. Adding a brace to a pistol does not make it more powerful.
Similar to telescopes on rifles. A person with a telescope will be be able to shoot better making him "more dangerous" but does that mean telescopes should be banned?
@@stepfaniehawkins205 except they classified SBR'S as unusual and dangerous, not the pistol brace which is also stupid as hell, but please keep putting on display your affinity for licking sweaty leather boots
@@stepfaniehawkins205 this is incorrect and was deliberately misrepresented by the director. Congress has NEVER opined on the pistol brace, only the ATF has. This verbiage comes from the NFA passed about a century ago. The NFA regulates firearms considered "especially dangerous and unusual. " This included pistols when introduced due to concealability. To prevent this from being circumvented by cut down rifles and shotguns, it added the SBR and SBS requirements. The pistol ban was ultimately removed but they failed to remove those categories. Thus not only has Congress never said anything about the brace, this whole thing goes against the spirit of the law to begin with.
Jesus I would not want to be that ATF DIRECTOR he honestly thought congress would be easier to deal with since he was a former prosecutor whom is use to dealing with courts but man did congress hand his a$$ too him well done well done

That’s because he’s intentionally trying to use up all their time rambling about nothing. He knows their time is limited and that they can’t speak after it’s up, which is why they’ll say things like “That’s a very good question,” or “Thank you for the question,” before they say anything else, while going on as much of a tangent as the asker will tolerate. They should stop the clock every time a question is asked, just so the person answering can’t worm their way out of them.
Why do they even do these hearings anymore? They all insist on a yes or no answer, but instead get a paragraph of nothing. Happens everytime. Seems like a waste of time and money anymore.
This is a common issue, numerous agencies have administrators who are in control over something that they have no more than a very basic understanding. This guy is a prime example of the problem that is common in government today.

The ATF director doesn't know shit about shit. he sat in a court room and "prosecuted" alleged criminals. These cases none of us have ever heard of because they probably never happened. ATF doesnt do shit.
ATF Director Steven Dettelbach: "I don't know squat about my job, but someone else said..."
Someone explain to me how this agency adds value to our lives.
They dont their job is to make law abiding citizens in to criminals to take our guns away. They change the "rules" when ever they want and think they can make up laws.
It takes away value from innocent people but makes tyrants feel happy.
Any they sell guns to the cartel everyday
I've wathced a number of these hearings and have yet to see a nominee of Biden's actually know what they're talking about.
The ATF should be ashamed of themselves.
Each Committee Member gets 5 minutes to ask questions. Each of those who testify has been trained to run out the clock without answering the questions asked.
Frustrating to see him continually not answer direct questions. That certainly makes him seem paranoid of the truth.
Did Biden appoint anyone who's qualified for their job???
NOPE!!
Just some context to the main point,
The pistol brace can in no way augment the functionality or effectiveness of any firearm.
@@stepfaniehawkins205 except they classified SBR'S as unusual and dangerous, not the pistol brace
which is also stupid as hell, but please keep putting on display your affinity for licking sweaty leather boots
This is just embarrassing man. Our government is a damn joke.
They should have grilled him about alcohol; asked him how many drinks he has in a week.
False title. Nadler isn't questioning the ATF director. It is Rep. Darrel Issa (R-CA)
I saw that. (D/NY). And I was thinking “wow. Really????? From a NY DEM??! 😂
Right, how disrespectful to Issa.
HuH?
I believe it showed Nadler’s name because that’s who was speaking at the beginning of the clip before Issa was given his time.
But why do they always reject homosexual special rights ?
Lawyer in way over his head. Shouldn't be in that position.
He doesnt know about guns and he doesnt know about explosives.........Director of ATF - Bidden did that.
Imagine if the average American answered legal questions like this....
Jesus I would not want to be that ATF DIRECTOR he honestly thought congress would be easier to deal with since he was a former prosecutor whom is use to dealing with courts but man did congress hand his a$$ too him well done well done
Imagine this sloth on a polygraph exam. You'd be 2hrs in and he'd still be stuttering through the first "YES OR NO" question, lmfao, despicable.
The majority of politicians are “ex practising lawyers” if you run a certain governmental department, you should have the experience, education and the personality to complete the job competently. It’s called “Fit for Purpose”
When you can’t answer a simple question with a “yes” or “no” 😂😂
Perfect acting. I've watched hundreds of hearings and they never go off script. Bravo 👏
I don't understand this logic. Why would you want somebody legally possessing a firearm to be less accurate? Do they want stray shots?
Get rid of em.
It is amazing how these people are unable to answer a simple yes or no question.
Why would you think these bureaucrat directors are knowledgeable about anything that pertains to their agencies! WTF!
Because they only have to check the politically correct boxes to get these positions in this ridiculous administration.
Another bureaucrat with ZERO experience heading a Federal Agency, a very disturbing trend.
He is an expert in being a corrupt official
That's his expertise
"I spent my career as a..." (Lawyer) THAT is half the problem in Washington DC in my lifetime.
Defund the ATF and buy Dettledick a new haircut.
How the F you’re going to be an ATF Director and can’t answer simple questions. They always want to give a speech.
Once, just once, I would dearly love to hear one of these so called experts actually answer a question and do so honestly.
He's not an expert on ANYTHING that relates to his job.
The rules need to change to force these witnesses to answer or be held in contempt.
Like a shock collar
I love how he keeps asking for a yes or no answer.
Are they trained to avoid such a simple answer?
Yes.
