I've been on paxil/paretoxitine for over ten years. The difference in my social anxiety/agoraphobia is amazing. It's silenced that negative voice in my head that replays conversations, and keeps how stupid I am for making social mistakes.
I do seem more tired. Night sweats on higher doses. But it's worth it to have a life again.
I went off it, once. People were commenting on my personality change, and how withdrawn I was becoming.
    Love paxil!

Thanks for the update! It's so great to hear that your side effects are starting to disappear! When I first started taking it I thought that I would wake up as a completely new person, extroverted and all! I was so wrong :P The initial changes in me were so small that I wasn't sure if it was actually starting to work or if I was just imagining things. I think it was about 6 weeks in that I was sure I was feeling the benefits? And thank you for your kind words!! You're very sweet to say that!! :)

I did experience side effects for about the first 2 weeks, but they were, for the most part, along the lines of insomnia, increased appetite, and irritability. Then all my side effects went away, except for the difficulty sleeping. If you're experiencing depression or suicidal thoughts, I highly suggest that you make your doctor aware of it because you don't want a day to come that you're all of a sudden NOT able to rationalize the thoughts away, and then it may be too late to see your doctor!

After that experience...I still have times when my heart races ..especially in social situations but I now have the knowledge on talking myself down rather then into a panic.... I hope sharing my story helps ....and I hope you find your way in life to deal with it....♡

Continued.....then after a year and a half I just grabbed the car keys rolled down all the windows in my car (it was winter:/) but I needed to feel the cold air and be distracted by the sounds outside ..and funny enough I drove to a book store...I was sweating and shaking but amazed I did it...consiquently I ended up buying a book called "from panic to power" it changed my life... I knew then I wasnt alone...and it taught me how to control my anxiety and understand it...ive grown leaps and bound

Thanks for the genuine support :) that part you said about imagining improvement I feel the same way too, it's such a subtle change isn't it. I took the trouble of watching your other videos, quite interesting :) I myself live across from Ireland in Wales (most people haven't heard of us and confuse Wales with England!). So even some of us Brits on the other side of the Atlantic suffer from anxiety :P Btw you look even more attractive with your hair back, really suits you:)

You seem like a very nice and sweet person. Please be careful with the Paxil, as there's documented evidence as to the adverse side effects associated with it. Keep smiling :)

I suffer from the same kind of social anxiety/agoraphobia. It's not triggered so much by people but similar to yourself going to places that exist outside my 'safe house/area' unaccompanied. Just like you I found citalopram inaffective, so now I'm on the paroxetine.
I'm on day 5 atm, but was wondering did you get any side effects along the lines of depression or suicidal like thoughts? I sorta am, they come in waves but I'm able to rationalise them away. How soon do the side effects last?

I love paxil, side effects was tough the first 5 days, face flushing, really wired, couldn't sleep and high blood pressure. On the 6th day everything was fine and felt normal. Never had an anxiety attack since I started the pills. It's been almost 2 months.

Congrats on getting into that nursing program!! If your not really looking forward to that prescribed sleep aid, you may want to look into Melatonin which is a natural supplement and sleep aid (our bodies produce melatonin). Hopefully that feeling of not caring will go away...also about that doctor, you may want to consider requesting someone else, maybe a female which might make you more comfortable? Still lookin forward to your vids since your ahead in your treatment than I am, good luck!!

Heeyy, just a bit of an update :) so I'm approaching the 2 week mark on paroxentine this coming Friday and thankfully the strong sense of anxiety/depersonalisation that was making me depressed has gone away. I'm uncertain as to when it's meant to really kick in, I feel some tiny degree of positivity, though how long did it take for you to truly feel the benefits? Btw I would be your friend without question if I was there, you're caring, possibly creative, down to earth and easy going

You seem so young and fresh, try everything else before Paxil you will end up numb to all that you shouldn't be. I am on 40mg of hell, just about to taper off, Try cut or contact me anytime! Good luck sweetie!

Are you emotionally numb on it? Does it kill your sex drive? I got this prescribed today and it bothers me because I've been on medication before to where nothing would come out when I "finish"
