Context is important. Before this album, NO HIP HOP ALBUM sounded like this. The closest you'd get was Outkast, but even then it wasn't the stadium level of this album. This completely changed how Hip Hop was viewed in the commercial era, and is what led to all those Pop mega hits rappers had in the 2010s.
I don't think it was that influential. There were commercial rappers before this who outsold Kanye 3x as much off a single album. His next album was more influential for the new generation breaking through

As someone who was in my senior year of high school when this came out (ugh), I was glad to see y'all appreciate "The Glory," since it's my long standing favorite off this album, and I've always felt like it never got the love that it deserved. (Probably because the album as a whole has so many other heavy hitters--I'd also forgotten how many were on here!) But it's probably still my most played Kanye song to this day, and it's never left my regular rotation. I also loved the sample so much that I finally tracked it down at some point a year or two after the fact, and it's an amazing song in its own right--it's Laura Nyro's "Save the Country" from the late 60s-early 70s range. Anyway, I enjoyed the video, and it was cool to revisit this album from start to finish for the first time in a long time. I'm definitely dusting off some other old favorites thanks to this!

2nd imo, Late Registration was just peak. But in all honesty The College Dropout Late Registration Graduation is arguably the greatest 3 album run of all time. 3 of some of the greatest albums ever made in music history
TLOP is better for me personally, a mix of hits, personal songs, crazy songs. It showcases Kanyes personality the best. So much variety with ups and downs just like his bipolar disorder. A crazy masterpiece
I was 8 years old when I first heard this album. My grandpa took me to Best Buy and I picked out the CD because of the cover art. From that moment I can say I fell in love with Kanye’s music. Definitely top 3 on my favorite albums all time. Probably number 1 if I’m being honest. Ts is just legendary!
