I noticed the same. As a manufacturer, I figured cheap light can for hunting, but, I have since SBR’d the bolt gun and used a different setup. All of those “wish” traps were low grade aluminum and bot meant for high pressure items.
I had one like that one, and please be careful after around 30 to 50 rounds. Mine shot the endcap off, ripping the threads right out of the tube. These things are great for 9mm on down and anything subsonic. I've been on a quest to find a good one or 2. The small ones for a .22 work great. I've had one of those for 4 years now, and it is awesome .
@@blackops84321 nice. I got a 9mm but the barrel is flush with the frame and not threaded. But the 10mm has threads and is ready. I won't use it all the time anyway just for having some fun target practicing.
@EliteNugz I would try it out on the 10mm. I did not think about a 10mm when i first replied to you. A 10mm is about 2500 psi chamber pressure more than a 9mm, so i bet it would last a long time. I've been thinking about building a "ar 10 mm". I have an Ar9 now. How big is the hole in in the can.? The way I've done mine is to drill my hole just enough that a loaded round would barely fit inside the hole with the brass at the crimp. That way, I'd have the thickness of the brass case for my space between the bullet and the baffle. I've been doing it that way for years now and have had great luck. It's never had a baffle strike yet.
@@Fusil_priming_llc and be put on an ATF watch list, really? no true American would do that, you think George Washington, Samuel Adams or Patrick Henry would register their guns with the ATF?
They paid taxes to the British for a long time before they made harbor tea, lets get real for a minute here. Pay to play until NFA is repealed or push legislators to change the laws.
Good video showing it does suppress somewhat ok. Surprised how many people don’t read or understand legality especially when your an SOT. Also it’s engraved like any NFA item so you’d think people would understand. Wish you lived in AZ cause I’d love to throw that thing on my sound meter
Yea, I think overall, it makes for short term hearing safe but there is no endurance on them. I am noticing on a short version I use with 9mm, its got the same gas escapement issue.
There is no way in hell I would order one of these off wish they still have them on their site. With my luck the ATF would show up at my house. Suppressors should be one-hundred-percent unregulated available over-the-counter just like a box of ammo
I do not disagree about them being over the counter as hearing protection. Just as a word of advice, the traps are spotty on quality, and if you do the requisite paper work and fees, know It is still inferior to purchasing one from a reputable US manufacturer.
@@Fusil_priming_llc and that's what I'm talkin about I don't want a paper trail coming back to me for anything, almost all guns I purchase now I do face-to-face. While these might be inferior as far as shooting them in a 308, 223, 243 or or any larger caliber. I think they would work well for a 22 for backyard plinking.
I mean, one can only work with the current situation and contact reps for changes. Its amazing that prior to 1968 GCA, serial numbers werent a thing, required thing anyhow, kinda makes me wonder how the hell in 1934 they wanted to regulated NFA items.
@cericson - can buy as many as you choose, not illegal to have/own a solvent trap (for cleaning). It doesn’t become “ATF Illegal” unless it’s modified and been mounted onto a barrel. Don’t forget that $200 stamp before mounting it on. Otherwise buy away. 👍
If you have not noticed, I am an 07/02 FFL. That means I can produce these, legally. The process is similar to making your own, but instead of form 1 and a stamp, its a form 2 and added to my Acquisition and Disposition binder. Then, should I make it available for sale, it would be a form 4, and a stamp, after paperwork has been approved. The point in event testing these out, was to show that, they are basically Junk for real use, kinda like air-soft. So, if you should go down this road with a Solvent Trap and form 1 into a suppressor, this in my opinion is a trash starting point and not worth a $200 stamp. Buy from your local FFL, that can walk you thru your form 4 paperwork, and help demo them before sinking good money into a product.
I did see that but the way the ATF has been harassing folks I just figured it gave them a reason to harass you because you put it on utube was a good video and thanks for the response 👍
No sweat. I will try and post longer vids to those who are interested in becoming an ffl and the inspections that happen after getting it. It really has not been too terrible of a process.
Mark, take a look around a bit. Highly Legal as a manufacturer. Also highly legal if someone files a form 1 with ATF and pays the tax, then manufactures it after approved.

That's not how you are supposed to use that. It's for catching solvent while cleaning your firearm.
Ya, true, I am an 07/02 manufacturer, so used the body of the Trap to make the Suppressor.
Okay fudd
You think he doesn’t know that.
Youd be a very funny little guy to think most people use it for "catching solvent". More like catching expelling gases 🤭

It looked like gasses escaped from the back of the outer tube. I’d guess it wouldn’t be long before that aluminum gave up
Its very poor quality. I do not recommend them. Buy a good quality one from your local NFA capable FFL, and wait for your form 4 to go thru.

All online ammo sales have a digital foot print and payment method 🤷♂️
