My beloved Portugal sucked so badly yesterday, that's no surprise, I'm used to it but what made my day yesterday was the superior speed, amazing cold blood and the class of the Danish team. Keep it up guys, you are amazing. WOW! Forca Dinamarca!!!!!
I'm portuguese, and I think Denmark is the most underrated international team in the world. last night we didn't have Coentrão, Pepe, Ricardo Carvalho, but we were still the favourites, although I said numerous times that it would be a hard game against Denmark. They have a strong team. I still think Portugal has conditions to defeat Denmark, but Denmark sure proved they have great teamwork and some very good players too. Congratulations for the win, you deserved it. Good luck in Euro 2012.

Congratulations on qualifying for 2012 Euro and good luck. With some elite sides, especially the top 3 finishers in 2010's world cup, having made it, it won't be easy but anything is possible. Hopefully you guys can have a friendly with us sometime soon. It would be really good for both sides.

I don't understand why some Portuguese fans don't acknowlegde the fact that Denmark was the better team yesterday. Our goals wasn't lucky - we played very well and that's why we scored. For the first 30-35 min. we were in complete control of the game. But I do hope that Portugal makes it to EURO12 next year though. You have a great team :-)

@TheRulerOfTheHouse There is no denying that even though Portugal hasn't won anything major it is one of the best teams around and has brought many talents to the football world like Eusebio, Figo, Pauleta, Nani, Ronaldo, etc.
it is incredibly stupid to even consider comparing Portuguese and Danish football. Denmark might have beaten Portugal with 2 lucky goals here, but does this game / or the group standings really make Denmark a better team? Portugal have been dominating world football in club level (Porto, Benfica) for decades. It's Portuguese football figures like Mourinho, Ronaldo, Eusebio, Rui Costa, Figo and many more that inspire millions of kids around the world and make this game worth watching for us..

The dutch are as always dangerous, having alot of strong individual players, but also have some world class playmakers (+ RvP who's goal scoring record this season is insane). on the other hand they are easely provoked, and their weak link is the defense. We've already argued about the Portuguese and Danish forces in here

Denmark only won this match because there was 3 defenders injuried of Portugal, it was Pepe, Fabio Coentrão and Ricardo Carvlho, 3 players of real madrid. Portugal won 3-1 on the first match.
Denmark is not so good as you think, they were just lucky....

@Noeldiego no we havn't won a major championship yet with the big team but we have come very close several times.if it wasn't for bought refs(euro 2000 and wc 2006)we would have.the euro 2004 against greece was a rare fluke.but we are always buzzing around.portugal has had a lot of terrible luck and sometimes we do wilt under pressure.however,we continuosly produce many of the world's top players.all the world's top clubs covet portuguese players.we've won several major cups at youth level.

That said, lets focus on Euro 12 and the extremely pleassant group we ended up in. It doesn't matter if we get through the group stage or not, there will be 3 extremely interesting matches for each team, and on a good day every1 can beat every1. Thou, i doubt that the Germans wont win the group considering they are my Euro12 favorits. They play alot like Denmark, just stronger on each position, except Agger.

The real score should be 5-2, ronaldo missed 2 great chances so denmark was really lucky as it was in the qualifiers.

@Veritas1925 Denmark used to be Denmark-Norway and at one point it was 1 nation with sweden norway and denmark. Denmark has waged alot of wars ( not proud of that)and has conquered england(viking) normandy , and large parts of southern europe (viking). We have waged 2 wars with germany over 30 years 1 we won and 1 we lost. Denmark had the worlds 3rd biggest fleet in around 1810(portugal was france btw ) . And Niels Bohr won the nobel prize. Denmark has influenced europe. We DO have a history

Portugal is a great country to visit and they have some awesome football players. For some reason they haven't lived up to the expectations lately though. It's kinda like England really.. Or like Spain for a long time. Everyone knows the players are some of the best around, but they just don't seem to perform when it comes to the national team.

Embarrassing how many Danish defenders are at sleep at 2:08 - walking around relaxed with their backs to the action, as if they have all the time in the world. It could have gone horribly wrong there, when the "blind" linesman also missed that clear offside.

Denmark have had a really down period, the newspapers called the National team the worst in 32 years. Since summer we have grown, getting in some younger people, and this group plays better together. And we ended up winning the group, after a terribel start, by beating Portugal (Who has more international stars) in a group finale.
I think it's fair to say that we qualified fair and square ahead of you, cause we were simply better as a team. Thats what people are hysterical about.

By the way the average world ranking for group B is around 5.6 which is the highest ever in a groupstage. Then take a look at group A. The pot seedings have been really poor

It's sort of an "Even if.." situation. I have no problem with people not liking Denmark or Danes, so even if you hated Denmark, it wouldn't bother me. Why would I care? That was my whole point. ;)

Its true... look what happened with france and ireland (qualifier for the world cup) Henry scored with his hands and the refs pretended not to see anything, stuff like this happens all the time... sadly THe rich teams are always helped out.
@Veritas1925 Spain always wins usually 1-0 because the teams they play against go on the defensive and lock themselves in their area. So if Spain scores its with an extreme struggle. Whereas Portugal and Germany both go on the attack against each other. You should know this.

And he sun was blinding the portogues players and the wind was agianst them, the ref was payed off, and their airplane was delayed so they only just managed to get to the stadium before kick off+ they got frostbite and the concentration of oxygene was much worse so they got exhausted so fast.

Italy, Netherland, France Romania was (on paper) a way stronger group since it was the reigning Wolrd Champions and the Runner ups. And did Portugal even qualify for the WC 1998? So that always is really poor, and why wouldn't England end up in Group A if they controlled things?
