Changed oil on my 18R coupe both ways. Out the bottom and suction. Kind of a pain to get shield off. But I’m lucky to have a 4 post hoist. Not concerned about service records. I take pics of each service event. Also never intend to sell the car, as it is a perfect 50 year younger sibling to the 68 E type. Keep up the good info on videos!!
I do this with a mightyvac....20 minutes, no jacks or lift... I've decided to use good oil every 3-5k miles so I don't worry about JLR numbers...they are not investing in evaluating new oils so I do GF6 comatible 0w-20 and mahle or wix or other good filters.... about 60 dollars total and 25 minutes.
Thanks Louis, the facts on repairing a car yourself is quite subjective, but your example just shows what you can do and how. You have video evidence (& receipts) so with frequent servicing to a level, the car will retain future value. As for changing the oil as frequently as you are, nice for peace of mind, it won't do any harm. Nice showing the approval for JLR on the oil!!! Main dealers eh! Will you check the oil for particulates? I wouldn't worry about the oil smelling of petrol, even my TR7 does after 78K & 43 years :)
Would hopefully add some value documenting the repair, doing it yourself shows the vast differences in prices and where it's possible to cut corners if profit is the only purpose of repairing it.
Great videos mate. How do you rate the F-Type generally? I'm going to get one at some point but it'll have to be a project like yours due to costs. I've had plenty of experience pulling cars to bits and putting them back together as projects so I should be able to cope, and it doesn't really matter how long it takes.
I had an Xkr 5.0 before this and whilst German cars are undoubtedly better in many ways there's something about the Jag that can make every journey an enjoyable experience I'd like to try a Bmw M4 for comparison but without owning one I can say most Jag's are owned by people who care for them better and superchagred car's sound better and are more reliable.
Why is your steering wheel on the wrong side? If you set up a go fund me I can help donate to have it fixed and put back on the correct side of the car.

You're right rather regular fresh oil than nothing

Tip - Use Mannol Fully Synthetic 0W-20 Engine Oil Legend Ultra Longlife GM DEXOS 1- £60 for 10 L
i use this to , as a mid service oil change , its good oil and to spec
You can use any o-20 oil it’s all synthetic. I would probably use mobile one. It’s the highest rated if not that I’d use a generic store brand

Ah yeah just noticed must be a lemon
@@louismochine4756 No worries man, hope it gets fixed soon!!
But then, we'd have to drive on the right hand side of the road, which is just plain wrong, and more dangerous.
