- First bit of long-form content in a while, and today we're discussing my top predictions for Professor Layton and the New World of Steam!

What I want is to have Professor Layton do something throughout the game that will prove he would fit in well in Smash Bros
Something I noticed in Smash Bros Ultimate is that there's NOTHING from Level 5. No Yo-Kai, no Inazuma, no nothing. So I think "not fitting" is the least of Layton's obstacles for getting in.
I mean. Not only he is good in one on one (Diabolical Box and External Diva are great examples) He was also fighting multiple knights in PLvsPW.
So I think he could easily be in Smash. Especially since Phoenix made it in Marvel Vs Capcom. And he isn't able to use any kind of weapon.
Edit: please don't mention anything that happened in 5th and 6th game. Since I wasn't able to finish them.

I’m still personally waiting on hearing the English voices for the main duo again. It just wouldn’t be the same to hear differently.
Free movement sounds nice, but something I like about the Ace Attorney-esque investigation style is that you can hide puzzles and coins in chimneys, lamp posts, the moon, etc. I feel like that'd be lost if you were moving the Professor around
Another thing I like is that there's no clear playable character. You interact with stuff, and the puzzle solver might be Luke or Layton. Moving a character around would lock you into one and kinda remove some of the "literary" feeling, if that makes sense
I got a T Shirt on Redbubble that says “I survived the 10 year professor Layton hiatus”
I think Luke's design is fine - he'd be 14-15 at this point and a lot of teen boys do have big changes in appearance around that time. I hope LMJ gets retconned

@@PawPaw2108 No. If you look on the site of the Tokyo Game show the event of Level-5 that Is in the 21 includes Decapolice, Fantasy Life, Inazuma Eleven and that other game I keep forgetting the name. No Layton.
On the 24, at the Tokyo Game Show Quizknock will do a special event and THERE will be a special announcment with news. We are getting news yes but not on the 21

As much as I would for love both Flora and Emmy to appear, I highly doubt it. Since this is the first Layton game in years, it would make sense for the spotlight to focus purely on Layton and Luke.
Naw man, only thing I want is descole, WE NEED MORE OF HIM, but since this is another country, its highly unlikely that older characters will appear
Bring Descole and Emmy back! Emmy's departure was so goddamn heartbreaking, I want her to come back in the most heartwarming redemption arc ever! And Descole is....Well, just Descole. Nothing else needs to said about everyone's favorite masked theatrical maniac.

@@krytonbechtel6080 it depends on if they are both mostly the same age, since emmy looks a bit younger than layton
I really hope we get cutscenes in the classic 2D style. Maybe a blend of some in 3D for character introductions then 2D for more plot and action-heavy scenes. Also more Flora, can never have too much Flora
Considering 3D animation has improved, I hope we get some cool 3d models for dialogue
I saw this in another "Layton series summarized" video but apparently Layton and Luke were kept in a time freeze capsule thingy back in the Catrielle anime and he was older then. So the random "age spurt" actually happened earlier to this game if we are keeping the animes in the continuity
His LMJ design is very different than this one - he wears a fedora in LMJ. I hope that that game just gets retconned - if it's connected to NWoS then people might go back and play it, be disappointed, and never pick up NWoS! And we all need to make sure the new L5 games are a success :)

The Spanish title of the game is instead Nuevo Mundo _a_ vapor. That's more like, Steam-powered New World. I definitely like it more than the English one, and it's not much longer than the other Spanish titles

I am hoping flora would join in especially since she seems to be tech-savvy (in Layton terms) been living alongside robots putting her into the adventure in New world of steam would be perfect if Level 5 Know how to make her appealing.
I'm so looking forward to this game, as it gets closer I'll probably stay away from trailers and online discussion so I can go in as unspoiled as possible, but right now it's so mysterious, anything could happen! I'm trying not to have too many expectations but I keep imagining what if something crazy happens and there's somehow cameos from everyone we wouldn't expect, like where did Emmy or Descole go after Azran Legacy, couldn't they just happen to run into them? Or what if Flora follows Layton like she did in Pandora's Box only since it's a whole other country she gets caught up in something on the way and appears much later as a twist to save the day for someone? What if the anime gets hinted at and Luke's future wife is a minor character and we see them start to spend time together in the credits? What if, as you said, Layton really should be world famous by now and the plot point that Luke is more well known in the town is a hint that the town has been artificially isolated from world news for some reason? It's all so exciting!!
I hope they cut any references to the anime IMO
I think one thing to note is that Level-5's other games recently set a precedent of sorts for their style moving forward. Look at games like Yo-Kai Watch 4, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road and DecaPolice. All these games have a sort of similar style when walking around the open enviroments which look good, and I think it's safe to say Layton is gonna follow that precedent. I believe we'll have layton walking around a 3D Steambison, talking to people and exploring. Level-5 seem to know what they are doing with this comeback. I'm inclined to trust them. I also just think this would be really cool and a different approach for Layton moving forward.
You mentioned Flora, but what about Emmy? Do you think she might have a chance of returning?
Not a chance! Her story wrapped up in Azran Legacy, so there's no reason for her to come back.
@@DearestHershel but there is one person from azran legacy who still need closure, descole, I want to see how he's doing after unwound future, considering he was shown setting of in a new adventure, and I want to see more of him

One thing that I don’t want to see in NWoS is another sword fight. The first time we saw one in DB was awesome, and so was the one in ED. They overplayed it hard after that.

They did say there will be more information on the game later this month during the Tokyo Game Show.

Will other old characters return in the new game like flora, emmy, inspector chelmey, barton, stachenscarfen, pavel, aldus and granny riddleton?
Personally what I want is sometime before NWoS comes out, they re-release the previous 6 titles (& hopefully PLvPW) in 1-2 collection(s) on Switch
...also I'd like a PC port
I really hope they retcon LMJ, I genuinely just don't want that to be Layton's future
I think the title should have been more like "New City of Steam."
America is usually known as the New World, I think that's why they chose that name
But will the puzzles be good? That’s the most important thing.

I try not to do too much with Eternal Diva as the distribution company restricts my videos in the States, thus losing half my audience.
It's a sin if this game does not release on Steam it's in the damn title
Okay but on the reoccuring characters thing granny riddleton will for sure be there.... hopefully.... ..... or a bee.... or the person who killed the bee...
I reckon even Granny R will get replaced by some new steam-powered puzzle capturer, but we'll have to wait and see!
I know it's unlikely, but I hope they'll bring back Emmy and Flora.
I personally liked LMJ myself but i understand why some people absolutely hated it.
However I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEW PROFESSOR LAYTON GAME
