At the time this released this couldn’t even stand a chance vs the talent the US had Destiny’s Child, Janet Jackson was dropping like one song a year still , rap was getting money like a mf ,R&B had some hits still rock and roll had hits here pop also Mel B never stood a chance maybe with the Spice Girls, but not by herself

a) you don’t have to insult one mel in order to praise another. b) the two songs are completely different and thus not comparable. c) most importantly, “i turn to you” popped off because of the remix work of hex hector; he took an okay song and made it good. none of mel b’s singles have required outside intervention to make them viable.

This jam gots me thinkin' of another classic crossover album (Craig David's "Born To Do It", 2000) Unique and futuristic ass times for R&B. At first I thought those couples symbolize her past loves where cheating was going on (and now it is not anymore), but then at the end she herself is "caught", which threw me lol. The wiki page for this song does not "reveal" anything unfortunately. PS: I now looked at the lyrics again and I guess they are very vague but could be interpreted that cheating was indeed an issue in the earlier stages of this portrayed relationship.
