In 2006 my mom and dad had some custom made tablas made for me from Pakistan. As a long time drummer, I couldn't have asked for a better present and still have them to this day. Much respect to these masters of their craft.

Watching these master craftsmen make their dhol drums brings me out of my doldrums. Sorry. Couldn’t resist. But this is amazing and inspiring to see what people can do with some ingenuity and hard work and not an assembly line of expensive machinery. These men are neither disengaged or alienated from their labor. How many of us in the western world can say the same?
This truly makes me sad as this is just a rip-off reproduction and in no way uses quality wood to make a handcrafted drum. I mean just imagine spending $25,000 on a $50 drum and finding out about it from the people you know and love. People like this that are scamming the rest of the world deserve the hell they will rotten

@@colinadventure and if you knew the quality of drums their making and the scope for improvement then you would know, just by helping them assemble a different skin rather than the one their using, these drums can't steal any show :) carefully listen to the audio when the maker is testing the slap sounds.

This is dholak, the two-sided Indian drum. Uttar Pradesh in India makes the finest dholaks with sheesham and mango wood. And with goat and buffalo skin. Exemplary craftsmanship.
The craft man ship Fantastic ! My Only concern is the man who uses the chainsaw tighten the chain ! If you don't care about your own safety , Think of your children when the chain jumps the bar .! & you have 1 less body part.

No glove is going to protect you from lathe in fact you should never use gloves when operating a lathe.

These are TRUE craftsmen!!They don't have expensive lathe machines , everything is so primitive , but they still produce beautiful pieces of art!!!!!
