As a Georgia fan I respect what Eli has done for Mizzou’s program. It was a banger game in Athens last year and I hope we can play eachother in the playoffs one of these days.

As a Mizzou fan first (grew up in Missouri) and a Dawg fan second (been living in Georgia 19 years) it’s been a pleasure to be fans of both teams, the fans get along better than any other two SEC teams can.

This team is crazy as a bama fan they got the big guys now to match the physicality of the SEC. But the weapons make this team so fun to watch going to really fun to see the match ups.

Mizzou doing some things. I would not sleep on this team if i were Bama or Texas A&M. I know this was against Murray state, but they are no push over team this year for sure.

Missouri is gonna be a problem
85 total yards for Murray state. For game one with a new defensive coordinator I'll take it. The potential for this team is national title folks. As they lock in they're going to be a tough out.
This includes having the 3rd string defense composed of 10 true freshman in the 4th quarter and Murray state still couldn't get yards.
Mizzu look like they might be a problem this year speed all over the place

Theo Wease is a 4 star transfer (#4 WR coming out of high school) and he isn't even the best WR on the team. They have a solid offense and a surprisingly solid defense (since they sent talent to the NFL last year).
Defense looked good. Every transfer had their moment too. I’m actually excited to see them against the SEC.

This team is so good. I watched them beat up on my Buckeyes last year. They're even better this year.

I get it, its Murray State an FCS team. But the fact by the 4th quarter Mizzous defense was comprised of like 10 true freshman and 1 RS freshman and Murray State still couldnt get yards tells me I think Coach Batoon knows what hes doing.

Cook was efficient, Burden, Wease, Cooper & Co. were good, running game was sharp, and the Defense was excellent. That was a dominating performance, and a big statement on the 1st game of the season. M-I-Z! Z-O-U!!

@@Strayure ... It sure is... BUT, to pitch a shutout against ANY college team, is rare. Murray State only got past the 50 yard line once, and that was at about the Mizzou 47 lol. Warm up game or not, Mizzou looked like a properly dominate SEC school.

What a great statement for Mizzou that Cook and Burden stayed. The Tigers are my sentimental favorite, because it's obvious they are a TEAM. : Near 200 yards rushing, and no one player over 50. Near 300 yards receiving, and no one player over 60. Let them beat everybody but my Vols.

The Sooners at Mizzou should be a good game to watch. Some bad blood there. When Mizzou was in Big 12 they played spoiler a couple time to OU playing for a title, then when Mizzou was "good" booger eater Chase Daniels days, never could get over the hump and beat the Sooners when it mattered. Now with the Cayden Green tampering and Theo Weese jumping ship and a couple of L's on the recruiting trail, the Tigres are quickly becoming hated in Sooner land.
That schedule is pretty cupcake. Tigers should be 7-0 before they take 2 L's in a row. But, if they finish the season with just 2 losses in the SEC, they are probably playoff bound.

We were looking for a strip club in East St. Louis maybe 15 years ago. 1:30 in the morning there’s two dudes out in the middle of the street throwing hands. We gave up and turned around and we’re going back across the state line to Missouri and those dudes were in the same spot still fighting 20 minutes later. And don’t forget one of the baddest MFs to ever put a helmet on was from East St. Louis. Bryan Cox hahaha, that dude was crazy. I can you tell this if I was in the street fight and I could only pick five guys off the top my head to be on my side, prime Bryan Cox would be one of them

The old Mizzou would have found a way to either lose this game or allow Murray State to stay in the game, play it close, then almost lose. But they won a game they should have won. The defense looked good, the running game was good, and the receivers were good. Now the passing game was not great. Yes, it's the first game, but it's against Murray State. Not having the deep ball in their arsenal will hurt them. Lastly, they couldn't get the ball to Burden.
