LSU deserved to lose, playing conservative with a small lead when it mattered to be more aggressive. Then the veteran players made too many boneheaded mistakes at crucial times. The young guys played great, too bad the veterans played with no discipline or focus.

That final drive from USC was the definition of “Take what the Defense gives you”. LSU’s defense bent AND definitely broke.
They should’ve gotten more pressure. Don’t see why they went into a prevent type of defense at the end of the game with that amount of time left.
I still prefer these games over these other cupcakes that were played. Win or lose, I'd rather know where we stand.

Best college football game I’ve seen in a while. Never sleep on USC.
As an SC fan it’s satisfying to just watch SC make tackles consistently on defense after the past few seasons.. Defense and O line definitely need a little polishing up, but experience and play time will help tighten those things up. And watching Miller with all the weapons on offense is insane. He was basically running 2 min drills out there on the LSU defense. It’s going to be fun to watch this season. Stay healthy and hungry, and fight on ✌️

That was one of the best 2 minute drives I’ve ever seen. Executed to perfection, this is what coaches should show their qbs on how to handle it.

As a Trojan fan. Win or Lose. Respect to LSU for willing to travel out the SEC unlike other teams. 2 hrs outside LA thought it would be a home game for USC. But the LSU fans showed up and showed out. They gave up 421 yd to an average offense. I wouldn't really call that good. The points on the scoreboard can be very misleading.

Where was the defense? 420+ yards? Several wide open receivers, multiple chunk plays were given up as well.
I'm from Louisiana, I like LSU. USC has always been one of my favorite teams, but even if they weren't, you have to gove them some credit. They played amazing, the coaching and scheming was brilliant, and they have some TOP NOTCH players giving everything they have. Overall great game.

I’m no team fan, just a sports bettor. Kelly thought we’re just gonna run it down their throats the whole game. Countless first down runs, no innovation with schemes. Not taking points when you have them.
We played way too conservative, we played to conserve our lead the whole game. This is not the same Nuss that played in the SEC championship game. Hopefully we start to push the ball down field. Defense definitely improved still not where it should be

That O-line is one of the best in the nation, they have an elite core of wide receivers and even tight ends. Plus they have some bruising RBs. Their QB is a little inexperienced but that offense is stacked. Nothing average about them. If Grinch was still USC's DC, they would have easily given up 45 points to these guys.

What a difference a competent coaching staff made for this defense. No busted coverage and sound tackling all night. This defense is the polar opposite of what we’ve seen the last couple years under Grinch and that’s despite the fact we lost 3-4 of our most talented defensive players to the portal in the off-season. I hope recruits are taking notice because D. Lynn is a coach you want to play for; can’t give that man and his staff enough credit for this game tonight, wow!

Kudos to all LSU fans. They took the lost like a champ. As an SC fan, I ended sitting in the LSU section. Not once did the fans disrespected me or my family. At the end of the game, all LSU fans sitting next to me, back , and front shook my hand for the incredible game we had just watched.

The LSU receiver Lacy proved how low the whole thing goes. His shotgun impersonation helped to mitigate the touchdown he caught by giving USC more room, to which they took advantage with a huge return. Lacy is the simple standard in that he has talent but no smarts or self awareness. Predictable.

Former back ups to two different Heisman trophy winning QBs, who went 1 & 2 in the draft.
Both were bowl game MVPs who threw for over 300+ yds. Both were in the 2021 recruiting cycle.
Both are playing for teams more known by their 3 Letters.
Both are playing for HCs who left a blue blood school. Nussmeier, a native of Louisiana,grew up an LSU fan. Moss from SoCal, grew up an USC fan.
Both teams debuting new DCs. Both teams were awful on defense last year.

Did you see the anger the kicker showed after making a td saving tackle on Branch. And the shotgun taunt by Lacy, then again on the bench. They did so much dancing, partying and hating they couldn't see the ambush coming !!!

To me the first stop of the game is CRUCIAL! probably the game winning stop! This SC Defense last year would have let a 4th down touchdown. Although not today they held their ground and did not let it happen! Also, Miller Moss and the final drive! Did not blink did not make a mistake! Ran the the Trojans all the way down and capped it off not with a field goal but, a TOUCHDOWN!!! I was yelling run the ball. My son was asying kneel down for the for sure 3.
