So you are saying to use 1/2" copper fitting but 5/8" copper pipe. The fittings would have to be the same diameter as the pipe to fit properly on the pipe in order to sweat them together. My question is the pipe actually 1/2" as well?
@@brendonpeixoto4420 so i was pretty sure the pipe was 5/8” but all the fittings i got were 1/2” so you would be right in thinking the pipe is 1/2”… id go by whatever fits in the 1/2” fittings. Im just an electricion so all the pipe is new to me
Wait noo its def 5/8” pipe: “Yes, a 5/8" copper pipe will fit into a 1/2" fitting because the "nominal" size of a fitting refers to its outside diameter, and a 5/8" copper pipe has an outside diameter that is considered a "1/2" nominal size; meaning a 1/2" fitting is designed to fit a 5/8" OD pipe.”
