It was all planned the year long good bye what I interpreted was to show that even if they're best friends and will be for a very long time they were both different person in their life then they started out and their priorities have shifted...Mer was a mom too whereas Cristina was still that surgeon with drive...I think in the long run I kinda understand why they fought Cristina was feeling after Bailey's birth(mer nearly dying)and she threw herself in the work and for me personally it was Shane who gaslighted the whole situation and kinda took advantage of the delicate situation because mer was feeling betrayed after that printer thing(rightfully so)and she was a bit hormonal too...and the episode of Cristina imagining her future was perfect...for her goodbye precursor

The best thing that most people didn’t realize or they did and didn’t comment on it is that Alex actually cared about Meredith you could see he was relived to see her through the window.

I have always loved this scene. For me the first years of the series were about the love and dedication of the first five. Mostly how 2 women can compete but have each others back in distress. Men for centuries have known that strength. Christina and Meredith were the real love story. Christina holding her feet, willing Meredith to live. That's the love that survives when you get old and cranky. Husbands stay or go, children grow up. Best friends are hard to find. I know.

In this scene, Alex is the last one to arrive. Who knew that it would contrast his exist: the last one of the group to go. And with that special someone. I hate that it went that way, but also sort of relieved that it did (although it was bad writing/inconsistent characterization by that point). In other news, this scene was gold when I first watched it. It's why I love the first five seasons so much--the main characters truly were the star. Cristina will always be my spirit animal. And Mer will always be hers. :)

Grey Code of Mer & Christ'a Yang was powerful. Was heartbreaking to see her go weak for a man. Mer & Christina's friendship was so soothing. Hard to find people who love to see you happy having your happy things. If I was Mer I would not be happy seeing Christina with Dr. Burke. He was a jerk to her, seeing how ambitious she was, it felt like Dr.Burke used the young doctor Yang.
It amazes me how many time Mer has almost died on the show bomb drowning gun man plane crash beating by a patient and Covid seems like ever season they put her life on the line she got more the 9 lives
derek may have saved her out of the water...but it was cristina who saved her when everyone else had given up hope...love their friendship/sisterness
