Today we talk about why I haven't made BeamNG videos... PC Setup: Moza R9 Ryzen 7 5800x RTX 3070 Recorded with OBS Studios Follow my Real Life Car Vlog Channel: / @itsblack
Not sure if your channel is only for drifting content, but I'd watch you explore BeamNG drive in other aspects apart from just drifting (career, missions, scenarios etc.)
I may not speak for most, but I discovered your channel when you posted your first Beam video and watching you learn is what keeps me coming back. I really want to suggest getting BeamMP setup (its super easy and you can add a launch command so it launches MP through steam or w/e) and trying to do some online play. There are many good servers out there with people who are excellent drivers. I earned most of my skills by playing "Cops n Robbers." It can also make for some excellent content, especially if you play with people you know.
assetto usually has unrealistic angle so its kinda weird transitioning from being able to do anything while drifting to spinning out while just going normally in a corner or something
I have hours into trying to drift in BeamNG. I can drift the 💩 out of an AWD car. Getting there with RWD but still not anywhere close to being good. For me it's been getting the throttle control consistent to the point it becomes muscle memory that's been the hardest. But it Def comes down to seat time and being able to not throw ur computer out the window. Because it is very frustrating, rage inducing etc to get to the point where ur ok at it. But just keep going, adjust to ur liking and keep at it.Eventually you will get it
you could also try Live for speed, for a 22 year old game its really realistic similar to Assetto, some people will say that its easier to drift on LFS, Maybe you can try it out forza horizon is a bit arcadey and not really all that great for drifting but LFS is free, realistic and it also has some nice damage features, only thing that really sucks is that the tire wear cannot be turned off (for realism stakes).
I would recommend driving a street car at the limit of grip without trying to drift necessarily. Just get a 240bx with a limited slip rear end and have at it for a while. (1700h beamng player here)
it's the weight of it makes it move very easy, great car for learning, the new 200bx refresh is pretty good with the notchback it became my main drift car, easier for tight roads lol
have you messed with your throttle linearity at all? i had to make mine a low curve to have decent throttle control, also noticed the inertia and friction in the moza settings changes the feel a fair amount too
@@ibdrifting i think my inertia is around 200, and the friction is like 30? they seemed to help alot with the over-oscillation of the wheel so it was more controllable, and the throttle linearity(in game) has to be tweaked so its a LOW low curve otherwise it wants to full throttle at like 30%(i have heusinkveld sprints, wether that matters or not lmao)
BeamNG drifting works wayyyyy better with a good tune, but the issue is the tune he to be absolutely perfect in the tune. I can send you a picture of my 200bx tune that took me like a month to get right.
@@ibdrifting Okay, BeamNG soft lock is bouncy rather than simply a wall at full lock. My theory is that that can cause countersteering problems. I simply adjust the limit lock per car in Moza
assetto to me is just meh, it doesn't feel like a real car to me, the way cars move in beam is just super good that i struggle with assetto, especially drifting, no matter what tires or car i use in assetto the car doesn't want to drift it's like fighting me, but in beam it just works to me, and car x is fun but just really an arcade like game more than a sim. Not to mention the lack of any clutch at all in assetto, there isn't any creeping, it just stalls, in beam i can drive it like a real car and it functions like one, assetto i just have to clutch dump it to get moving. Maybe i'm missing something for asseto but yeah even cutting up the cars in assetto all move like suvs, the body roll is terrible and causes the rear end to kick out. in beam a car like a lambo even at 100+ is harder to spin out in because it actually grips right, its also easier to save, once you start losing traction in assetto theres no saving it your car just goes straight sideways.
it is very hard for me too bro. i was playing fine then one day the game became buggy and unplayable. so for me i had to quit and im focusing on ac and carx now
For anyone interested, I use the Moza R5, will post BeamNG settings soon, the Devs say they like to keep it as raw as possible Moza Pithouse Settings: Steering angle- 2520 (Synchronous YES) Road Sensitivity- 10 Game Force Feedback Intensity- 100% Maximum Wheel Speed- 200% Wheel Spring Strength- 0% Wheel Damper- 0% Advanced: Maximum Output Torque Limit- 100% Hands-Off Protection- OFF Wheel Friction- 15% Speed-dependent Damping- 0% Start Point of Speed-dependent Damping- 0 FFB Effect Equalizer- 100% across everything Base FFB Curve- Linear Miscellaneous: Soft limit stiffness- 10 Soft limit game force strength- OFF Temperature Control Strategy- Radical
As I mentioned I am using the R5 and I don't know if the overall strength needs turning down in the Moza Pithouse for your wheel. Also I am in no way shape or form a "pro", or experienced with wheel settings, but these made the cars feel much better for me. I stumbled across a reddit post where the dev was saying it's designed to be used with as few filters as possible for a more authentic feeling. Everyone has their own preferences when it come to feeling through the wheel, but I guess anything is worth a shot, even as a baseline to tweak upon. Remember to make a backup of your settings before changing so you can quickly revert back to how it was before if you don't get on with it. I hope it helps! :)
Been trying for so long as well my bro and im still shit lol makes assetto feel easy as heck 😂 I have alot more fun 4x4 offroad on this game then I do drifting haha
Just a tip. The "lagging" when you try loading downloaded maps is the game loading the "files" for that map since they arent cached ( already loaded once before). After the first launch it will get faster. If you want to affect that woth a pc upgrade get a faster storage solution. Or fatser ssd. Hope it helps! Keep rocking bro.

Maybe you could play this game without drifting? Theres tons of other ways to play this, this game made me discover this channel btw ^v^
Use the gavril bluebuck drift it's so easy it feels like assetto
it's the weight of it makes it move very easy, great car for learning, the new 200bx refresh is pretty good with the notchback it became my main drift car, easier for tight roads lol
have you messed with your throttle linearity at all? i had to make mine a low curve to have decent throttle control, also noticed the inertia and friction in the moza settings changes the feel a fair amount too
Yeah I tried a few different variations but haven't mastered it yet
@@ibdrifting i think my inertia is around 200, and the friction is like 30? they seemed to help alot with the over-oscillation of the wheel so it was more controllable, and the throttle linearity(in game) has to be tweaked so its a LOW low curve otherwise it wants to full throttle at like 30%(i have heusinkveld sprints, wether that matters or not lmao)
also mess with the road feel setting, i think if its too high it causes weird stuff too, but that may have been adjusted in the latest update
I can't assess too much because I don't drift often on either Assetto or BeamNG and just kind of assume I have no talent for it to begin with.
BeamNG drifting works wayyyyy better with a good tune, but the issue is the tune he to be absolutely perfect in the tune. I can send you a picture of my 200bx tune that took me like a month to get right.
you should give this another go now after the last update drifting got a lot better. also traffic has been optimized and doesnt suck your fps
turn dynamic mirrors off and try 0 camber at the front -22 toe in the front 0 camber at the back and + 20 toe on the back
Random question: Are you using the ingame soft lock?
Yeah in that and moza. Swapped settings around too
@@ibdrifting Okay, BeamNG soft lock is bouncy rather than simply a wall at full lock. My theory is that that can cause countersteering problems. I simply adjust the limit lock per car in Moza
The struggle of trying other games with drifting is you realize theres nothing like AC 😂

Ac and beam are both amazing for drifting but you need to have a car that's built/tuned for it to feel right.
it is very hard for me too bro. i was playing fine then one day the game became buggy and unplayable. so for me i had to quit and im focusing on ac and carx now

games are for fun i got understeer at %22 and over steer the same i just got it for my game style so i don't spin out all the time
Been trying for so long as well my bro and im still shit lol makes assetto feel easy as heck 😂 I have alot more fun 4x4 offroad on this game then I do drifting haha
I have the opposite issue beam drifting is easy and I can't seem to drift in assetto XD
Try the Toyota AE86 Trueno/Levin
Pls got back to assetto 😭🙏🏽 i Miss it
You playing in third person?
I switch back and forth. I'm definitely better in 1st of course
