The Belmont Tunnel, Sears Yard, LA River nd da infamous Panic Zone along da 10 fwy between CSULA (Cal State LA) nd LAC+USC (General Hospital) were my graffiti playgrounds.
There will never be another place like Belmont Tunnel, I used ride the bus from South Central to kick it there with the Homies this brings lot memories back.
I was too young to have experienced the Belmont tunnels unfortunately This was during my preschool/ elementary days Its a shame ill never be able to step foot in legendary spots such as the Belmont tunnel, motor yard, old la river, etc But at least i could always experience these through film
what a fucking shame that its gone...it seems like one of those abandoned graffiti places with an undescribable atmosphere in my city berlin theyre also closing down places like this for their new shit apartment buildings... i hope i can relive early 2000s and see the old LA in my afterlife lol
I truly think this was unnecessary that shows you the respect of Art movements. They could’ve built around it n kept the space as an Art park. They also destroyed L.A. transportation history too the original L.A. Charles cars used to run through there. So 21 years of Graff Mural excellence stopped. That was one of the original historical public Graff Art locations in L.A. They even dismantled the Original Venice Beach pavilion walls. They chopped them down now all we have is tiny walls. I’ve painted at these two historic locations such a sad thing. Seems like people don’t care about hip-hop culture they just want to make money off it but not put money into it. Who really cares about the arts??? Where are the philanthropist for Art???
My dad went there and did graffiti...now it's long gone but I'm kind of used to it because my dad did a graffiti piece in Santa Monica beach and it said kozmoe but also long gone
Damn that's depressing..sadly "petitions" don't fucking do anything... Especially when money is involved... Petitions don't stop money. That's just the way it is..
Look what LA done to this place, should been a museum of the Pacific Electric yard not trash and graffiti, with smell of piss, get these people out of here ,first subway in LA of the PE should been a landmark
