Wow!!! In the summer of 1989 my Art Teacher, and a group of us (students) met Hex @ the old Belmont tunnel. He was very nice. We were a group of students who had been hired to make a mural during our summer vacation. Our Art Teacher talked with Hex and she gave him a business card. We were amazed what Hex can do with a spray can. Can't believe how long ago that was. It was one year before I started High School. Additional: after our meet with Hex, there was a news TV special; Hex vs Slick. Those were the good old days in L.A.
I’ve been looking for this for 30+ years…I vhs taped this when I was 17 and lost it. It was on tv once on the East coast and never saw it again. I couldn’t remember who they were… I saw a video with Hex today and said I’ll be dammed…
Crazy thing is they never opened up any places like this and this was 32 years ago! Kids n adults still spray painting no support for the Arts in America. But street art is everywhere now ? The Belmont Tunnel is not there no more they put condo apts. there. No yards anymore really .smh I was there for the Belmont battle I missed the Levits one I saw it on the news. Hex is the homie , and I saw Omega at the beginning painting! I remember that one kid talking at 5:57 his name was Danny he won a contest guessing how many caps in the big jar in 1992 a whole big jar of Fat caps/ testers from Hex’s “ Hip-Hop shop” on Melrose we was "man we I want all them caps!" It was like 200- 300 caps plus! I remember when HeX would get irritated he'd say "Broooo!" Ha! Ha! Everybody sayin that now! "P.Chuck" here S.T.G, R.T.N
