Sir I have a doubt what is the difference between over valuation of closing stock or over valuation of opening stock both the case is same if we increase the amt in firsr case we deduct but why in case 2 we add plz sir clear my doubt 🙏🙏

Listen, CLOSING STOCK and GROSS PROFIT is in Direct relation, if CS is overvalued the n GP will also be overvalued so to take actual/right profit we will deduct the overvalued amount.
OPENING STOCK and GROSS PROFIT is in inverse relationship, as if we will increase the OP with amt. $250 then simultaneously GROSS PROFIT will decrease with $250, and to get actual/right profit we will add back that over valued amt.

Look.. over valuation of closing stock lead to overvaluation of profit and overvaluation of opening stock leads to undervaluation of profit.... Hence we have to decrease in case of overvalueation to get the correct profit and increase in undervaluation... Hope it helped
