Catching giant hornets with a sticky sheet, but a smart hornet avoided the trap (with subtitles)

- Giant hornets are so aggressive and powerful that ten of them can wipe out an entire bee colony. We have no choice but to get rid of giant hornets.
It's a trap for catching rats. You can buy it at the supermarket. If you want to catch hornets, you should set the trap and put honey on it. Hornets attracted by warning pheromones are captured, and the captured hornets emit warning pheromones.

This method is common among Japanese beekeepers. I heard that Asian giant hornets have been brought in the United States and everyone is having trouble. I think this method will cause less damage to bees.

Shoutout to the one brave bee who had no chance but still attacked so furiously until the hornet went back out of the hive. She a real one.
let's remember every bee who was just like that
I'm hoping that's what was going on but if you watch before that hornet got sticky stuff on its face and was trying that whole time before getting stuck to get it off. I think the bee got stuck to its face after confronting it. And it was stuck to its giant pincers. It got a brutal death
I still can't get over the fact that the hornet that wasn't caught took a ripped piece from one of them and took off with it dangling from its mouth.

Bro I thought you were out there without a bee suit lmao I was like this guy is nuts. Sick Video man 👍
Even with a beesuit, Japanese giant hornets are sketchy. Pretty sure they can gnaw through face mesh, and I'm positive I've heard that they can sting through the suit.
Are there bees still alive inside? That's a lot of hornets
The way is limited only for bees passage, hornets can't enter inside. The problem is that hornets when find a bee hive tranfer the entire colony here and bees are trapped inside and can't work. If you destroy "spy hornets" they can't communicate the position of bee hive to the colony of hornet and the bee hive is at last safe from a war.
@@hasturm1232the way in is smaller after the visible opening? Smart.
I suppose you can't just leave the trap there, so the apiarist must be vigilant for when hornet scouts arrive and get the trap ready fast

That hornet at 1.28 goes inside the hive and then comes out with a small bee stuck to its snout. Later it will fall head first onto the glue and the small bee will also get coated in glue. At the end, the other hornet steals it from the struggling hornet and flies away with it. As it is covered in glue I would strongly advise against eating it.
I hope the hornet sees this advice 🙌

I often just fart into the hornets nest and get the same result
I wanted to ask, how do you dispose of these glue traps once the hornets are dead? Do you put in with your local rubbish bin? That would cause a fright for the bin men collecting your rubbish.
I would assume fold the glue ends in half then violently dance over the solid part.

Possibly the few getting back lose from the sticky traps will communicate to others about the traps. Maybe not, but in any case, all escaping ones should surely be killed before getting away.

Japanese hornets, can fly about 25km/h, have a 5mm stinger, deadly to humans. They can wipe out bee colonies and take away their larvae and honey. -what I got from a Japanese beekeeper
Well done for holding your ground & the glue when the one at about 2:25 breaks away! I imagine he could have then seen you as the threat & stung accordingly....😮

Cmon now. 😂
I’ve heard that the suits aren’t 100% protection….
@@squil35
I've heard that too & seen other videos where the guy was in a T-shirt!
@@squil35 yeah, maybe, but they def prevent the majority of stings, and make it very hard to be stung
fun fact: these giant hornets will only attack you once they have infiltrated the honey bee hive and have found the food source inside. if you are around when that happens they will automatically count you as a threat to their operation. they won’t just attack if they are scouting the area. i also watched the guy in the black t shirt use the mouse glue traps. the only reason why he wasn’t stung was because they weren’t able to get inside the colony. hornet pheromones do get released once the colony is found to alert the other but if they can’t get into it, there’s no reason they would release an attack pheromone unless you’re actively trying to make them aggressive. it’s also imperative to move carefully and with slow movements as so they don’t detect anything. a giant hornet sting can kill in some cases and more often then not, cause excruciating pain. (thanks coyote peterson for taking those stings for us)😭
Coincidentally, NHK just had a news item about honeybees from a cold area in Japan being transported to overwinter in a relatively warm area, where flowers bloom throughout the year. No mention was made of giant hornets, though.
Well done!! Can't stand angry hornets
