I've watched a ton of reviews on the C8 Z06 because I own one. Your review is by far the most realistic, honest , and most relatable review I've watched. Great video!!
Appreciate it! It’s our first review we have done, hopefully they will only get better. I will say it’s my honest opinion as I’m not making any money to say it’s better than it is lol.
Not a knock on the OP and his video, it's fine, but I question just how many videos you've seen if you call this the "most realistic, honest etc". I don't even recall him launching it...
Supercar refers strictly to performance (ie. lap times). Exotic refers to rarity.
I agree it has a higher performance level than let’s say a sports car (Mustang, Camero, Challenger, BMW)
I honestly think it’s a great entry level supercar. At the same time it not on the same level as a Gt3rs or a SVJ Aventador.
It literally has lap times on par with a GT3RS, and faster than a GT3. See the independent magazine tests.@@Racexotics

@Racexotics Does it bunch you into the seat when accelerating like the EV car with instant torque? Our it is gradual accelerating

Z mode not the same , I agree. Even on a regular c8.

just got one for 128k. absolutely incredible. honestly makes even a GT3 look like a one trick pony (own one). this has more power, its more comfortable, the sound system is way better, the handling is the same, the Z06 sounds FAR better, and the servicing of this vs a GT3 wont bankrupt you, and, personally think this is a more interesting looking vehicle. for 200k i’d probably still desire a Z06 to some extent but with a starting price around 115k or so, UNBEATABLE.
Ya I would definitely take a Z06 over a GT3 I do like the 3RS but Z06>GT3
In California, HTC is a must. I love my 3LZ HTC

Not necessarily. Although I'm in the Bay Area, Solano County summers can be hella brutal. I would not enjoy the car with the top down.
It depends, if you are 6 feet above coupe is better. My first one is HTC, you can’t fit with helmet, but coupe will give you enough head room for helmet for track day

@@johnnyparker2128ya to hot is definitely a thing, with the HTC you can easily put the top back up at a stop light if it’s getting to hot out.
See that adds a bit more weighted consideration towards the Stingray Pro charger crew running the big LT - sure the Z06 will dust it on track, but just a spirited cruise on a Sunday below 4500rpm? Hmm.. particularly that they would almost be the same money stock vs modded.

There have been over 6,000 C8 Z06's built to date.
Took awhile to get this video edited and uploaded lol the car also has a few thousand more miles on it aswell 🤪
Also all I could find for production was this
Z06 production has now built 3,109 regular Z06s and 614 70th Anniversary models for a total of 3,723 Z06s.

AMT Custom designs has an awesome engine bay cover. I have one on my C8 with a yellow painted trim. I highly recommend.

It doesn't need more power, it already has lap times amongst the fastest supercars/hypercars in the world.
It’s a good all around car, but it can definitely use more power, I think it needs another 300hp that would put it at the same HP to Weight Ratio as my Noble which pulls way harder than the Z06.
@@Racexotics Disagree. It's a sports car, not a drag racer. It has faster lap times (ie. all around performance, not just straight line) than your Noble.
@@IndependenceCityMotoring my Noble is definitely faster than the Z06 around a track, I’ve never driven a stock Noble so i can only speculate but it handles unbelievably so I would assume they would be very close even for being the Noble being a 17 year old car. The Noble was designed specifically for the track, a stock one is 400 HP and only weighs 2200 mine is pushing 580 hp.
With that said it’s very raw and not comfortable to drive at all it does 1 thing good that’s go fast. I would pick the Z06 for a daily driver and all around car everyday of the week . But I still believe it needs more HP. I think even Chevy agrees which is why they are building a ZR1. 670 hp is good but it would be next level with 900 and it wouldn’t hurt its track performance.
@@Racexotics By that logic, the 911 GT3 "needs" 400 more hp.
@@IndependenceCityMotoring it probably needs more power aswell, then at the Nurburgring maybe it would not be 24.3 seconds behind the AMG One that has 1049 hp and is also 700 lbs heavier than the GT3.
I do not understand your argument that more horsepower is not needed to go around a track faster.
The AMG black series, and the SVJ both have more HP than a GT3 and both also have faster lap times at the Ring.
2024 HTC has engine view window cover option. I think I paid like $500 for it. Aftermarket is better cuz OEM cover is kinda small. (But then who knows what kinds of dirty and oil you get on that view window.)
Would have like to seen it shoot flames while revving at standstill. Kinda like a Lambo. Can't really tell when my Z06 is shooting flames.
Ya I’m assuming it would get dirty and dusty on the inside and be a pain in the ass to clean anyways

The car is incredible, the engine is a work of art, the handling and stopping is about as good as it gets. Since 2017 I've owned these.

Best bang for buck zl1 camaro, fastest on highway roll gt500, brute power fun and quickest to 100 superstock. Best all around driving experience z06.

Unless you are on a track, the auto shifting is way better than manual. Just let the car shift, without your bias, and you will be amazed.
I genuinely do not like how it shifts on its own.

@@العلمللجميع-ح1ف I was giving my personal opinion on the car, gas cost would depend on how often you drive it, the manufacturer states it MPG so you would know your gas cost better than I would. And everyone’s insurance cost is also going to be different, your age, male female, if you have had claims on your insurance before if you get pulled over a lot. Another thing that wouldn’t make sense for me to talk about.
let me educate you ppl about the z06 you guys have no clue, it has decimated and destroyed italian and german supercars lambo porsche ferrari , and it destroyed the former track king the 911 GT3 RS and 911 turbo S and 98% of supercars at the track where true performance is measured. The Z06 is one very serious supercar than owns the track more than other supercars…theres a reason why two of the most reputable testing companies motor trend and road and tracked named it 2023 performance car of the year, america should be happy we finally have a badazz supercar that can destroy european supercars, if u look everywhere around the world the z06 basically owns the mclarens, lambos, porsches, ferrari supercars at the track, this thing is a beast!
I agree it’s a a lot of car for the money but lap times done lie and the Z06 is not even on the reader board at the Nurburgring… for the money I agree can’t be beat but it is not the top car sorry.
Could you settle something for us my friend and I argue daily he thinks the C7 ZR1 is faster than the new C8 Z06 I think he's crazy the C8 is faster around the track it's faster in a quarter mile it's faster 0 to 60

@@Racexotics its not on nurburgring board yet bc the professional drivers havent went for an offical laptime yet duh but trust me when they do its guaranteed sub 7!! if its already laying to waste other supercars around racetracks around the world theres no reason why the z06 would under perform here at nurburgring
@@greggsoles6794 the only thing the c7 ZR1 has on the c8 z06 is top speed thats it, the z06 is faster around the track its the ultimate track weapon where true performance is measured, the z06 can beat it in quarter miles, 0-60, and laptimes but the zr1 has a higher top speed
Nothing touches this car for the price tag but as for supercars, there's nothing that's 150,000?!?! it is great for the money no doubt but when you step up to supercar pricing around 350 or so you also get better performance the 720 S the Hurrican and the 296 will soundly blow this car in the weeds in performance, not to mention exclusivity the build quality and fit and finish yes, they're more money But as the saying goes ...you pay more you get more
I’ve driven both the Huracan and 720s (the 720 being one of the fastest and most unreliable car I’ve ever driven lol)
With that said I agree they are a better performing car but the performance either of them does not blow the Z06 out of the water enough to drop another $200k
I would pick this car and $200k sitting in my bank than 1 McLaren that might start when i want to go for a drive 😅

I used to be a mustang guy had a bunch of them, unfortunately they just don’t do anything for me anymore, great cars especially for the money, I just don’t feel anything emotionally anymore.
Z mode can be customized to match track mode.

@Racexotics go into the vehicle menu and you can adjust z mode. I have it track exhaust, touring suspension and steering

I would do the Ferrari Testerosa. It’s a very cool vehicle and very temperamental if it hasn’t been tuned in a while. A great hands on ride

I’m on the list for a ZR1 but honestly I prefer supercharged over turbocharged so hopefully Hennessy can get into the ECU so I can have them supercharge this one.
Im looking at this car and a 2024 911 S its $148K and the 2024 Z06 is 139K did you cross-shop them?
We are actually getting ready to do a track comparison with my buddies GT3rs another buddies Turbo 911 and the Z06.
The 911 s is an amazing car as most Porsche are but I would I say different driving experience one being Turbo and one N/A.
I don’t think you can go wrong with either car. Although If your going Z06 I would get a few of the options like the extra carbon it’s definitely make a difference, I also wanted the high wing which was not available when we ordered this car.
after owning 3 911 including a 911S and a GT3 and now this z06 i can honestly say NO ONE likely is cross shopping a 911 and a z06, or I guess, in my mind, no one should be. the 911 range barring the GT cars are extremely sedate- look rather dull and sound horrible. the z06 is in another league compared to the 911- i would never buy a 911 again there was nothing exciting about the driving experience AT ALL where as a z06 i can honestly say its utter theater 24/7, and, is such a prettier more exotic looking vehicle. sure you want some racing history and a classic look, get a 911.

Everyone needs to stop saying its not exotic, because it most certainly is if you actually look at series production numbers. Does anyone pause to think how long the HURACAN SERIES ACTUALLY went on for? Or the 458 series which became the 488 series, and the number of cars actually produced? So far, Y chassis C8 cars are pretty exotic with serious race tech built in just like Porsche has OR POSSIBLY A WHOLE LOT MORE. So far GLOBALLY, the C8 series is pretty darn exotic.
Ya I just always think of exotic as from a foreign country. But I agree it’s a special car!
Look up the definition of exotic… the corvette is a American sports car

I’ll explain to you why your brand new 2024 C8 Corvette Z06 is gutless out at a lower RPM. As you already pointed it out, it has a flat plain crank that can rev up to 8600RPM. That will give you full power.
Ya it definitely comes alive around 7800 it’s an amazing engine!
Just gonna say it, I believe the NC1 nxs will be the best competition in that price point.
Although I agree the NSX is a good car for the money I still wouldn’t put it in the same category. It takes a lot to go even a little faster and 12 seconds faster around the track is a huge difference. Not to mention 1/4 miles and 0-60 times, I included all those below.

None of you guys had issue of your C8 z06? My first one got lemon and returned due to transmission, and engine ticking. Now my second one so far got engine ticking they claimed not significant so it will not be fixed under warranty, if I fix it with out of pocket payment, then my warranty will be voided even the repair is going through a Chevy dealership😂. If this one turn to lemon again I will pass on it forever 🤔
That’s a bummer! I’ve heard they had issues with some of the earlier cars, mine has about 2500 miles on it now and hasn’t had any issues at all. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
