- 'Designing Women' star Meshach Taylor passed away June 28, 2014 after a long battle with cancer, and we spoke with Jackee Harry, his co-star and longtime friend who reflected on the beloved actor's life.

The episode when he and Suzanne go on a road trip together was not only an incredible episode but one of the great breakthroughs in race portrayals on television. I can see why the entire cast adored him because I did too.

Yes, RIP to all of our DW actors. This was a nice tribute. I remember the first time I saw Meshach he was playing in The Omen II and Mannequin. I loved him on DW and I recently saw him in a few episodes of Criminal Minds.
Wow! I had no idea that Dixie Carter passed. And all of them died of cancer!
I loved him in Designing Women but I also love them in the movie Mannequin as Hollywood
He was so talented I hope the show gets popular again so people will remember him

Designing Women is on the TV right now as I'm watching this. So sad to see another icon from my youth is now gone forever. Thanks for all the laughs Meshach, and I hope you got 'em rolling in the aisles in Heaven!

I knew him as Mr Wright on Neds Declassified! I just found out just now he had passed away after reading a 'Where Are They Now' on the show RIP
How they gonna recreate Designing Women without the chemistry of Meschach Taylor and Dixie Carter? Those two made that show beside Delta Burke.
No disrespect to Meschach Taylor and Dixie Carter but Delta Burke was the show she is what made the show as funny as it was. And when the shows stupid producers fired Delta Burke that was the end of designing women you can't replace that kind of talent.

A fantastic actor, still very much missed.
So sad he is missed so much. His role as Hollywood in mannequins and mannequin two is just one of the best I’ve ever seen he played the greatest gay man ever. It was amazing such an amazing person rest in peace.
Sheryl Lee Ralph was his wife on the show.
He was also Shel on another CBS Sitcom Dave's World with the late Harry Anderson, Delaine Mathews and Shadoe Stevens and he and Jackee would work together again on To Tell the Truth

Meschach Taylor was hilarious in designing women but Delta Burke was the show she is what made the show into the hit it was. And when the producers fired her that was truly end of the show. R.I.P Meschach Taylor

I remember him more from his role as Hollywood in the movie Mannequin probably because I lived in Philadelphia and the movie was filmed in the John Wanamakers Department store. Must have been very early in his career but he was very funny. Always reminded me of Arsenio Hall, could have been his body double.

I was just watching old of What's Happening Now here on TH-cam. He was funny as Buddy Carlton-The bully. It was hilarious when Raj shoved that worm down his mouth. 🤣🤣🤣

He was funny as hell as Hollywood in Mannequin.
My favorite episode that focused on Anthony was when he dressed up like Suzanne’s maid to take her citizenship test. My gosh, it’s one of the craziest and most hilarious exchanges between Anthony and Suzanne. I never get tired of that episode. He and Suzanne made that series, in my opinion. After Suzanne left, it was never the same and I quit watching. Really loved Anthony (Meshach) tho. .
