- A source tells ET, Brad Pitt finds his and ex Angelina Jolie's daughter Shiloh's request to drop his last name 'upsetting' and hopes to 'repair' his relationships with all his kids. This comes after the former couple's daughters, Vivienne and Zahara, also opted to drop 'Pitt' from their last names in a seemingly unofficial way amid Brad and Angelina's tumultuous seven-year long divorce battle.

How Sad that the parents have fought for most of their children’s lives😢😢😢
Actually they had a lot of great years and were ok until they got married which they did for the kids. What happened after only had they know but in any relationship it takes two to make it and two to break it. Hopefully they’ll work through it and find a basis to keep their relationships without bitterness and anger. There was a lot of love and while it won’t be the same they can still have a good relationship and love each other 💖💙💖 Many families do and are grateful for that.
@@joyflavell7385 I agree. My other speculation, is, given how sudden and abrupt the divorce was after one incident, and then the never-ending divorce proceedings, a part of me genuinely wonders if these two still have feelings for one another that they are refusing to address.

It can be worked through and provide an opportunity for growth and forgiveness. It doesn’t have to be a permanent condition. People make mistakes and deserve a chance to correct it and go from there. I hope they all are able to move on and still be able to keep their relationships. Life changes and holding onto the problems that caused the changes doesn’t help anyone. Yeah but i think there also a parasocial dynamic that goes on there where the oldest ones feel I was only adopted by mom so the bio kids are probably in this bind where not only is it mom but mom using the siblings to say things like "you don't realize he's awful because you are the one he cared about, the real child" at which point they would have to prove themselves to be part of the group. I dont know but reading between the lines I respect there's real pressure on her. Looking at the way she tried to destroy the vineyard knowing that he care about it told me everything I needed to know about him.
My cousins didn't speak to my uncle for four straight years after his divorce - the entire time they were living with my aunt (their mom)- because she had been feeding them lies about my uncle. He lost four years with his kids never speaking to him. After the truth came out, years later, they were heartbroken that they had missed out on those crucial years where they needed their dad too. I'm not saying Angie is feeding her kids lies or anything, but we shouldn't make assumptions about these sorts of situations. There is a lot we do not know, and never will. And we shouldn't assume that kids will somehow "find out" some kind of "truth". Children need both of their parents. Period. Unless Brad was beating/abusing his wife and children, I don't see how total alienation is warranted, and I would think the same thing if the situation were reversed, and Angie was the one being alienated from her kids. Hopefully this family reaches some level of reconciliation, for the sake of those kids, who will all be adults soon.

Well I don't know their relationship, but it's telling. I hope that one day they can heal. It's very similar to Angelina and her father.
This is kind of similar to the Diddy situation Cassie came out in had a report of all the things he did to her and nobody really believed it until they saw the video of him actually abusing her, Angelina also did a similar statement about him getting physical with their kids on a jet and a big fight in between the family if I recall correctly so for people that are saying he didn't do anything and she's the one manipulating the children honestly I do believe something happened because regardless if one of the parents is trying to manipulate a child if they have a close relationship with a child that manipulation usually does not work because as much as we may think kids are easy to manipulate in that sense they are not and especially at her age the kids are young adults now they're not little children they know what they saw they know what they're feeling they know what they're going through we don't so it's sad to see people say how dare they how this and not just let them it's their decision there's no reason to put out that opinion
It's a situation that's all too familiar though. And concerning a woman who has influenced her kids from a young age, and has a reputation to be as manipulative as she needs to be to get what she wants. Her behavior with engaged and married men to keep them from returning to their loved ones and to only stay with her should be enough understanding on why people have the opinions they do on this particular subject with the people involved. At one point people are found guilty of the certain wrong doings that they do. A non-guilty charge on the plane situation for Brad is what has happened so far with him.

Too many people will trash the other parent instead of trying to teach the kids that there were problems and when they get help with those and sincerely change their behavior etc the only ones who are hurting or ready or able to forgive going anywhere and won’t be able to get past it. I’ve seen parents use their own anger and bitterness to try and turn the kids against the other but it usually doesn’t work as kids get older and think for themselves. I am not sure if it is even just that, it is the complete breakdown and also there is more to this story. If he is never there, they probably don't feel like they have a relationship. It is just a name. It is the relationship he needs to be fixated on.

It´s pretty clear cut for me, he was investigated by CPS and the FBI, who not only didn´t press charges but he was awarded joint custody and then Angelina used a technicality to have the judge disqualified, she is hell-bent on not letting the children have a relationship with their father. That same judge had warned her that if she continued interfering with their relationship by not providing him with the children´s phone number, calling them multiple times while they were with him or if she kept supervising Brad´s text messages with his children that she could lose custody time and Brad could had been awarded primarily custody. The level of parental alienation that we are witnessing is insane, but onlookers that don´t seem to know what´s really happening are partaking in this very public character assesination.

She also always had the upper hand with time to bad mouth Brad to the children, since she alleged abuse they had to investigate so at first he was separated from the children for 3 weeks, then he had a few hours a week to see them, and only after 5 years the custody trial reached a resolution in which he was awarded joint custody. Of course Angelina didn´t like that so she had the judge disqualified on a technicality (he failed to disclose unrelated cases he was working on with Brad´s lawyers) and the whole thing went back to their previous agreement. So in total she had 8 years to be the only voice their children could hear.

How about children always choose sides, regardless of who is in the wrong or right. It's the responsibility of both parents to keep the atmosphere healthy for the kids.

We don't know if Brad caused any emotional or verbal abuse towards the kids. I will say with my own experience my mother always encouraged myself and my siblings to speak to our father regardless of what he put her and us through. I decided to stay away from my father. My mom had nothing to do with it.

And how Jolie told her own bodyguard not to let the kids spend too much time with Brad when he did get at least some visitation time. Or how her own mom turned her away from her own dad enough for her to change her last name to just her mom's maiden one.
Jolie even lawyers up to keep other celebrities from speaking out about how they've seen her do things like everything in her power to take other women's men for herself. Just look at what happened to Melissa Etheridge, who was told to stop telling people what she's seen with Jolie being so negative with people, before Jolie threatened to sue her if she didn't keep her mouth shut about everything. We may not know for sure what this family has gone through behind the scenes, but most of what is known spells out that Jolie has needed some counseling for years for her unhealthy socially manipulative actions, and is just bad news. My own dad had someone like her in his life, before finally just letting her go. And at least Brad has gotten help to treat the drinking problem he had after it all.

It's just too bad that no help was chosen, until it was too late to make things better before the whole situation fell apart. Jolie seemed all too happy to flirt with her latest coworker, not too long after her marriage to Brad. And he dealt with that and the problems in their marriage by unfortunately turning to alcohol, and letting that and his negative emotions take him over. But I also think that after years of Jolie going after and pulling away engaged or married men, that this time karma finally caught up with her. It's just too bad the kids had to pay for it along the way. Now we could only hope that the prayers people have been saying they're going to send out to the family, actually does some good..
Children naturally love their parents. If they don’t, and especially if they detach from a parent at an older age, you better bet that parent has done something to make the child detach and lose respect for them. No matter how bad my husband’s ex-wife spoke badly about him to his kids, his children always wanted to see him and always loved him. I don’t think Angelina is responsible for this, I think Brad has done it to himself.

Well it must be really sad and traumatic to have an abusive dad and then your husband repeat the same. It must hurt a lot and would understand why she would want to keep the kids away from Brad’s influence. She could do a better job at co-parenting, but even if she tried, we don’t know if Brad still has issues and it’s not suitable for the kids to be around that. There’s just way too many variables.
