Agreed. At the end of the day we are just fortunate that Isaac has been nice enough to drag out his camera and let us into his world. As always his main priority is to safely get his work done so that he and his son can go home at night. If we miss the occasional view of the job then that is just to bad for us. As it stands Isaac provides plenty of explanations as to what is happening throughout the job and makes it easy to understand the challenges of each job. Keep at it Isaac! Some people are assholes bro that’s why every youtube welder has to give tons of disclaimers and apologies because armchair experts always have something to say about everything. Whether that be camera angles, etc. I agree with you Isaac is so humble and nice he doesn’t have to apologize
I'm retired(40years of welding). I always did repair work. That's the best kind of welding. Your welds are ALWAYS awesome. working on heavy equipment never looks pretty. Professional welders know good welds by looking at them. Keep up the awesome work and videos. Get your son to weld more. It's great he is with you!!!!
I worked with Dad for twenty years as auto painters, he taught me the business but wouldn't give me any time behind the spray gun until I left him for six months, that got his attention, when he asked me back I was no longer his help but an equal partner and spent more time behind the gun.Its hard to turn over the reigns, but how's one to learn if not by fire.

Those torch cuts are always so satisfying to watch! One of the things I love about this channel is the exposure to normal parts of life that I know nothing about and have never thought about. Of course this equipment wears down, and of course parts need to be replaced. But I never think about all of that. If you had asked me what happens when a tooth broke off a bucket before this video, I'd barely understand the question let alone know the answer. Thanks for bringing to light these aspects of the world that are common for some folks, and completely unknown to folks like me!
That`s a good welder`s mate hiding behind the beard Isaac, I must say it`s nice to see your son working with you, and those welds he did looked very nice. I used to stand back watching my son when he worked with me, it was very satisfying watching him employ the little tips and tricks I taught him, I hope you feel the same pride in your son that I do in mine.
In the workshop of clangs and welding flair, There's a man named Isaac, beyond compare. A call came in, a bucket's sad woe, A tooth had departed, like a leaf in the blow. No spare tooth in sight, just a gap so wide, Isaac scratched his head, pondering the tide. No fancy spare parts, no toolbox delight, Just Isaac and his welder, ready to unite. With a sizzle and a pop, the job was complete, Isaac had triumphed, a welding feat so sweet. The customer marveled, "Isaac, you're the best!" He shrugged and replied, "Just another welding quest."
I had to do a few of those bucket teeth repairs when I worked for my dad's construction company, his policy for his sons was, you break it you fix it. Those bucket teeth are under a huge amount of pressure, especially the corner teeth. Like you said, scarfing off the whole tooth and replacing it with a new one is a lot of work, you did a great job on that, mine always looked a little cross-eyed when I was done.🤣🤣
6:38 good old torch to the rescue. This is why one should always have secondary options. You never know what's gonna fail or not work. Being prepared is the mark of an experienced craftsman.
When I worked at EB Groton CT. I did HY-80 steel [hull] ex-ray repairs on the Los Angeles class subs. We would have to heat it to min. 200' before welding the HY-80 using either 1/8" or 3/32" 110-18 flux coated wire or MIG depending on the position and size of the repair, now I think they are all HY-100 steel. Another good instructional video about the welding trade.
I’m a contractor fitter/welder and I enjoy your videos! I work repair in shipyards and working with dirty, greasy metal makes for a good craftsman. New metal is easy as hell to fit/weld
As long as it's only buckets and schedules getting wrecked, I'm all for letting operators go bananas; it keeps you busy and makes for great content besides.
Nice repair! There’s always something that seems to pop up at the most inconvenient time, who would have expected a machine to quit working. Through all of that you still made it happen and turned over a solid repair.
I did pick up a trick when you were scarfing and beveling with the torch, you were raising the flame up and down the first pass, then the second pass, doing a smooth pull.....thank you Issac, Paul over in Florida
While we don't get to see Young Muchacho strutting his stuff in many videos, I am pretty confident that Isaac has him burning plenty of wire, rods, carbons and oxy gases so that he is at full speed should something put Isaac into the Doctor's workshop! 😂 Not that I would wish it upon Isaac but you know what construction sites can be like. 😮 Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
lol great video I asway telling my wife why I need 2 of every thing is because one breaks down you have a back up welding unit !! I love watch you work and after living in Taylor TX for 6 years and I know Leander pretty well Cedar Park ,Rock Rock ect keep the heavy equipment repairs I work in heavy equipment repair and its great to see new trick or idea
I really enjoy watching your vid's. I was a farm boy welder at 12. My welds look like shot but usually work. I'm 67 now and still welding anytime I get a chance. Yeah I use a lot of flapdisks.
My friends always ask me why I don't have a plasma cutter and use a torch..... they don't understand what fields work is 😂. Sorry the machine went down, but at least you had the torches to get prep work done and a spare at home! Some days just aren't easy... but your end product looked fantastic. Nice glue job
nice work and i see before your machine went down you were using those round carbons there good for gouging generally but if you want to bevel get some 3/8 flat carbons arcair makes them and your torch has a cutout in the jaws just for the flats they make a nice flat bevel and their great for knocking off the goobers and snots from tacks and cuts offs and knocking down high spots always keep a box on the truck along with the round ones i always have used the licoln innersheild wires nr211, nr212 and the nr311 havent used hobart in years guess ill try a coil but i always used the bigger wire like .068 and 5/64 they just fill faster and you turn me on to the longer goosenrck on your gun always just used the k126 gun with shorter 45 degree neck now i save on burning up my gloves . waiting on your next repair
I find that the NR211 wires are crack sensitive. Good wires though. and i jumped back down to .045 from .068. It was sometimes too hard to carry in all positions. I'll have to look into the flat carbons and see how well they work.
A nice sunday afternoon catch up . I guess as you said on many occasions you gotta go with what ya got and play with the hand given . In an ideal world you would have a new spare to cut and replace and your machine wouldn't have decided it wanted a trip to the repair guy . Hopefully something simple and not a huge expense . Content as good as always with a great explanation as you not bad for a couple of rookies . Thanks for sharing as always
Good pros know what to do. Great ones know what to do when things go wrong!! Awesome work again! When anyone asks why you have so many welding machines you can refer them to this video!!
I haven't seen you in a while is that your son I used to see in previous videos. Wonderful to see a father - son business so important to pass on the skills to your family. I hope you instill in him that this kind of work is highly skilled just like a college degree and can pay the same or perhaps even better. Being your own boss is a good thing too. As always quality workmanship
Isaac, many people watching your videos, especially viewers in other countries, don't have any conception of how large your service area might be, Texas is huge. Perhaps in future videos mention why you don't pop back home and pickup something you need. Thank you for the video.
Alot of welders focus only on the the welding part. Very few are real good with a torch. Torch work can almost break you or make you. 40 yrs experience I say learn the torch and get really good with it. Practice, practice. Great video my man.

Since I don't have an arc gouger, it was better to have seen you do this with the torch. I bought that same torch two years ago when I saw you using one on that CAT boom repair. The only thing I need to get is that giant rose bud or whatever it's called to be able to apply more heat. The only thing left is to practice more with both. Thanks for another lesson.
I repaired one of those that was never used. it was a bad casting with big cracks that appeared after shipping to customer, and I had to completely remove it, and replace it. it must have been 3 inches of weld that I had to carbon-arc through!
Your boy is putting on some weight! Mom must be a very good cook. Great to see him out in the field getting additional OJT. You made it look so easy, a sign of a skilled professional. Shame about the issue with your welder, hopefully Miller foots the check for repairs.
