Gospel Music drew my attention towards this type of Guitar because w/ the Low B String, it's way easier to transpose on the Fly especially on Church Gigs. Gospel Singers love extended Range Guitars cause they can find the right key.

7 (and more) String Acoustic Guitars exist too & Schecter makes them so they're great for unplugged settings complete w/ a Built in tuner. They do make Nylon String versions:th-cam.com/video/5g08tbonoHM/w-d-xo.html which do have a Special sound.

@@jimmyfranklin Good thing Schecter makes 7 String Acoustic-Electric Guitars. Ben Eller figured out by Tuning the G String down a Half Step, you can use the Bottom 6 Strings like a Baritone w/ a Melodic High E to broaden your voicings in order to play songs by artists that are written in B Standard Tuning such as my favorite song that I'd like to hear played on this Guitar & Sung, Stay or Leave by Dave Matthews:tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/dave-matthews-band/stay-or-leave-tabs-103857 The tab says the Tuning is B-B so Ben Eller's Tuning will do the trick:th-cam.com/video/g5YXlRg9FE0/w-d-xo.html, & the coolest advantage is that this tuning might put the song into a more comfortable key to sing if eg you find the song too high & you wanna go down a 4th (or to low & you wanna go up a 5th in some cases).

I have played off and on over the years but really got down to it this year. Mainly acoustic and learning roots and bluegrass so the 7 string will be a great change of pace. Metal is my jam. 7:30 That chord sounds massive (would be even more epic with a bass guitar playing a low D). Also, ADADGBE would be my main tuning once I get a 7-string. It would be so fun with those low inverted power chords. And I really hope 7-strings will become the standard. They make playing music from jazz to rock to metal more versatile and fun!

My 1st experience with a strandberg...hoping for the best. It'll be my 2nd 7 string giving me a good reference on what I'm most comfortable with. Got to say, I'm pretty excited to see what it offers. @@jimmyfranklin Grab some popcorn...bit of a back story leading up to my purchase. I've been playing drums since the age of 4 (I'm now 47) and always dabbled on guitar here and there, nothing serious. So last year to help and encourage my daughter to play her saxophone scales, I figured I could learn them on guitar and do them with her. It also just would have been nice to know first that the alto sax is an Eflat instrument, would have saved a few arguments LOL, UGH! So far no big deal.
Then comes C19. Once I knew this thing was gonna hang around , I was going be within these four walls for some time, no gigs to play, I just dove head first into the guitar. I'm so happy I just did it and didn't wait till 'next week' as this was always something I wanted to be somewhat proficient at. So to cover as many bases as I can, at times I'll hang with the wife and daughter, sit in front of the tv, on the patio, wherever and do scales, exercises and/or just play without really being a bother. It's awesome to hear and feel improvements in my technique and now play things I've listened to no longer saying "I wish, someday!" AND I'm having a BLAST!! I'm old man, I need to catch up! LOL. I'm fortunate to be getting a huge chunk of time in at least doing something productive musically. I'm liking that I'm not just always away in the basement playing the drums, disconnected. My family has always been supportive in all of my many, many music endeavors as it's always been part of my life, sometimes taking up a decent chunk. I'm grateful they get why it's the 'fix' I need at times, or the therapy I need after a rough day and also that it's just a part of me.
Ok, so now I purchase a Classic 7. I'm really hoping that the strandberg's smaller size, less weight and ergonomics work out first and foremost. Working from home/family allows me some days 3-4+ hrs of playing, some days even at a long stretch. At times I'll have fatigue in my left hand/wrist (thumb esp.) and a bit in my back. I get stubborn wanting to keep playing and push through, "I'm making progress, can't stop!!" I then realize If I go too far, screw something up, strain something, now I'll set myself back. Also, between sitting, standing, lying on the couch, in bed, this guitar may help. I'm crossing my fingers that this guitar can give me some extra play time while being a bit more comfortable, less prone to injury. I'm hoping, maybe, just a small learning curve to adapt to the whole headless, endurneck, fanned fret thing. Part of me feels like it seems like I'm diving in the deep end of the pool barely knowing how to doggy paddle yet I'm excited! Better now than never I'm guess. I'll keep ya posted.

Superstition by Stevie Wonder is a good one to play on the 7 String Guitar as well as Sing, & that can be done by tuning the Guitar down a Half Step (Eb Standard plus Low Bb on the Bass Side), using the bridge Pickup & picking really close to the bridge. Take a listen to my Guitar cover of this song:th-cam.com/video/z7egJMKT-68/w-d-xo.html because if anybody were to pick away this song on an Extended Range Guitar, it would attract lots of Choirs (and audience members) to sing along.

I love my 7 string acoustic, but having fanned frets has definitely opened up more options in tunings. I'm no professional, but I've spent entirely to much time and money now in this experiment to turn back now lol.
Instead of using a standard low string I use a high g string and swap through alternate tunings mid song using pitch keys and a Keith tuner. I'm planning on getting 2 more Keith tuners so I can drop my low d string to drop g. I'm trying to also figure out a way to get a pitch key to drop from d to c on the fly.
The tunings I use that i can quickly swap between are
D,A,D,G,a,d,g---extended dadgad nuff said about this tuning
D,G,D,G,b,d,g---Open G "behold an extended range banjo"
    D,G,D,G,c,d,g---Mountain Minor "Clawhammer banjo/mountain music"
    D,G,C,G,c,d,g---Double C tuning "MORE BANJOS!"
    D,G,D,G,a,d,g---Dsus²
D,G,D,G,a#,d,g---Open Gm "probably my favorite tuning"this tuning makes normal guitar patterns possible on the highest 3 strings it's just like you have a capo up 3 frets on those strings. I really can't say enough about this tuning cascading waterfall harmonics are hauntingly beautiful and dropping the D to a low G just adds so much to it (RIP 7th string intonation)
I steal a bunch from banjo players having the high g string on the bottom makes flat picking scrugs style banjo possible and I'm currently learning clawhammer banjo stuff as well. Eventually I'll figure out selective picking and start throwing that into some weird bluegrass stuff.

Necks feels great, string gauges(nowadays) are better suited, necks rest better in my hands. As when it comes to song writing you can never get lost! Rhythms fill out better, truly no need to detune, if you have to detune there's 3 amazing tunings you can use, all with gauge 10-56, tunings are;
    Dropped A:(Low-High)- A E A D G B E
Bb(Low-High)- Bb Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb
    A (Low-High)- A D G C F A D
