Unfortunately many no longer know how to teach and just read slides to students and get upset when questions are asked.

Thanks! Also the variable domains are just the outer domains of the Fab fragments. A single Fab fragment has four domains, two of which bind the antigen (heavy chain variable and light chain variable, VH and VL on this diagram) and two of which don't participate in binding (heavy chain constant 1 and light chain constant, CH and CL on this diagram).

I LOOOOOVE this video! I have an exam in a few days and I am confused about one thing in here. Can someone please clarify? If the APC can be a B lymphocyte, then would he only ever present to a T lymphocyte? Otherwise, all non B cells that are APC, present to a B cell?

As as you said in ur lec Antigen Presenting Cells present Antigen via MHCs to either B Lymphocytes or T lymphocytes but later on we study APCs have MCH II molecules which can interact with Only CD4+ or T helper cells only.
Do APCs also have MHC I as they are nucleated too?

  • @mattiasalimbeni8400

    you made a mistake!
actually only T cells receive antigens form the APCs.
the antigens presented to the B cells flow autonomously trough lymphatic vessels from the site of infection up to cortical region of lymph nodes where they can meet B cells.
