Because of the debug menu, I was exploring the Backrooms in the 90s haha. Also, yeah, I had to use the "Face Method" the activate it as well. Those were the days!
This is so cool to see someone talk about. I think I learned about this on cheatcc and when I saw you use your face to tilt the stick, it reminded me that I used to do the same thing😂 A couple of times I even asked my mom to help me out and hold some buttons but this video is very nostalgic🙌🏽
And there is more! There are certain inputs you can use to control things like AT-AT's in the Hoth level, NPC's like Stoorm Troopers, Wampas or vehicles like an X-Wing, Tie Fighter or even the Millennium Falcon. Can't tell you how many times I played the last space mission just flying around in the Tie Fighter, so much fun and I'm pretty sure the vehicles all handle differently which is a nice touch.
We only ever used that code to play as the Wampa on the snow level and storm troopers, wild to know there was so much more beyond the surface of a silly cheat code
what interested me the most- you can change fog colors (RGB), thickness and Ambient Light Direction and Color. This way you could probably change the look a ton. The only game that had something similar was RUSH
It was a bit of a downer when I found that I couldn't spawn a jetpack during the the train portion of the Ord Mandell Junkyard level. How cool would it be to explore all of the Easter eggs in a more leisurely manner? Maybe that's half the fun of spotting a wrecked ISD, or random Sand Crawler. Also, I appreciate being reminded that I can switch to a widescreen aspect ratio via the debug menu. I've been exploring that sort of functionlaity for the past couple of years and some games do it well but are interlaced -_- such as South Park 64. Anyway, glad I watched this video.
And was so damn finicky to hold all those buttons and just hold the stick half way multiple times etc .but was so satisfying to get it.he shows it just as holding left a few times but I distinctly remember you had to hold it right in-between neutral and left till it beeped .then halfway to the right till it beeped ..etc back and forth a few times
Try this for Star Wars Episode 1 Racer (N64): Type these in at the naming files screen while holding Z and pressing with L: Debug Mode- RRDEBUG Dual Controller- RRDUAL Invincibility- RRJABBA Mirror- RRTHEBEAST After typing them in start the race and pause, then on the D-pad push: Debug- Left, Down, Right, Up Invincibility- Left, Down, Right Up NOTE: Mirror and Dual Controller just need the code, Dual setting uses ports #1 and 3. Debug Controls While the Debug code or all cheats code is on, just put the debug number on anything except 0 and do the following: See through walls - Left+Z Fast Forward Level - Up Re-Wind level - Down Pod Racer Invisible - Left Suicide - Right
Directions not clear. Is the name all CAPS as you shown on the bottom left of the screen or upper and lower case like you showed in the game menu? And five times what exactly? The whole process or just the tilting the stick to the left? Do you have to go in and out of the game five times, meaning hit start, do one session of it. Then press start and press start to get back to the pause menu and redo it four more times? And one code online said one space before wampa and two spaces before stompa, which is correct? Thank you.
I did this with this game duke nukem zero hour and episode 1 pod racing while I was little it was pretty cool zero hour is arguably better than this debug mode
Awesome video, you did a great job of showcasing everything. Will definitely be trying this out for myself!
Glad you love the video man ans honestly once you start it's pretty incredible what you can do. It still blows my mind it's all on the 64
Gosh, I grew up playing this! Never beat it but knowing this now is wild! The antics you have to do to access that debug menu is peak gaming. 🤣
Now you CAN beat it. Artificially but shit no one cares if ya do! Game is to your full disposal!
Because of the debug menu, I was exploring the Backrooms in the 90s haha.

Oh the face method? Haven't heard of that before!

Yeah right? The method to using these is a bit obtuse and there is some nostalgia in how it works. Damn shame cheats aren't a thing

Vivid memories of doing this when I was young. Great game.
Its pretty archaic in today's standards but a fun one to revisit regardless
We only ever used that code to play as the Wampa on the snow level and storm troopers, wild to know there was so much more beyond the surface of a silly cheat code
That's what made me so surprised to see there is significantly more than we initially knew
I had no idea about this when I was a kid, I wonder when this was discovered? Also, I like your format, subbed.
My all time favorite game, SO NOSTALGIC 💚
I just turned 40....Damn It almost doesnt seem real that this game is that old...Crazy huh?
Been almost 30 years man, time hella flies.
In Latin "Tempus Fuget" Time Flies For Sure

On 64 right? I had no idea actually, I'd be interested in checking it out!!

Hahaha right? Just to spawn out and break the game. Thanks for watching btw!!!
Lol I was Doing this Debug Cheat Menu in The 90s A year after games release
And your point?
And was so damn finicky to hold all those buttons and just hold the stick half way multiple times etc .but was so satisfying to get it.he shows it just as holding left a few times but I distinctly remember you had to hold it right in-between neutral and left till it beeped .then halfway to the right till it beeped ..etc back and forth a few times
@@mutinyrider666 YUP 💯
@@mutinyrider666 IT was taxing but if You manipulated your fingers at the right angle? Shit with practice I used to punch it the codes in fast! Lol
It should be mentioned that the full cheat menu is only accessible in the newest version of the game.
Didn't know that tbh, it didn't happen to me so never mentioned it but does make sense
Try this for Star Wars Episode 1 Racer (N64):
Type these in at the naming files screen while holding Z and pressing with L:
Debug Mode- RRDEBUG
Dual Controller- RRDUAL
Invincibility- RRJABBA
Mirror- RRTHEBEAST
After typing them in start the race and pause, then on the D-pad push:
Debug- Left, Down, Right, Up
Invincibility- Left, Down, Right Up

While the Debug code or all cheats code is on, just put the debug number on anything except 0 and do the following:
See through walls - Left+Z
Fast Forward Level - Up
Re-Wind level - Down
Pod Racer Invisible - Left
Suicide - Right
Ah nice! See now I wish I didn't get rid of my 64 copy so I could try this 😁
Sonic The Hedgehog 1 Debug on Genesis.
It's really cool the amount of freedom they give you that.
Oooooo I always heard how much you can do in that Debug! Might not be a bad idea to check out!
Directions not clear. Is the name all CAPS as you shown on the bottom left of the screen or upper and lower case like you showed in the game menu? And five times what exactly? To get the debug menu on … I hade to use all fingers and mouth😅😅😅😅
And then a lil peepee involved and we in!
The is an option for the expansion pack but I couldn't get it to enable
First I've heard of that. The game released before the expansion pak so no way there is optimization for it.
Hey man, I tried your instructions on activating the debug menu and I heard those noises. But the menu never showed up. Any ideas?
Hmmm it should definitely show up for sure. After that you can go into any file and toggle from there the button to activate the cheat
@@Kelphelp darn, yea didn’t work for me. Do you need an expansion pack in order for it to work. I only have a jumper pack in my 64
No this can be done with a jumper. Didn't use any tricks. After that just go into thr menu of any level and that's it! Idk what else to day man
@@Kelphelp 😢 thanks man!
No problem. Good luck man
i love this game.
Same man, still has a special place in my heart
Used to do this when I was a kid. Used to work too. Won’t now. Checked for typos and everything :/
As in you tried the command on screen and nothing?
Cheat codes was the best with this game
Big agree. Hella memorable
I did this with this game duke nukem zero hour and episode 1 pod racing while I was little it was pretty cool zero hour is arguably better than this debug mode
Oooooo I'll Def check those out whenever I get a copy! I'd love to try!
👍👍👍👍👍
