Fun fact: The name,The Bee Gees came from their name, Gibb. The Brothers Gibb.
The main singer is Barry Gibb, the oldest brother.
The other two are twins, Maurice (beard) and Robin. They're both deceased with the last decade or so. Then the youngest brother, Andy, died back in the 80's.
They NEVER show off. They don't need to. They are too talented to for that and too mature for that.
The happiness it’s given me seeing you introduce your brother to the Bee Gees with such joy and singing it together.

The BeeGees started singing professionally in 1958. Barry is the only brother still alive. The twins, Robin (long hair), Maurice (balding), & youngest brother Andy (solo artist), have all gone on to "Rock 'n' Roll Heaven". They're firing up that Heavenly choir! Thanks for your reaction.
They continued to sing together then Maurice passed away in 2003 Barry and Robin continued until Robin’s death in 2012. Barry has performed since then but being last and oldest surviving of 4 brothers has taken a toll on him. I’ve seen him in interviews and he just seems so down to earth. Barry just turned 77 this year

I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, & you have no idea how happy it makes me, to see the younger generation discover the music we fell in love with !!! All three brothers had amazing falsetto's, powerful chest voices, & could sing anything in between. They truly were a once in a lifetime gift of musical genius, in every aspect! Please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed. They span over many decades, & crossed quite a few genres. I believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤❤

The Gibb brothers Barry, twins Maurice & Robin. They were born of English parents, brought up in Australia. I met them in 1964 when my baby daughter was 6 was. old. My husband was an entertainer & we were all at a party & they all wanted to hold my baby girl. They did have another brother Andy Gibb who had become famous in the States a little after that but he died. Barry is the only one now living. "Daryl Hall & John Oates - Maneater (Official Video)" (by the channel: Daryl Hall & John Oates) --this is an American pop rock duo formed in Philadelphia in 1970. Daryl Hall is usually the primary lead vocalist and they both pretty much wrote all their songs. This song "Maneater" is from their eleventh studio album called "H2O" released in 1982. These boys used to sing in their bedroom as young kids and their mother thought her boys were listening to the radio!! This is the time when their were no computers, no auto tune, nothing!! Just talent!!
Barry Gibb, the falsetto singer in the middle, is the oldest brother. The two other brothers Robin and Maurice are twins. Michael Jackson and Barry were close friends. Michael was Barry's son godfather.
The Gibb brothers were responsible for their parents immigrating from the UK to Australia. A police officer suggested to their parents to move to Australia because the boys were inclined to get in trouble and were heading to major trouble. In Australia, they started singing as a child act. They then moved back to the UK for more opportunities in the music business. They became major successes there and then moved to the US. Later they changed their sound with Barry singing falsetto.
They had a younger brother Andy that they set up to be a big solo star They wrote Andy's songs as they did for themselves and other major stars. Andy developed a severe drug problem and nearly destroyed his career. After he became rehabilitated, he then started performing with his older brothers. He was planning to join their act permanently when he died unexpectedly due to myocarditis.
Both Maurice and Robin are dead. Maurice died suddenly from cardiac arrest. Robin died years later from cancer. Barry returned to performing.after being retired with members of the next generation of the Gibb family.
Im 61 , I was 15 when Saturday Night Fever came out and was gutted that i was not allowed to see the film in cinema .as it was 18 rating in the uk. I got to see the BeeGees live in the 90s and they were amazing. I remember the single Night Fever came out and there was a queue around the shop of people buying it

He Bee gees were known for the falsetto singing back in the day. They were active as a group from the 1960s to 2003 when Maurice passed away. They wrote their own songs and also wrote for others
They begin singing back in the 50s to 90s. They had 4th bro name Andy Gibbs,he passed away when he was in his 30.

Andy was my favorite of the brothers Gibb no one can take anything from him he was very talented in his own right. Sadly he passed away at 30 years young. Awesome reaction. love to you both from Memphis Tn.

They were in their late 20s early 30s in the 1970s. Barry had album In the now 2016 at age 70 and Greenfields in 2021 at age 75. He is 77 and still writing music. You should do This is where i came in, Man in the middle and Wedding day all from their last album as a group in 2001, because Maurice sadly passed away in 2003. Love seeing another generation discovering this great group❤

I think when listening to the songs from the soundtrack of Saturday Night Fever, it’s important to understand how the songs fit in the movie. It’s not an easy movie to watch because it depicts a lot of what was happening at the time, but I think the songs become more important once someone has seen the movie.

As far as your age in 2023 question, I believe you started it with, "If you were 21 in 1979, how old would you be now?" That is why you came up with a low number; you forgot to add 21 to that number for the real age [2023 minus 1979 plus 21 OR 1979 minus 21 to get year of birth (1958), then 2023 minus 1958].
You really need to watch the 1979 LIVE concert version of "You Should Be Dancing" and share it with your brother. Baby brother Andy is featured with Barry, Robin and Mo. It is spectacular. I dare you to stay in your seat!

Andy was my favorite of the brother's Gibb he was very talented in his own right no one can take that away from sweet Andy. yes he passed away at 30 years old on March 10, 1988. Barry is the last one he was a sharp dresser and as sexy as Andy.

These were some awesome times! Barry is singing in a falsetto. Not many can do that. Robin is in the red and Maurice (pronounced Morris) in the white. The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988.
The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born.
All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically.
Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced).
From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). I don't know how much you two differ in age, but Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. I've seen reactions before people couldn't believe they weren't black. And after this in the disco era there was backlash against them and they stopped performing as a group for a while and wrote and produced for other people.
