    Really great tutorial! I'd recently gotten this brushpack and it's been such a fun tool to play with. I have been having issues though making selections like shown here though in my own pixel art, and was wondering how you were able to move portions of the character without anti-aliased pixels being left behind? It seemed to occur regardless if I was using freehand or rectangle and would leave blurry areas of my character behind. Thanks for any input!

    • @IttaiManero
      @IttaiManero  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thank you so much! Unfortunately the selection tool in Procreate doesn’t have any way to turn off anti-aliasing yet, so it will always leave some artifacts behind. Making sure nearest neighbor is always selected in the interpolation options for the transform tool always helps when doing pixel art. What I did in this video after selecting something and moving it was to clean up with the eraser tool and repainted the desired parts. Hope this helps!

      @@IttaiManero I can see you like covering different styles. You’re very exceptional on pixel art on Procreate. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t know anyone teaching and selling products this well done specifically on Procreate. You’re pretty unique. Would it not help your channel to just focus on pixel art? I’ve always been taught about the importance of niching down, to have a specific thing that you’re really good at and repeat it because audiences love consistency. It could draw more attention for you than covering a lot of different topics. Some channels are good and successful at variety. It’s just really hard to get traction in the beginning without repetition on one subtopic within a topic first. Just a thought.

    • @IttaiManero
      @IttaiManero  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sadepennbrook I totally see your very valid point! It may look like that since I post videos about how to do pixel art, or how to paint with oils, or pastels, or watercolors in Procreate. However, I see myself as a brush maker. I love crafting and elaborating specific brush sets to achieve specific styles or mediums. Then I love teaching my audience/customers how to use my tools, so that they can use them to their full potential. In that sense, isn’t my channel a specific niche for Procreate artists who want to achieve specific things within their favorite painting app? At the end of the day, it is actually more important to me to use my channel to help my customers/audience use my brushes and tools to their full potential than to be very successful on TH-cam 😊

    Hi thank you for your videos they are a great help! How did you make a Timelapse of the procreate drawing process, my time lapse when exported is very blurry and idk if that’s bc it’s pixel art? My settings are probably 2k and lossless quality on procreate

    • @IttaiManero
      @IttaiManero  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, thanks for the nice words. My video is not from the timelapse that Procreate generates. You’re right, those don’t work well when doing pixel art. It is because the canvas is so small that Procreate blows it up and the quality gets messed up. Instead I’m recording my whole iPad screen, that’s why you can also see the interface and not only the artwork.
      There are many tutorials out there on how to record your iPad screen, here’s one I found: th-cam.com/video/Ep8BHXCNjOc/w-d-xo.html

    does not the selection tool have anti-aliasing always enabled?
    I mean, does not moving parts of the character make show blurred pixels where the cut was done? It Always happens to me, and from what i know you can't disable the anti- aliasing for the selection tool,

    • @IttaiManero
      @IttaiManero  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the selection tool can add some semitransparent pixels here and there when cutting and moving parts of the character, but these sprites are small and very simple, it’s very easy to just repaint/erase to fix those few pixels

    Hi! Lovely tutorial. helped me immensely in learning how to animate a small sprite slightly. I’m working on making a png gif sprite with no background and noticed that when i resize the canvas, the background darkens. when i zoom in and out it changed brightness as well which, is weird. any tips?

    • @aprileem2

    • @IttaiManero
      @IttaiManero  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aprileem2 you probably have the grid activated, which at such small scale (the grid is 1 pixel sized if you have followed my pixel art tutorials) you don’t notice it, but when you enlarge the artwork, it makes it look like your artwork is darker, but it’s not. Just need to turn off the grid 😊

    This is a great tutorial, but you shouldn't have skipped over the technical stuff - how you actually moved the canvas around - copied and pasted etc. I had to slow down to .25 and rewatch a bunch of times to see what you enabled/disabled, like the freeform selection/bicubic movement. It may be basic stuff but it's things I've never had to use before.
