My Lady Jane, the Tudor comedy-ish series is out on Prime today, so ill be checking that out over the weekend too. I feel the diversity in many television shows was forced at first too. But now i keep the perspective that its just an actor playing a role and Ive been very comfortable with it ever since.
Maybe we should ask Tony Blairs wife Cherie Blair more about the Assination of Abraham Lincoln as it was her direct Ancestor that shot him John Wilkes Booth. And take no notice of what google says i had a friend Genealogist look at it. It is her family for sure. Maybe Tony made google an offer they couldn't refuse to mislead. Completely agree with top spot, Shogun was a masterpiece.
Just saying but If you want to know more about the time period that Franklin takes place in I would highly recommend you to watch this amazing show called Turn and it’s about the first spy ring in American history the Culper spy ring but it also shows other things but besides the American spy’s it also shows the British spy’s like John Andre and American traitor Benedict Arnold.
@@bettinapartridge3434 it’s on Amazon prime and i really enjoyed the show so much that I watched it over and over again because like that’s how good it was in my opinion.
WOW!!! beyond belief, you have chosen to give your self the TH-cam name of HistorySpark and as such give comment on the 'historical' nature and content of TV series that are based on times in the 'past'. History is the study of past factual events and that change over time, and covers all aspects of human society, i.e. political, social, economic, scientific, technological, medical, cultural, intellectual, religious and military developments. Its recording is commonly determined by use off by primary sources in the form of certified and agreed written first-hand experience of the event or secondary sources that convey the experiences of others. Also, relic, artefacts, statues, carvings etc which again are certified and agreed to be real and thus deemed as being valid recording for historical purposes. For centuries generally apart from political subversion of the known and recorded history, history is regarded by educated, intelligent and wise people to where ever possible, i.e verified to be of a FACTUAL, HONEST & OBJECTIVE nature. YOU THEN say in two of your recommendations there is a 'diversity' element BUT does not distract from the story line, point and content of the series. Ask your self how far are you from China's Cultural Revolution and Pol Pot’s social engineering in removing all traditional historical teaching and replace one with an idolized false one - leading to the 'Killing Fields'. Because by not being critical and stating emphatically that black actors playing parts that NEVER would have been the case as high ranking Marxist officials or a a 16th century Lord at Henry VIII's court, when do you draw the line and back TRUE factual history when it is being used as the basis of a story line for a TV series. Finally, what would make you be true to history, let's say when a TV series comes out and there are black actors playing senior Nazis??? - would that be acceptable to you.
Dude it’s TV, this recent thing of tv and movies having to be historically accurate is annoying. If you want to learn the real history there’s plenty of options, a great tv show based on history is more than acceptable if it deviates for engaging content
We cannot claim "historical drama" or "based on actual events and personalities" as legitimacy for putting black actors with Russian names in the middle of the story. It ruined the series for me. I could barely tolerate two episodes. The story line was intriguing but using inclusion to distort and destroy actual historical stories was irresponsible, in poor taste, and compelled me to just go along with Russian movies and TV shows who will be authentic in telling their own history, rather than this crap, "Gentleman in Moscow." There was nothing at all gentlemanly about this profane and disgusting work. Please just refer to as FICTION, because that is what you reduced this to. FICTION, really poor fiction at that.
Thank you. Really liked Shogun, I’ve watched that one 2 times. Great recommendations
I am anxious to watch Those about to die a TV Show about during the Roman Empire and Antony Hopkins will be Vespasian, I can't wait to watch it. :)
Thanks for another great video !!!

Shardlake is hands down the best show of 2024

You should watch the original shogun . Much bettter.

So Shardlake has Sean Bean? There goes the plot- it’s a good bet on what happens!
I think even Sean bean would struggle to get killed in only 5 mins of screen time lol
@@HistorySpark If anyone in the film or tv industry can pull that one off, it’s Bean!
It truly seem like there is focused inclusion and distorted untruths within the Moses tv series.
Because there is

Moses is a myth, not historic.
@@JbcdbIt is!
But the theme is set in historic times
