Love this theme so much. Soulburner as a character got me to *love* a deck I used to hate. It helps that Reincarnation Link Summoning is such a cool mechanic.

Before meeting Flame he was a country bumpkin who didn't know the first thing about technology, and besides he wanted nothing to do with VR because of his trauma in the Lost Incident
Also, his Cyberse deck was Flame's; his original deck was a warrior deck

his monsters's whole gimmick is Reincarnation your assesment is not far if you think about it.

And then some (quite a lot) of his monsters are mythological animals (Dragon, Phoenix, Chimera, Almiraj, and the new Synchro being Gryphon), and his non-mythological boss monsters/Extra deck monsters also have ties to legends and myths. Lion, Stallion, Eagle, Lynx, are all associated with Mythological/Legendary figures.
