We bought the first color television set on our block. Had it delivered the day Cinderella aired and invited everyone on our block. Our house was full to overflowing and as the credits started, my mom realized she’d not invited the new family on the block - the Walkers. She sent my sister running down the street to invite them. They came and everyone had a great time. I miss the days when everyone knew everyone on their block. What a great memory this is.
My sister and I watched this Cinderella in the 60s and fell in love with it. We were able to see it a couple more times before it just disappeared. In approximately 2018 or so, she and I found three dvds at Barnes & Noble and snatched them up. I took 2, for me and my daughter, and my sister bought the third dvd. Then, she ordered 3 more for her daughters. Our world is complee!

When i was a kid, we had this on vhs. This my "mom's cinderella." I thought there was something so absurd and creapy... but also just so damned magical about the whole thing
I think this movie was from the 1950s way before the original Disney Version from the 1950 year after JF Kennedy was President… and 1951 was when my mom was born. years before me. I think; 🧐
I’m still kinda leaning towards to the 1997 remake of Cinderella that one came out to vhs way back when is a kid. and 1997 was the year before joungkook was born; 😊

However that was not preserved on video so in 1965, CBS put together a new version and this excerpt is from that version. The 1965 version was in color, had better special effects but the teleplay was not as good and Julie Andrews was better than Lesley Ann Warren could be at that point in her career. But it’s still very enjoyable as is the Brandy/Whitney Houston version.

I watched this as a child. I know a lot of people like Leslie Ann Warren, but I’m not a fan. Her voice isn’t great and even as a kid I was distracted by her teeth.
Because they were natural? People didn't always need to look like cardboard cutouts, all alike with no imperfections. Nothing that is unique to them. She was adorable. The underdog is never the poster child for beauty. The real beauty was in her heart.
Well since you mentioned you also like the Whitney Houston one (I really like both as well) the upcoming Disney Descendants 4 will have Paolo & Brandy returning as King Charming & Queen Cinderella with their daughter Chloe being one of the movies 2 main characters, along with Red, the daughter of the Queen of Hearts from Wonderland ☺

Actually this 1965 version was recorded on videotape. The live version was in the 1950s starting Julian Andrews.
