Katie, I have always drawn love and inspiration from your videos. I have had 3 major devastating losses in my career. Each time I thought I would never be able to "start" again. But each time, God has stepped in and shown me a greater "next" position. My cup overflowed with incredible new adventures and blessings. Those changes were incredibly painful and sometimes came after a long wait and many humbling experiences , but they always made me a better person and better able to serve the Lord in a greater and more fruitful manner. Please know that you are never alone. The community will continue to love you and your great works because of your passion and your great ability to communicate that passion, no matter what product you are using!

I told my husband the other day that in a year, I'm probably going to view this as a blessing (I tend to want to stay in circumstances that are comfortable but not always right for me). I can't wait to see what fruit and opportunity the Lord has in store for me (and all of my CTMH sisters).

Thank you for sharing this with love. I'm a demo for another company but before then, I used products from CTMH and other companies. Others may say that they cannot imagine but I can. I was a former seller for House of Lloyd/Christmas Around the World. I had finished a party, came home and tried to call the order in (that was before internet ordering) and the phone was disconnected. That was akin to the note on the door. So my heart hurts so much for all of you. I know that you don't feel it now but it will be ok. Sending hugs and prayers for you all
Katie, thank you for sharing your heart to us. You are blessed in the sense that Jeanette has been upfront & honest with everyone whereas when CM suddenly shut down 12 years ago & many of us lost a lot of money as well as product, it was devastating and tore us apart for many reasons. I am not shocked that Jeanette has made this decision at this time as I follow the world news & know that the US is not in a very good place in the financial sector along with many other countries & I suspect that in the very near future we are going to find a lot of other companies crash. As far as Australia goes, we have now lost two great companies over this past 12 months due to the financial crisis going on in the world around us. So in a couple of years time we could be looking back & thank her for her wise decision. In the meantime I am thankful that you along with my other favourite US ladies are continuing with your videos & I am very sure that like myself you are buying up stock to keep you going for quite some time before you introduce other products into your pages. We are being blessed by the paper sale this month... I am just making sure I have plenty of thin 3-D tape in stock as I can't seem to find it here in Australia. I am also sad about our spectrum noir pens as the place I was able to purchase them in Australia was the one that closed down last Christmas! Fortunately, the place I get my tombow tape & glue is still in operation!! Blessings to you & your fellow consultant's as you come to terms with this closure, it would have been nice if it could have gone until the end of the year but I think that we are all resilient - anyway, I shall keep all of you in my prayers. 🙏

Katy, thank you for your video and the kind and honest words. We all go through a tone of emotions right now. I have been a maker for more than 14 years and 3 years before that as a customer. Like you, CTMH was a big part of my creative journey and helped me to start my live here in the USA after moving from Germany. I agree that the products we were able to get were amazing and to find something new will be hard. But I also completely understand the reason why Jeanette made the decision to end her 40 year adventure. I feel for all the people at Home Office and I hope they will find a new place they can call home and for each of our Makers. As for my business, it is not as big as yours or others, but I do love my customers and I love to teach them and create with them and that is something that will not go away. Like you I will always be a creator and I will always continue to share my passion with others. The future might be an open script as of right now, but I know that things will come and we will find a way. I will take this time right now to take a deep breath, wait patiently on the outcome of all the talks going on and see what will be in writing at one point in time. Yes this might take months to be worked out, but I have plenty of paper to use and things to teach on my channel. And let’s face it, not everyone who is watching our videos has the exact same papers or is going to order them. Not everyone has the same picture either, but it is the creative process, the thoughts behind why we put this stamp here or why we chose this paper that matters. Show how they can use their papers to make it happen. I know for many it will be months until the financial side of things will be set, but like you said we all have so much more to be thankful for and this stretch of heart-ship will pass. I agree with you that almost all post in our Makers group have been understanding and supporting and yes you have the usual complainers, but I think the vast majority of Makers are thankful to have been part of this extraordinary company we called home for many many years. I’ll keep watching your videos and get inspired, I will cherish the friendships I found through CTMH and the ones that are born out of this situation right now. Love my CTMH community and I will miss it….You hang in there like we all do and let’s see where the future will take us….. If you don’t mind, I would love to join your FB group too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings, Katy. I have loved and followed your channel since I found it and am grateful it is not going anywhere. I don't use a lot of CTMH products, though the ones I use I love, but I do love the layouts and the design team layouts, etc. I feel deeply for all the CTMH employees and know it wasn't an easy decision for Janette--her baby is basically going to be no more. Since I use a variety of products, I look forward to seeing what the design team comes up with. And I will be happy to support you all however I can.
That's one of the silver linings...we can now use ANYTHING we want whereas before we couldn't use "core products" - we might not be able to have affiliate links to some things we use but like I said in the video, I'm in it for the creativity more than the "job". Now that it's been almost a month since the news, one thing is a confirmed....this FAMILY is strong and although some of my CTMH sisters are going different directions, I love that we can all stay in touch and still continue to support each other!

I'm an owner of a much smaller paper crafts brand (Sunny Studio Stamps) and started out my papercraft journey as a Close to My Heart customer. I really appreciated this uplifting, heartfelt video. I can only imagine the range of emotions you are going through losing this brand you have represented and adored. As a company, I can really relate to Jeanette for all the same reasons she has publicly shared for closing. I've only been doing my little company for 8.5 years and it's nonstop working with very few breaks and an overwhelming burden of responsibility and stress that really ages a person and wears on their health. For those reasons, I have daydreamed often about retiring since about 2 years in and this current economic environment has been ROUGH with inflation shrinking discretionary spending (and battling counterfeits). I'm still holding on and trying to make it through this market cycle, but I really hope she knows she's not alone. Hopefully, there is an arrangement to be made to continue the beautiful thing she has started. Thanks for reminding everyone what matters in the end. ❤

I’m so sorry for your loss. That’s what this is, a loss. I know when I first heard one of my first reactions was to stop crafting. I asked why am I doing my scrapbooking? I don’t even use exclusive CTMH products, but I love them. It’s beyond comforting to know you, Erin, and the rest of the CDT are staying around. Thank you.
It IS a loss...and I don't mean to lessen human loss or an other loss that people go through but when something is so engrained in you, it's truly like losing a piece of you. The CDT Girls have been my rock over the past few weeks...we talk on a daily basis MULTIPLE times and knowing that we still have each other makes it all worth it and is so comforting!

I am so sorry for your loss 😢 I was heartbroken years ago when Creative Memories closed. The loss of regular scrapping events with friends, the loss of great trusted products, being uncertain how to move forward saving my families precious memories. I'm so sorry, Patty...I have quite a few friends that were devastated with CM sold some of their branches. I am so thankful that technology has come a long way (some of that because of COVID) - I can't imagine losing a community and not having one online to offer support, friendship, and love! TFW and leaving me such a sweet, heartfelt message.
Thinking of you, my friend. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. I've been going through the grief process for the past 2 weeks. It was hard for me to focus on my family vacation because the news broke just before we left. While I've hosted workshops and taught classes, I've stayed because I'm part of a community. People that get me, and share the same excitement that I do, that laugh with me over the silly things, and cry with me over the sad. My husband has encouraged me to continue to seek out opportunities and see where this beloved craft takes me next. Thankful for that, and thankful for the friendships I've made, in large part to Close To My Heart. Best wishes to you and yours.
My heart hurts for all of you whose livelihood have been impacted by this closure. And individually I grieve because for the last five years since I found CTMH I have rejoiced at the quality, the creators, the makers who so generously give of their talents with God-given inspired designs with all of us. I'm so thankful you will continue making your beautiful videos and I pray that the Lord will fill the vacuum that this has caused in a new direction that only He knows at the moment. I pray that the owner finds peace in her decision and that it is the best thing for her. She certainly has poured out her life's work into it all these years and the beauty of it can never be told in all the cards, journals, scrapbooks and projects that have impacted in the lives of others as we gave joyfully the items we made as gifts and encouragement and support. You articulated it beautifully. In the end it's about crafting. Not the product. And not slamming the product in any respect (gasp!) but saying .. it IS about community, about designing, creating, and giving. It's true to its name. Thank you Katy. I so needed to hear that. Although I'm just a hobbyist maker, when I got the news I was away on vacation and I felt alone and devastated. Thank you for articulating so many of your thoughts and feelings.
"Alone and devastated" are good words to describe what I was feeling. I was at work (my day job) and it was hard to contain my composure. Luckily I had lots of friends that we could chat back and forth with from states and continents away from each other. The CDT Chat was ON FIRE all that day, into the night, and even the next day...although to be fair, we are CONSTANTLY chatting during any given day.
I was so devastated about the news last week, I think I was more worried that I would lose watching your videos and being in the CDT membership. I love all of your techniques, all the videos and I love all of you guys. Thank you for what you do!!
We'll still be here, Judy...in fact a fire has been lit under our butts in some ways - it's weird how the threat of losing something makes you realize how much you want to hold onto what you can and make it better!

My inspiration comes from another maker. Thank you for sharing your heart. I found CTMH about 9 months ago. Although I am sad that the company has decided to close, I am thankful for the makers that I have been introduced to on TH-cam. Each one has a different style of creating a layout page. I am so thankful for this community. I am more of a card maker.
Thank you for thus! I stumbled upon this today and needed it! I am only a customer who has lost some outstanding product. I have used this product for over 20 years! It hurts my heart! I live in Vurginia and have a maker who has done it fir over ladt probably 10myears! She is awesome. Has a whole shop ,dies workshops, crops and videos. Live her and pray she can land on her feet. May God heal your broken heart and guide you forward! Time will give clarity!

It is hard to make sense of why closing down was the only option, it has always been such a beautiful, high quality Company, which I have loved, it is most definitely leaving a gasping hole in my heart where I feel doubtful that another Company will be able to fill the void in me. Katy, your heartfelt video has shared your pain, along with all Makers, creators of CTMH. I am in Australia and the Makers I am in contact with are shocked but have already put in place plans to carry on our monthly workshops differently. The product is excellent and sad this is lost. Nothing stays the same, unfortunately, but connections and friends and crafters do remain the same and we can change direction, as many of us do with having more than one interest going all the time. I for one will assist your monetisation of your channel by watching ads, liking and commenting which all help. Monetisation is not your priority but losing income, everything helps I'm sure. New opportunities will arrive for all your talented and generous ladies.

I’m no longer a scrapbooker but I am a Bible journaler and I think that’s why this is in my feed from a few different creators that I haven’t followed before now. I’m so very sorry for everyone who lost their businesses and am interested in where everyone goes after so I can take bit of ideas and maybe supplies for what I do. Small bright side is I do think it’s putting you in front of new people, at least it did for me for several new to me creators this week ❤

Thank you! I just posted a "memory" today of my family on the pages of the CTMH Catalog - I have very fond memories of my kiddos growing up on the pages of those books. Today, that memory is what I needed to smile as the deadline fast approaches.
The quality is definitely going to be missed but there are still some good companies out there and as long as we have the creative part, the products don't matter as much :0)

Katie, I have always drawn love and inspiration from your videos. I have had 3 major devastating losses in my career. Each time I thought I would never be able to "start" again. But each time, God has stepped in and shown me a greater "next" position. My cup overflowed with incredible new adventures and blessings. Those changes were incredibly painful and sometimes came after a long wait and many humbling experiences , but they always made me a better person and better able to serve the Lord in a greater and more fruitful manner. Please know that you are never alone. The community will continue to love you and your great works because of your passion and your great ability to communicate that passion, no matter what product you are using!
THANK YOU for your kind and sweet words AND WISDOM! I told my husband the other day that in a year, I'm probably going to view this as a blessing (I tend to want to stay in circumstances that are comfortable but not always right for me). I can't wait to see what fruit and opportunity the Lord has in store for me (and all of my CTMH sisters).

Thank you for sharing this with love. I'm a demo for another company but before then, I used products from CTMH and other companies. Others may say that they cannot imagine but I can. I was a former seller for House of Lloyd/Christmas Around the World. I had finished a party, came home and tried to call the order in (that was before internet ordering) and the phone was disconnected. That was akin to the note on the door. So my heart hurts so much for all of you. I know that you don't feel it now but it will be ok. Sending hugs and prayers for you all

Katie, thank you for sharing your heart to us. You are blessed in the sense that Jeanette has been upfront & honest with everyone whereas when CM suddenly shut down 12 years ago & many of us lost a lot of money as well as product, it was devastating and tore us apart for many reasons. I am not shocked that Jeanette has made this decision at this time as I follow the world news & know that the US is not in a very good place in the financial sector along with many other countries & I suspect that in the very near future we are going to find a lot of other companies crash. As far as Australia goes, we have now lost two great companies over this past 12 months due to the financial crisis going on in the world around us. So in a couple of years time we could be looking back & thank her for her wise decision. In the meantime I am thankful that you along with my other favourite US ladies are continuing with your videos & I am very sure that like myself you are buying up stock to keep you going for quite some time before you introduce other products into your pages. We are being blessed by the paper sale this month... I am just making sure I have plenty of thin 3-D tape in stock as I can't seem to find it here in Australia. I am also sad about our spectrum noir pens as the place I was able to purchase them in Australia was the one that closed down last Christmas! Fortunately, the place I get my tombow tape & glue is still in operation!! Blessings to you & your fellow consultant's as you come to terms with this closure, it would have been nice if it could have gone until the end of the year but I think that we are all resilient - anyway, I shall keep all of you in my prayers. 🙏

Katy, thank you for your video and the kind and honest words. We all go through a tone of emotions right now. I have been a maker for more than 14 years and 3 years before that as a customer. Like you, CTMH was a big part of my creative journey and helped me to start my live here in the USA after moving from Germany. I agree that the products we were able to get were amazing and to find something new will be hard. But I also completely understand the reason why Jeanette made the decision to end her 40 year adventure. I feel for all the people at Home Office and I hope they will find a new place they can call home and for each of our Makers. As for my business, it is not as big as yours or others, but I do love my customers and I love to teach them and create with them and that is something that will not go away. Like you I will always be a creator and I will always continue to share my passion with others. The future might be an open script as of right now, but I know that things will come and we will find a way. I will take this time right now to take a deep breath, wait patiently on the outcome of all the talks going on and see what will be in writing at one point in time. Yes this might take months to be worked out, but I have plenty of paper to use and things to teach on my channel. And let’s face it, not everyone who is watching our videos has the exact same papers or is going to order them. Not everyone has the same picture either, but it is the creative process, the thoughts behind why we put this stamp here or why we chose this paper that matters. Show how they can use their papers to make it happen. I know for many it will be months until the financial side of things will be set, but like you said we all have so much more to be thankful for and this stretch of heart-ship will pass. I agree with you that almost all post in our Makers group have been understanding and supporting and yes you have the usual complainers, but I think the vast majority of Makers are thankful to have been part of this extraordinary company we called home for many many years. I’ll keep watching your videos and get inspired, I will cherish the friendships I found through CTMH and the ones that are born out of this situation right now. Love my CTMH community and I will miss it….You hang in there like we all do and let’s see where the future will take us….. If you don’t mind, I would love to join your FB group too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings, Katy. I have loved and followed your channel since I found it and am grateful it is not going anywhere. I don't use a lot of CTMH products, though the ones I use I love, but I do love the layouts and the design team layouts, etc. I feel deeply for all the CTMH employees and know it wasn't an easy decision for Janette--her baby is basically going to be no more. Since I use a variety of products, I look forward to seeing what the design team comes up with. And I will be happy to support you all however I can.
That's one of the silver linings...we can now use ANYTHING we want whereas before we couldn't use "core products" - we might not be able to have affiliate links to some things we use but like I said in the video, I'm in it for the creativity more than the "job". Thanks for finding me and watching...I truly appreciate it!

Now that it's been almost a month since the news, one thing is a confirmed....this FAMILY is strong and although some of my CTMH sisters are going different directions, I love that we can all stay in touch and still continue to support each other!

I am just a hobbyist maker and have only been with CTMH for a couple years but I am so sad about all of this. I'm an owner of a much smaller paper crafts brand (Sunny Studio Stamps) and started out my papercraft journey as a Close to My Heart customer. I really appreciated this uplifting, heartfelt video. I can only imagine the range of emotions you are going through losing this brand you have represented and adored. As a company, I can really relate to Jeanette for all the same reasons she has publicly shared for closing. I've only been doing my little company for 8.5 years and it's nonstop working with very few breaks and an overwhelming burden of responsibility and stress that really ages a person and wears on their health. For those reasons, I have daydreamed often about retiring since about 2 years in and this current economic environment has been ROUGH with inflation shrinking discretionary spending (and battling counterfeits). I'm still holding on and trying to make it through this market cycle, but I really hope she knows she's not alone. Hopefully, there is an arrangement to be made to continue the beautiful thing she has started. Thanks for reminding everyone what matters in the end. ❤
I'm familiar with your company (so CUTE) ❤️ we own other small businesses and the environment ajs definitely changed over the past 8 years or so....more so coming out of COVID. I don’t even use exclusive CTMH products, but I love them. It’s beyond comforting to know you, Erin, and the rest of the CDT are staying around. Thank you.
It IS a loss...and I don't mean to lessen human loss or an other loss that people go through but when something is so engrained in you, it's truly like losing a piece of you. The CDT Girls have been my rock over the past few weeks...we talk on a daily basis MULTIPLE times and knowing that we still have each other makes it all worth it and is so comforting!

The loss of regular scrapping events with friends, the loss of great trusted products, being uncertain how to move forward saving my families precious memories. I'm so sorry, Patty...I have quite a few friends that were devastated with CM sold some of their branches. I am so thankful that technology has come a long way (some of that because of COVID) - I can't imagine losing a community and not having one online to offer support, friendship, and love! TFW and leaving me such a sweet, heartfelt message.
Thinking of you, my friend. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. I've been going through the grief process for the past 2 weeks. It was hard for me to focus on my family vacation because the news broke just before we left. While I've hosted workshops and taught classes, I've stayed because I'm part of a community. People that get me, and share the same excitement that I do, that laugh with me over the silly things, and cry with me over the sad. My husband has encouraged me to continue to seek out opportunities and see where this beloved craft takes me next. Thankful for that, and thankful for the friendships I've made, in large part to Close To My Heart. Best wishes to you and yours.

My heart hurts for all of you whose livelihood have been impacted by this closure. And individually I grieve because for the last five years since I found CTMH I have rejoiced at the quality, the creators, the makers who so generously give of their talents with God-given inspired designs with all of us. I'm so thankful you will continue making your beautiful videos and I pray that the Lord will fill the vacuum that this has caused in a new direction that only He knows at the moment. I pray that the owner finds peace in her decision and that it is the best thing for her. She certainly has poured out her life's work into it all these years and the beauty of it can never be told in all the cards, journals, scrapbooks and projects that have impacted in the lives of others as we gave joyfully the items we made as gifts and encouragement and support. You articulated it beautifully. In the end it's about crafting. Not the product. And not slamming the product in any respect (gasp!) but saying .. it IS about community, about designing, creating, and giving. It's true to its name. Thank you Katy. I so needed to hear that. Although I'm just a hobbyist maker, when I got the news I was away on vacation and I felt alone and devastated. Thank you for articulating so many of your thoughts and feelings.
"Alone and devastated" are good words to describe what I was feeling. I was at work (my day job) and it was hard to contain my composure. Luckily I had lots of friends that we could chat back and forth with from states and continents away from each other. The CDT Chat was ON FIRE all that day, into the night, and even the next day...although to be fair, we are CONSTANTLY chatting during any given day.
I was so devastated about the news last week, I think I was more worried that I would lose watching your videos and being in the CDT membership. I love all of your techniques, all the videos and I love all of you guys. Thank you for what you do!!
We'll still be here, Judy...in fact a fire has been lit under our butts in some ways - it's weird how the threat of losing something makes you realize how much you want to hold onto what you can and make it better!

My inspiration comes from another maker. Thank you for sharing your heart. I found CTMH about 9 months ago. Although I am sad that the company has decided to close, I am thankful for the makers that I have been introduced to on TH-cam. Each one has a different style of creating a layout page. I am so thankful for this community. I am more of a card maker.

Thank you for thus! I stumbled upon this today and needed it! I am only a customer who has lost some outstanding product. I have used this product for over 20 years! It hurts my heart! I live in Vurginia and have a maker who has done it fir over ladt probably 10myears! She is awesome. Has a whole shop ,dies workshops, crops and videos. Live her and pray she can land on her feet. May God heal your broken heart and guide you forward! Time will give clarity!

I am new here but have been devastated by this news. I was a CTMH rep back when it was DOTS and as it transitioned to CTMH! I came back to scrapbooking recently and am just so sad because of how much I love their quality! I appreciate your video and will continue as a CDT member. Thank you!

In fact I’ve kept a few of those original stamp sets. I applaud you for this very heartfelt and uplifting message. You are a true inspiration.

Thank you Katy for your heartfelt message, it has been a very sad week in adjusting my thoughts around CTMH not being available by later this year... It is hard to make sense of why closing down was the only option, it has always been such a beautiful, high quality Company, which I have loved, it is most definitely leaving a gasping hole in my heart where I feel doubtful that another Company will be able to fill the void in me. I'm struggling to make sense of how something so beautiful will be no more. It is a sad time for all. 🙏💞
Wow, Rhonda...the "gaping hole" definitely resonated with me...there will be a void but I'm praying it will just be getting used to a new normal. I know a lot of my "it's not the quality" has to do with it's not what I'm used to. Hoping that feeling will get better. Hugs!

Katy, your heartfelt video has shared your pain, along with all Makers, creators of CTMH. I am in Australia and the Makers I am in contact with are shocked but have already put in place plans to carry on our monthly workshops differently. The product is excellent and sad this is lost. Nothing stays the same, unfortunately, but connections and friends and crafters do remain the same and we can change direction, as many of us do with having more than one interest going all the time. I for one will assist your monetisation of your channel by watching ads, liking and commenting which all help. Monetisation is not your priority but losing income, everything helps I'm sure. New opportunities will arrive for all your talented and generous ladies.

I’m no longer a scrapbooker but I am a Bible journaler and I think that’s why this is in my feed from a few different creators that I haven’t followed before now. I’m so very sorry for everyone who lost their businesses and am interested in where everyone goes after so I can take bit of ideas and maybe supplies for what I do. Small bright side is I do think it’s putting you in front of new people, at least it did for me for several new to me creators this week ❤
