Omg, I used to ruminate from front to back of Ms. Magazine. I once bought a year’s subscription for the library. I thought publication stopped. It’s still out on a quarterly basis?! Wow.
My mom subscribed to this magazine in the 1970’s. You can’t even imagine how important this movement was for us in our family. Finally a story from you that’s bearable to watch
The voice of Ms. is now kind of lost amid all the Vogues and fashion magazines dominating newsstands (have you actually spotted one lately?). It needs to improve its circulation.
@@TheresaPowersHardly equal. Every single day, in the US, more than 3 females are murdered at the hands of their boyfriend/husband. That’s some kind of privilege.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony worked their whole lives to secure votes for women. How have you honored their labor lately? When will you, and how?
Why the interviewer never asks about the effects of the feminist movement ? Disastrous increase in teenage pregnancies and one parent families , dissolution of the family unit as the best place for the human development, the existential drop in birth rates among the western countries.....So, was it such a success? Let's face it😢 😮
Legal abortion. Women in the legislature. Thinking women who do not apologize for questions to authority. Mother Jones on the news stand. Nancy Pelosi. Frightened men who mistake reason and evidence for wife beating. Redefinition of love as room to breathe, shared responsibility, affection, listening.🥰

She encouraged mothers to go into the workforce while underpaid daycare workers raised their kids. She also didn't take into account the women caring for these kids were also underpaid. So much for equal pay.
What would be the thoughts and opinions from Gloria Steinem about Transgender….she , her, him etc . What would be her opinions about men competing in woman’s sports?
There is a movie called 'A Bunny's Tale' (1985) which portrays some of Gloria Steinem's life in the 1963 in NYC. Kirstie Alley plays a young Gloria, working undercover as a Playboy bunny, for the sole purpose of writing an investigative article about the Playboy clubs and the girls who worked there. Yep, it's a true story.
I love how the interview carefully dodges the unfortunate fact that Ms. was a complete failure. Nobody actually read it, it did not make any money (or come close) and it's now got a circulation of 65,000 quarterly. Steinem is an old woman who's completely irrelevant, but due to her lack of a family (no surprise) literally has no other identity.

Cool!
Where are the women that will pick up Ms. Steinem's torch today?
They're too busy working and trying to survive in a two-income world to do anything else.
50 years and we are still fighting!💪
For what? If women were paid less than men, companies would only hire females.
Congrats to Gloria Steinem, looking well at 89 and being a "hopeaholic" after all these years fighting for women.
Love Ms. Steinems easy going grace and humor. Thank you Ms. Steinem!
What an extraordinary woman Gloria Steinem !

Here we are years later still dealing with inequality!
THERE IS NOTHING THAT MAKES YOU UNEQUAL
no you aren't. YOU have the best life in America but you refuse to see that you are priviledged/

Gloria! What an incredible human being.
She turns 90 next March.
I had issue #1. Wow! A long time ago. Oh the places I have been since then. The things I have done.
Me too: finally, a sisterhood!
Women like this have done so much damage to this country !
Why is that?
Nope.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony worked their whole lives to secure votes for women. How have you honored their labor lately? When will you, and how?
Her silence on Oct. 7 tells everything you need to know. She is one, flaming hypocrite.
I remember Ms Magazine.

👏👏👏👏Thank you MS Gloria!
So where has the Ms. revolution gotten us?
Broken homes, out of control kids and pill addicted couples.
40 Million dead kids

They made it so that many Mothers have NO choice but to have to work full time jobs and have someone else raise their children. 😬

So true.
She encouraged mothers to go into the workforce while underpaid daycare workers raised their kids. She also didn't take into account the women caring for these kids were also underpaid. So much for equal pay.

She has been my inspiration. Read Ms. on a regular basis.

We’ll probably never know, because she won’t expose her personal feelings to betray her party.
I was shocked by the Ms. article title, « I need a wife », until I read it. Women hold up half the sky!
ISN'T she a CIA asset?
I’ve often wondered that myself.
Very impressive Ms. ❤

Evil Woman. She single-Handley ruined the nuclear family 🤬

I agree with you there. I felt she did untold damage.
I don't think she singlehandedly ruined the nuclear family but I think she was a big part in it.

Depends who’s fighting for that

Ms. was a fantastic magazine and so was Penthouse. 😂
This is actually a very philosophical statement regarding all the cultural movements of that period.
