how do you expect to make anything cosplay related with out being able to sew just a little? A machine makes things easier sure, but this is totally doable by hand it'll just take a bit longer. Just try it. :] Learning to sew will greatly improve the quality of your costumes. I don't assume every one has a machine, but I do ASSUME that I can inspire them to accomplish what they want, whether by copying me, doing it by hand or using a hot glue gun machine. Where there is a will there is a way.
I want to give you many thanks for sharing this. this is pretty much the only tutorial I could find to explain how to achieve making cuffs. You're the greatest, and super adorable. a girl after my own heart 😘
Thanks for the video! I'm making a version of the Harley Quinn costume that I can run around in outside in South Florida at a festival. I didn't have anything for my arms besides painted diamonds because long selves and gloves are too hot. The cuffs are perfect! Thanks so much :)
I'm making a collar instead of a cuff (for the New 52 Harley cosplay) and for anyone who is wondering = you will need around 168 inches of ribbon. That's 426 cm. Great tutorial!
yes thicker elastic will fill the gaps under the ribbon so it looks like a white band around your wrist. I used 1/4 inch because that was what I had in my sewing box, and also thinner elastic will be more comfortable on your wrist. But both will work :]
Im going to be trying my hand at doing Harley next year. Going to mostly some what follow your tutorials as Ive looked at most of them and they really are super helpful. So thank you in advance, as I wont start making her until a few months into next year
Thankyou for this...I was looking everywhere for decent ruffles and with this I managed to make my own...except I hand sewed as my machine skills are lacking for fiddly jobs... all your vids were helpful and I'm doing a lolita inspired Harley for an upcoming con. By the way...you're awesome girl!
I just made a ruff for my son's king Henry VIII costume…thank you for the awesome video…it saved my arse. BTW, I did use ribbon with wire in it and the machine just skipped over the wire…it also helped give the ruff some shape.
You are AWESOME. May I ask you what kind of machine you use? I've got a very basic one and I think it can't sew the kind of fabric you used for the Harley Quinn costume. :c
okay, i got a huge issue!! im sitting here with my sewing machine! im at the ribbon part, i marked it 2 1/2, and i did 17 ticks like yoiu said and i ended up with 8 needles,so...im wondering...34 tiicks you mean? but thats near 6 ft.... soooo what am i doing here??? you confused me at the bends!!
Nope. I'm just a girl with a sewing machine :] I'm thinking about putting a few things up on my etsy, but i don't have the money or enough ppl wanting things to do that just yet
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! How the heck is going potty possible?!!! Yea... Stupid, I know! Thinking of how to alter so bathroom time is easier. Let me know please! =) Thanks!!!
I did this 7 years ago and I'm back because it was so successful the first time!
Thanks for all of these tutorials! My daughter is loving every step in seeing her Harley Quinn regalia move toward completion.
They turned out great!

For you people who thinking you're correcting her by saying "It's 6 feet." you do realize she said 2-3 YARDS per cuff and not 2-3 FEET, right?
You are very sweet :)

It's a shame these aren't sold on your website. I ordered a Harley Quinn costume that didn't come with cuffs, and am just about out of options.
Where did you get the Polyester Ribbon? I can't seem to find any :/
CosplayAdventures just at joanns

Wow can you make a new one? When you start actually sewing it's alittle hard and confusing
well, i wasted ribbon experimenting. its 6 feet same instructions. just hard once you get to the end. thanks for your vid! just uggghhh lol
please leave a comment if you understand this, because I am 10 years old and I want to do this.
The tutorial is here to help you :)
same im 10 and being harley quinn for halloween
U dont have to sew it just go to walmart and get a hot glue gun its only $3
Glue guns suck ass at holding things down to stretchy material.
6ft not 3, for2 1/2
Shave your arms
Kellax Productions awesome tutorial
